Bristow, Ok.
I'm sad no one continued to take my bait and start a "real" heated debate in this thread. Oh well. I tried.

What do you mean you tried. If you had been sincere you would have made a little more effort to the cause instead of some half hearted phony attempt.

When do I start saving money bulbing? I have spent a fortune on these things. I have a desk covered with spare filaments, screw ends, sockets, 20w-40w-60w and even 100w styles, penlight styles, trying to find something that works. It looks like an electrician puked. My family thinks I'm crazy. Does it ever get any easier? I'm about ready to give up and go back to my old kerosene lamp.

I'm having switch issues with my bulb. It's in a standard "lamp" setup but it only fires up about one time in every three. I'm wondering whether to replace my electrical switch with a mechanical switch. It's so frustrating when you press and nothing happens...

try soaking it in 151 (best to do this in the tub) and then blow it out from the bottom... i don't think its your switch man

Thanks lightgeoduck. I've tried soaking the bulb as you suggest but find that I have electrocuted myself. Should I have disconnected my bulb from the mains first?

No man you are doing it right... you're just a newB you will get the hang of it in time.... Trust me I am a VET

For those of you who are missing your scented candle (yes, quitting is hard! YOU can do it) you can DIY and get good results with this:

Just prime with 4 or 5 drops of oil. Inhale deeply. You'll think you are using a candle, but won't have the stink, wax and fire hazard. NOT FDA approved... but way less chemicals than a candle!!

All up in your grill..
WRONG.......It only takes ONE OUTSIDE poster to change a light bulb. He just sticks it in the socket and waits for the world to begin revolving around him...:)
You have only anecdotal evidence to support that theory! The munchausen principle has proven that! Check out this graph:

munchausen graph:

1992>>>>>>>>>way cool
1993>>>>>>>>> coolest ever
2009>>>>>>>>>Lame
(never mind the missing dates)

Can someone tell me what light bulb is the best light bulb to buy?

I bought a light bulb from a mall kiosk and it is burned out already. I want to know where I can buy it from cheap and I want it delivered tomorrow.

To think all this started way back on page 2.. haha.

I used to check out my vendor forum, and then cart mod, every time I logged in. Now the first page I check is this one! haha.

Anybody have any good leads on flavored lamps? The ones I have now have the familiar burn when I lick them, but I'm looking for more flavor!
