It is believed that PG should last 2 years, but I don't know of anyone who has kept it that long to give a better answer.

The nicotine should be fairly inert if it never comes in contact with oxygen, but that is an unlikely scenario.

I've never kept any over 4 months, but I can say that 4 months seemed to have no impact in the color or taste of the 100mg in PG base while in the freezer.

I like to get my Nic fresh every 90 days, However, I do have some 100 pg from Levy that has just now turned 2yrs old, I would not vape it, no way, I kept it for a test. There is a reason guys that when you see Nic on sale for such cheap prices, it's approaching that (old) mark to retailers, why do you think Box Elder has these awesome sales and other Nic sellers, IT'S GETTING OLD, and I've been saying this for some time now. There's nothing like using fresh Nic juice, all these people that want to steep juices for 3 months, god bless them not me, if the juice isn't ready to vape in a week to the moon I'm just never gonna like that juice, Nough said ! anyway Nic in PG supposedly last 2 yrs, in VG 1.5yrs, however I'm not the guy that going to vape that stuff, no way. I've been buying 250ml's about every 90-120 days and it works out perfectly for me, especially because I also buy made juice from some vendors too. OK all done.

hey, Bill.

here's a link from awhile back on the subject.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/myfreedomsmokes/43742-smoke-juice-storage-tips.html

i think there is a single, more comprehensive thread but not finding it...

fwiw, am also concerned about govt controls and availability, not to mention costs, and so have used Kurt's method to store about 4yrs of 100mg PG in freezer. and am considering ramping that up to 10yrs since price for nicotine juice is still so cheap and downside appears only to be slight loss of potency.

mwa...others

The issue raised is wether there ""will be availability"" to Nic in the future, and thus his concern for storing it. This is a concern of mine as well, since with the recent court ruling, the FDA is going to have jurisdiction on Nic. I could go on, but it would be getting off topic here.
Also, no mention was introduced to steeping. This is storing.

So where I don't want to vape old juice or Nic, the point is mute ""if we can't get it any more""!. The main point here was (and to me still is) how to best store it and how long will it keep? Why? The FDA may restrict or eliminate it..."""Be Prepared !!! """, or be without, possibly!

I've been told nic can last well over 2 years even though the accepted time/standard is 2 years with no change in taste/effect. Keeping air out of the bottle is vastly important(oxidation), and it might be wise to store in multiple bottles so if one needs opened, it only effects a small bottle and a minimal portion to the supply, not a huge one. Likewise , it is really not known if freezing will keep it longer (slows oxidation), but it is suspected it will. Darkness? Makes sense.

I also have asked this question in the past and have gotten some fair info, but nothing in depth. I don't think (from what I've heard) there is a limit to how long nic can be stored, but there must be a reasonable timeline (2 yrs or longer, possibly much longer).

So further feedback or personal experience would be appreciated.

Ok, I just ordered a couple lurlock 17 ga 10 ml needles, some glass amber euro dripper bottles.
I am going to order 500ml of 100 mg pg nicotine for the freezer as soon as I figure out who to order from.

Maybe catch a sale and buy some of that "OLD" nicotine.

I ordered enough bottles to start keeping my juice in them also.

thanks guys
I don't want any nicotine leaching (is that spelled right?) out the chemicals in the plastic.

I don't think you guys have anything to worry about for a while. The expected timeline for regs to go into effect is 2 years. They have not even written the regs yet, they only announced they would. Their jurisdiction only allows them to oversee the marketing of this industry. It will fall under cosmetics such as health supplements from what I have read.

Nicotine degrades over time when exposed to light, heat and air. I am sure most of you know this already. I personally don't keep juices over three months. I prefer to not keep it longer than that as a vendor. That is why I have a clearance section.

I think nicotine will always be available. Just my take on the situation and translations.

I have already noticed a few vendors that are only carrying zero nic liquid over the past few weeks. I think it would be better to be safe than sorry although I don't think anyone should go into panic mode lol
It seems to me some vendors are preparing already. But of course this is all just my opinion.

Earthpig, I am basing my opinion on talking to other vendors. We are looking down the road. There are several discussions going on and that is somewhat the consensus.

The only thing we don't know is how taxes are going to affect the price of juices. The analog market is slowly dwindling and that tax base is decreasing. Where is the tax money coming from that will be lost? Looking ahead, take a guess. Are they going to tax the crap out of us?

I personally agree with this statement 110% and I still say I prefer my Nic and all my juices fresh over stored or aged any day of the week and will keep doing it like this. The Nic vendor I speak to says he will always have Nic no matter and nothing to worry about so I'm not gonna panic or worry.

mwa.
That's in an uncooled state. Once chilled down hard, those times seem to increase drastically.
The jury is still out on how long, best I read.

mwa/butter.
I'm not a pessimist but there isn't anything written in stone that says nic will be available in 2 years or less. It would be nice to believe Nic will always be available. I have to think if the FDA is not to be trusted in that.

Hmm, how long did you had the VG nic before you think it turned bad? I've purchased many different bottles of nicotine from different vendors and they have all had a strong odor on arrival, I havent bought from the guy who is supposed to have the best quality nicotine cause no one ever says the site name just "Levy" so i cant figure out where to go for that.

The PG nic i bought got a very strong smell only a month or so after owning it due to oxidation most likely, which is why i bought VG nic..but it still smelled like the PG nic, only fainter.
