How long for nic to take effect after vaping?

Been vaping over 3 months now and haven't had a single analog in over 3 weeks. I know I'm getting some nic as my physical addiction would NOT be satisfied with placebos. The withdrawl was not pretty trying to quit cold turkey. vaping alleviated about 80% of the nastiest symptoms but I have never had a "rush" from 16-18mg nicotine juice that I did with analogs. Not that I want it at all and I also realize the 3000 other chemicals in cigs have an effect. While vaping for me, it is a more subtle feeling that I just don't crave the cigarette hit anymore. Maybe after 5 or 10 minutes but not immediately. Maybe a higher nic would give a more identifiable feeling? Anyone ever kept track of how long it takes to have an effect?

Just curious.

Thanx!

I don't get the quick 'rush' either that you get from cigs. More like a slow and steady satisfaction from vaping. Difficult to put into words. I don't crave cigs so whatever it is it's working. I just don't think you'll ever get that nicotine hit with vaping that you do with cigs. It's a different delivery system I guess. As long as I'm not pulling my hair out or ready to jump off a building, I'm OK with that.

I'm using 36mg ejuice which I've started to cut with 0mg as its a bit full on by itself - using a 2 drops (36mg) to 1 drop (0mg) ratio when filling carts I do get a buzz on on my first vape of the day. . . . Reading that back I realise that I am effectively now using 24mg approx juice so maybe thats the answer. However thats only on the first one so maybe its just the effect it has on my brain before its woken up properly :)

I get a pretty serious kick when I vape 24+mg. I try to keep that strength for just when I really need to beat a craving fast. My relax and kick off the shoes strength is 11mg. I'll sort of chain vape that in the evening, taking a puff every 2-5 minutes, or so. If I vaped 24mg all night I would be reversing what I intended to do.

Anyways, if you drip, or swap cartomizers, you can easily switch on the fly as needed, and see if that does it for you. Cigarettes are spiked to create a faster and more efficient transfer of nicotine to the brain, so while the pack might say X mg's, you can't compare the two numbers directly and expect similar results.

/Don't take this as encouragement to boost your levels overall, it's just that you may find good results by using a higher mg level to beat a craving and avoid an analog, and then use a low "maintenance" level at all other times.

Apparently the issue is not the other chemicals in cigarettes (though I suspect some may develop dependencies there as well) so much as the lack of the other alkaloids in tobacco of which nicotine is only one (albeit the "major").

Read this thread. WTAs are "Whole Tobacco Alkaloids", by the way.

That must be it! So thats what they're called. Those evil WTAs! If that's what I have to overcome to be free of cigs while vaping, I can handle it.

Also, cigarettes deprive the brain of oxygen which gives part of that rush. It's a very good thing we no longer get that part of the rush!

Thats a good point too! Its a rush I can live without!

Thanks for the input.

Thats my viewpoint too. Real, cold turkey nic/tobacco withdrawl is one of the most difficult things to deal with. Almost totally debilitating at times. It can't be much different that trying to kick addiction to opiates (thank God I don't have that issue.)

I think as time goes by you adjust to that difference (unless it's one of the issues mentioned). It seems like it has for me.
You could try a juice with a real 'kick'. Something like VB's cinnabomb or Fire n Ice. Cinnabomb is sort of like those red hot candies. It's a little too much for me, although I like the Fire n Ice. But you will definitely get a kick from the juice.

I've actually been thinking about something with more kick. Was never a big fan of red hots as a kid but don't know how it translates to vaping. My current "kick" vape right now is MV's Minthol mixed with a little blackberry at 16 mg nic. Probably not much of a kick compared to the cinnabomb! I do need to try some new liquids though so I will check out VB.

Thanks!

If you don't like red hots you won't like that juice! Be warned!! I tried it and it wasn't for me, but I wasn't a fan of red hots, just heard so much about the juice I thought I'd give it a try.

Vapor Bomb does have some great juice though but that is definitely pretty spicy. I love their peach. The orange dream bar is good but more orange than dream bar. I mix their blueberry with artic ice sometimes.

Fire n Ice is part artic ice and part cinnabomb, so it's not quite as strong.

I just gave my cinnabomb away or I'd let you try it.

LOL! sounds like good advice. I will wait on Cinnabomb. The Fire and Ice sounds good though. I do like a cool menthol vape though I never smoked the analog version. Mixed with a toned-down red-hot flavor might just be the ticket! I really don't have any flavors right now that rock my world. I have some good ones but nothing that hits me between the eyes. Loved Dream Bars as a kid and Peach might be interesting. I certainly appreciate your help with this!

Thanks so much!
