So Cal
I've read so many people's posts who have been vaping and successfully have kicked the nasty habit of smoking, and they've all mentioned they have dozens (ok maybe that's an exaggeration) of batteries. I just placed my Starter Kit order today (white auto shorty batts), I want to give up analogs completely, should I be ordering more batteries? And if so, what length (I've been a Marlboro Lt smoker for 25 yrs, and I'm looking for the "look" for now)?

I too wanted the "look" in the beginning. But as for your question about batts. I would say that 3 will be plenty to start with. When one goes bad, you will have graduated to something different anyway. This becomes addicting too :) But thank goodness it is sooooooo much better for our health.

I have like 5 or 6, but from a day to day use, I have 2 XL's on me. There are other how to say mods that take rechargeable batterys and last all day (I am not going to give vendors or anything but you can use google and quite a bit pop up)

Thanks Kid! I think the XL's may be "too long"....are they longer than "100's" or even longer than that? It's so hard to really know through the pictures. Being a total noob, I don't want to attract too much attention, you know?

Umm, I personally love the XL's because one usually lasts myself all day, and I am constantly using it. I keep a spare on me but that is just me. Oh make sure you have at least depending on how many flavors you use all day every day, 2 cartos at least on you of each flavor so you do not run out.

Later I will post a pic of all my stuff I keep on me, but I keep a 30ML bottle of WOWboy and smilin, 4 smilin cartos and 2 WOWboy cartos. I use wowboy more then smilin but wowboy lasts 2x as long as smilin for some odd reason... Oh and an extra XL batt.

If you start refilling, make sure if you use the Cool Carts that you refill the night before you want to use the carto, the carto needs all night to soak the juice up. Because the Carto is not as thirsty as a regular carto and will take longer to absorb the juice.

Vape on,
Kevin

For now, I'm actually steering clear of the juices....I just really don't want the hassle, and would rather just replace the carts. I have heard that people who have quit analogs to vape, have actually "smoked" (vaped) more because they can, and there's no burn out "time". I can't imagine going through 2 batts or even more than 1 cart a day....am I just fooling myself?? I want to be prepared so I can give up on the analogs and not go back and forth between vaping and smoking. Thanks for all the help!

I vape 2 carts a day give or take, so you might, but might not. I use it all day as well, I would start off with a low nic level then go higher, the higher you go when you 1st start the worse it is. I used 36MG and I had a sore throat, so I asked a few friends and they said cause it is too high for me then, so I went to 24 and was fine. I also started at 11 and was ready to forget it.

I get by with two standard 510 batteries (never completely drain both) because I sit at a desk with a passthrough at work, and I'm insanely busy on weekends and often have a kid in tow, which limits my vaping.

I go through about 2ml a day. Not sure what that translates to in terms of your carts, but just including it for reference.

Point is, a passthrough is good insurance against battery misery, I think. Not sure what model you're getting, but I hope one is available for you.

I got: Vapor King Ultimate Shorty Kit ....lol of course automatic as I just wanted something "easy" that I didn't have to think about starting out....once I'm off analogs completely, I may/may not change the way I vape....but for now I think I need to keep it as simple as possible.

Where were you when I was ordering? hmmmmm? lol

Nothing wrong with that kit, just shorties dont last too long, neither do regulars to me, I love my passthrough and XL batteries, but I started on regulars cause I didn't know the difference. I got manual and the wife a auto when we started and she now hates autos and only uses my extra manuals! Anyways on your next order try out a XL manual, you wont be disappointed!

edit - Just my 2 cents but really manual batteries are "easiest" out of the two

I am one of those that literally has dozens of batteries. I have 6 auto xls, 21 manual xls (8 of them are the older style 13 min cut off which I don't use but keep in case of emergency), 5 regular manuals, 2 auto manuals, 1 old style manual pass through, and 2 of the new style manual pass throughs.

The auto xls are for those times when I just want to put them in my jeans pocket and don't want the button to be depressed and activate the battery (which happens). I have 6 manual xls that I rotate and 7 new ones never been used that I have for when a battery goes on the fritz. The regulars are for pcc's (I have 3 of them, 1 I carry with me always and 2 for back up).

We won't go into how many old style cartos that I don't vape anymore but keep in case of emergency. Actually, I blame Steve for all this! He keeps making things better and better and once I try the new, it is hard to go back to the old stuff - so I keep it just in case of any type of emergency. I think with the stuff I have I could probably go a few years without buying anything, but of course with all the wonderful sales they have, it is impossible NOT to buy new stuff! lol

Yeah, I know I am a bit of a nut, but I like to be prepared lol! I also lend out my stuff to people who want to give it a try. And if there are people here in need, I am always happy to give out the older stuff to help get them through! :)

I have three regular manuals and two XL's. The XL's are a recent purchase and Im in love. Believe me, I quit cigs the day I got my first kit from V4L. I quickly got over wanting something that was like a cig. You probably won't be satisfied with the shorties... My regulars were fine but I needed a longer battery life.

Make sure you have a high enough nic level that will be your main thing to try and figure out at first.. Cus if you feel like having a cig then you need more nic!

My biggest advice for you is you is to ask questions (lots of questions) before making a purchase! The more informed the better you'll spend. I spent a little too much in the beginning (like most) but quickly learned to just do more research before hand.

You'll probably end up with a few batts naturally over the course of your new adventure! Especially when there's all these cool colors and led lights! :p

Happy vaping!

PS get a passthrough if you're on the computer (or xbox, ps3, anything with a usb port) a lot!!!!

Good to know! I think the Starter Kit does come with a passthrough (not sure though). Since doing all my research and reading this forum, I've become a little "obsessed" and have been on the computer 24/7! LOL
