Here's how you clean out a flooded bulb.

Try the plug mod. You'll get more light. You can buy them at HomeDepot.

I really suggest you spend some time and read DonDaBoomLightBlub's beginners page at http ://righttohavelight.com/new members/get a clue/knowyourlightbulb.com

Here is a good picture of how your light bulb works.

Don't buy this Light Bulb! What a rip off. A real mickey mouse POS. Won't fit any of my lamps. Noobies beware!

Just throwing this out there...I am really offended by the name "bulb". It is awkward to use, confusing because I put the same thing in my gardens, doesn't really represent what it does accurately...I mean how awkward is it to go out in public saying something like "I use a bulb instead of a candle".
Could we come up with another name for it?

No. The terminology the veterans came up with should be considered law and you n00bs can just shut up and deal with it.

OMG, I just realized that bulb spelled backward is blub.
Another reason to change the name to something more politically correct?
I do like the suggestion of illuminator although its hard to spell and abbrev is "ill."
Thanks for all the photos as now I have a much better idea of not only what we are talking about but also a visual of the step-by-step possibilities for, I don't know, lightening up?

Does anyone else get dry, itchy eyes from bulbing? I'm wondering if maybe I'm alergic to the incandescentance of my ILB.
That is your eyes recovering from the soot in the air from your old candle. Give it a few weeks. Once you get use to your light bulb, you'll be squinting like the rest of us in no time! Don't stare directly at the light though... if you do, you'll have light flashes when you close your eyes. Don't worry about it, it is normal for new users.

Oh no way that IS NOT normal. I don't care what anyone else says.
You should consult a doctor right away.
