How many other's have you encountered vaping

I've only met one other, beside the two who introduced vaping to me.

The fellow I met was moving to West Virginia from somewhere, just passing through while I was staying with a friend. On a personal note, I wish I never met him and he wasn't even using his e-cig the whole time I was stuck with him in a blizzard (he stank, literally).

I haven't met any vapers except for the friend who introduced me to it. I can see why many people may not want to vape in public though.

I got a laugh from the guy at the drive through window last night when he saw my ego/510 in my hand. I think he thought it was some kind of sneak-a-toke or something. I thought it was funny but other vapers may not.

I've never seen it with my eyes, but when I first started vaping and was telling people I was trying to quit with the e-cig, people seamed to know about it, but they knew very little. When I told my best friend who doesn't even smoke she said she had one. I was shocked. She said she got it cuz she thought it was cool. Then the lady at the post office told me her husband tried the volcano and gave up on it. Just the other day I was driving with my window rolled down, had my pink Volt gripped between my teeth hands free puffin on it as I was making a right hand turn. The guy waiting in the left turning lane gave me a big OL' THUMBS UP ! Made me feel good. Wonder when it will take off? Wonder when it will it explode. I just know it's gonna. And I want stock in it when it does!!

Greater Orlando area here. I haven't seen anyone at all that vapes, other than my friends who vape (some who didn't even previously smoke!). But, other than that, not a single person.

When I first got my ProVari, I was a little weirded out to use it in public. It does look like some odd drug paraphernalia or something. I took a flight to visit a friend this past weekend and was kinda concerned about having it in my bag and going through TSA... I mean, it really does look like a detonator to people looking for that sort of thing. LOL. But I passed through without even a second glance so I guess it didn't raise any red flags.

However, I have gotten a lot more comfortable with it, and frequently use it in public. No one has any idea what the heck I'm doing, and get the universal "What the hell is that??". Maybe if I was using a run-of-the-mill Blu or something it would fly under the radar. But once I tell people about it, they seem genuinely interested. I do find that people have a hard time grasping the fact that I'm not "smoking". I think the fact that there is still a cloud, albeit odorless, is what throws people off.

Non-smokers also seem to have trouble understanding what the point is. When I tell them there is still nicotine in the liquid, I get puzzled looks followed by "Then how is it better than cigarettes?". Maybe it's a common misconception that nicotine is the death dealer in analogs, where in fact it's the tar and eleventy-billion chemicals.

Anyhow, even though I haven't come across another random vaper, I look forward to the day I do. And until then, I plan to educate one person at a time about e-cigs. ;)

I have only seen one person so far -wild looking chick came struting into Trader Joe's vaping away on a 510 -I nudged my husband and pointed at her after she passed. I wanted to go up to her and be like "Hey fellow vaper!" -at that time I was very new to vaping and too shy to vape in public -but now I try to vape "out in the wild" as much as possible -I'm proud to be a vaper! I want to yell out and tell the whole world how fabulous vaping is -and to yell out to the nay-sayers to quit being so ignorant! We need to come out of hiding! My step-father introduced me to the e-cig about a year ago (although I just recently became hard-core about it) -I have since converted my brother, my best friend, my husband, and working on converting my mom and my step-father (he didn't stick with it-he had one of those 'free trial' deals and figured it out and sent it back, so that whole thing really turned him off -I just gotta find a juice that will knock his socks off, but every time I think I found it (such as Boba's or Casablanca, he just goes 'eh' after trying a puff -ugh!) -other than that, I know of no other vapers in my own little world here in Ohio, other than those here on ECF from Ohio. Well, one of the ladies I work with said she did have some off-brand not good e-cig a couple years ago, but she went back to analogs (I don't get to talk to her much since we are not only extremely busy at work, she also usually works in a different area than me so I haven't had a chance to convert her back to the vaping world). It's odd that this past weekend me and my husband went to the flea market, and there were e-cig vendors there, and we did see a few people make some purchases, yet I think we were the only two people walking through the place vaping. My husband said that some old lady's eyes got real wide and her jaw dropped when we walked out one of the doorways to head into the next building while he was taking a big hit off his eGo -wish I would have seen her face! -hubby was cracking up. I just can't believe that PV's have not hit the world like wildfire by the masses nor have they started a big craze (it has to be coming ) -seems like the only craze is here on the ECF on my computer. I sometimes feel like a part of some fantastic secret club, like we're holding back some great secret to keep all to ourselves here in the ECF world. It's like we are the pioneers of vaping on the verge of a what might become a mass movement once the world is informed enough and embraces (hopefully) vaping. It's all good though. :p Vape on, vape proud! :vapor:

I've seen other vapers while out and about, and usually they're trying to be as stealthy as possible, so I won't actually say something to them unless I'm close enough to them to not attract any undue attention. I recently attended a high school reunion, and there were about a dozen vapers there!!! We had a great time outside comparing PVs, juices, vendors, etc., and the analog smokers all came by to see what the heck we were doing! I agree that it's like we're in a secret society; there are lots of vapers out there but we're all trying not to piss off the militant anti-smokers so much that we can't even spot our vaping buddies! :)

I've run into a lot of people using the mini "Looks like a real cigarette" things, but until Saturday night, that was it.

Saturday night, my roommates had a bunch of musicians over for a jam, just practicing and having fun. One of the guys that showed up had a Silver Bullet with a 3ml liquinator on it. That's the only person I've run into using a real PV, and it was sure surprising that he happened to show up at my house.
