Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the bulbs
Their light is marching on.

There is no reason bees and bulbs can not live together in a harmonious, productive environment.

Your suggestion that using bees to make candles is a more conscious choice is appalling.
How many bees does it take to make one candle? That seems cruel to me.
Long Live Bulbs!

I can't believe you guys are all still using light bulbs! They are bad for the environment and cause bees to go sterile! I illuminate my home with tofu candles and so should you!

Just a heads-up on the use of soy products such as tofu candles. They may seem like a bright idea but I will stick with the tried and true bulbs.

Hundreds of epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies link soy to:
  • Malnutrition
  • Digestive distress
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Cognitive decline
  • Reproductive disorders

  • Infertility
  • Birth defects
  • Immune system breakdown
  • Heart disease
  • Cancer

You may need NLigher's VitaLight! Sounds like you may have SAD from regular bulbs (if you have recently quit candles or started with a mall night light you can probably benefit from a better grade of bulb).

Vita-Lite's full spectrum, full color, natural light can reduce fatigue, glare and eye strain from VDT Screens, and portrays true colors. Vita-Lite natural full spectrum fluorescent light bulbs are more pleasant, natural, bright, and stimulating. Vita-Lite natural lighting fluorescent light bulbs can also reduce SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), excellent for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) students. Vita-Lite natural full spectrum fluorescent light bulbs are the only choice for offices (excellent natural full spectrum ergonomic lighting), schools, stores, factories, banks, and dental facilities, artists, painters, picture framing, arts and crafts, sewing, etc. Naturallighting.com - the best sun light simulating lighting for all indoor pets; birds, reptiles, fresh water aquariums, and grow light for plants. VITA-LITE FLUORESCENT TUBES ARE MADE IN THE USA!

It does almost everything!

I was waiting to unveil the new super cartomizer-light mod until I could get a few more ready for shipment. However, I see that you light-bulb-come-earlies are at it again so here is the first world-wide preview. They will be priced around $1,350,000 with an ECF only discount of 1%. PM me and I'll give you PP info. No mention of light bulbs, bulb-juice, or e-bulbs PLEASE.

Yeah, but how bright is the light that is produced?

I need a lot of light to simulate all of the candles I used to use.
If I don't get the light I need, I will go back to candles, I just know it.

But remind, that addiction is not necessarily related to the lumen; could well be the evil, habit-forming candle shape. Came across some invention by a Chinese guy. Quite a success, so I hear. Might give those light-sticks a try.

It is highly recommended by most that you get all your candles, candle holders, and matches out of your home, car, and office.
Also, avoid candle shops, people use still use candles, publications about candles, and forums or other internet sites dedicated to candles.
There are some that have resorted to the candle patch, candle gum, and various drugs to kick the candle habit. These have pretty low success rates.
This light-stick idea by Tom09 sure looks like a winner to me.
I do have some questions for you, Tom09 and others like TWolf who are not newbees like me in this area;
Are these safe to use during long, luxurious baths?
Are they expensive?
Are there any US made ones?
Do they come in different colors?
How have you overcome your desire to just light something on fire and watch it burn?

Well I am a newb and I have questions. Not gonna look on all those threads to find the answers so I expect you to (once) again, answer all the newbie questions:

    1. How long will these bulb things last?
    2. How do I clean the bulb?
    3. Where can I get the best deal on the bulbs?
    4. What if I am allergic?
    5. Does it come in lots of colors?
    6. How do I use it (don't try sending me to the Don's sticky, I don't trust him cause he changed his avatar)
    7. Are you sure this thing is safe? I have heard about exploding bulbs.

I am sure I will have more questions after I actually get the device.
