I fell for the Deluxe Ecigs hype here in Colorado Springs. I had a feeling something was fishy when I found out they are actually Hookah Emporium, a crappy shop in the mall that overpriced all their hookah materials, and used to sell knives and swords as well. But, like a true naive vaper with no knowledge of clones or anything, I bought a $150 mechanical "hookah" tube mod kit, as they called it. The clones had no labels other than a Deluxe brand, even the protanks were clones.

I should have walked away immediately when the chick behind the counter couldn't even tell me which end of the battery to insert into the tube

There are some crappy places here in Springs. Have nothing but good to say about JVapes. Clones and the authentic are clearly distinguished. Staff is super helpful and knowledgeable.
Had leaking issues with a Kayfun clone I got from them and while I had learned to live with it, they exchanged it for me without my even asking.
I will happily pay a little more for excellent customer service as well as supporting a local business.

Yes, I'm a girl and I use a Mech! :)

Florence, SC shop called vaping masters has done me right through my entire experience. I imagine that there are places that are not into truly helping the customer but that has not been my experience at this shop. Their juice is great, and have many, many favors. They do sell some clone mechanicals but I haven't seen many brick and mortars that have a ton of authentic mechanicals. All the rest of the products are authentic and great quality. This industry is really starting to take off, at least on the local level and it's to be expected that some folks just wanna make some quick doe.

Blue door vapor in Mechanicsburg is actually pretty decent pricing for a B&M. They carried more starter kit stuff, but it was all authentic and reasonably priced. The higher end mod clones were very reasonable and I even bought an IGO-W for $15. Juice prices for what he was selling was reasonable for quality.

There aren't too many B&M's in this area and the one closest to me inflates prices horribly and it's more a counter in a unspecified type of shop, rather then a true vape store.

I went into the latest store of a local chain. I started talking about how I thought Chinese PVs fail prematurely more often than I'd like to see. The clerk told me that their EHPro stuff came from Germany. I just smiled and told him I'd bet him money that it is all manufactured in China. His response was that, "well maybe it was, but we get it from Germany." I just smiled and walked out. I don't really think he was trying to con me. I imagine he saw "Made in Germany" on one of their Kayfun clones and just didn't know any better. As a whole this chain isn't bad. The prices are a bit high, but not crazy high like some places.

Went into one of my local b&m a few weeks ago and had a guy behind the counter ask me what I was using for a wick. I replied organic cotton and he then proceeded to ask me "what ohms is your cotton"? Needless to say I won't be back.

I get the point you're making here (that the staffer was probably a clueless goob), but TECHNICALLY, a wick (of ANY type of material) when saturated with e-liquid WILL add a tiny bit of resistance to your coil. (not that this staffer understands this concept)

Anyone with a regulated mod knows that your builds meter one way when they are dry, but as soon as you prime them and load up the atty with juice, the resistance can increase by 0.05-0.3ohms.

It's simple physics, dude. Most liquids are conductors, and so a wet wick becomes part of the circuit of the coil.

Just sayin'... ;-)

I love finding a new shop I had no clue was there or a shop in another state. You walk in, they have just moved in, the auction bought retail cabinets are set up kind of off-centered, there is one large desk in the left corner with a Tensor Light and all kinds of vape going on it and they have a sparce display of clone hardware and a bunch of juices in nasty looking taster bottles with sealed plastic drip tips and 2 guys running around like chickens with their heads cut off...

True, but I can guarantee that had that been his thought process I would have seen smoke coming out of his ears from a brain overload. Lol
