Dad was intrigued till he try 3 different flavors at various settings all of which we less that 12mg and he about choked up a lung LOL!! But still interested just doesn't want to in front of anyone due to the embarrasement:) 1 friend a SSC, easy conversion and 3 I haven't checked on in the last week. At parties people just go nuts with intrigue. It's alot of fun for me as well.

I have no idea. I don't try to convert, I simple vape and am open to answer any questions anyone has as honestly as I can. Its usually pretty easy to tell if someone only has a casual curiosity or if they are seriously interested by the amount and type of questions that they ask. Those that are seriously interested are given places that they can go to do more of their own research along with an open invitation to contract me if they need additional information or help. As far as I'm concerned its just as important for more people to have accurate information about what vaping really is and isn't as it is to convert smokers to become vaporers.

My husband had no interest in quitting analogs in the near future. Then when I got my PV he of course wanted to try it. He's now hijacked one of my batteries and half of my cartos :) Next I'm on to get my mother switched over. Says she's tried it before and it didn't stick, but I don't think she knew about all the flavor options.

I haven't smoked analogs in fourth months, went right from those to the e-cigs. I don't even crave analogs, I only crave the electronic cigs now. But the downside of this is i'm actually having a hard time getting off of these now. I guess I need not rush it because I was a smoker for 15 or more years on and off and i've found the perfect "stop smoking" aid for myself. I also spread the word to other smokers in my family. So far, both parents have switched and this of course makes me very happy.

I myself in my 6 months of vaping have assisted 8 friends of mine to better health, and to join the revolution of vaping. What about you guys and gals? What brand/model did you suggest?

I have converted 7 smokers and working on several more! The trick is suggest a good kit to start with a big battery so that the heavy smokers are not discouraged by dieing batteries and fuss and bother of topping off cartridges. Reccomend a tank system and at least 600 mah battery to get someone started. Refer the smoker to a website with a variety of flavors AND hardware. If you are in Canada refer to a Canadian provider to avoid custom hassles. Knowing the right route to travel will help to entice analog smokers to the vapeing revolution. I usually start out reccomending Ego batteries, like the Ego-T.

I don't know if I will call him converted just yet, but one of the guys that works at a restaurant at my hotel went to the Orlando vape store this past week and bought a PV. He did so after asking me lots of questions, and trying a few puff off of my setup. He's genuinely interested in it all, and while I didn't get a chance to see what clearo/carto setup he got, I know he got a Twist battery, so he's in the right direction there for starting. I think seeing me using the Twist sizes and realizing they're not "huge" helped him decide to pass on the look alikes. Plus my kvetching about battery life on the little ones :)
I'll wait a week or so and see if he keeps with it to consider him a true convert. But he's my first. Got at last one other friend interested, just need to get together with him soon. Gonna PIF him my original eGo-C batteries. He'll just need to buy a charger and some kind of delivery system. One of my direct coworkers is interested as well. She's an "after meal" type smoker, so she doesn't really want to spend the money on something too big. I'm thinking Volt for her. Get her started with one battery and get her on here for their free battery promotion and she'll be set. She's a dainty lady, so I think a look alike is going to be best for her anyways. And since she barely smoked 3 or 4 cigarettes a day, the battery life shouldn't be an issue if she has 2.

Both of my brothers and my mother now own and regularly use provaris. They all also still smoke but less than they did. I tell them even if they only replace 1 cigarette per day with vaping has to be good. 365/20 = over 18 packs per year that don't get smoked at a minimum.

Quite true. I think another motivator is in how you look at cigarettes smoked. For those that haven't made the complete switch over, I suggest they not think negative in "I smoked xx cigarettes today." Go for the positive, if you used to be a PAD, but today you only had 2, then you say "Today I did NOT smoke 18 cigarettes." Perspective is everything, especially with a habit that some have had for decades.

I"m attempting to get some co-workers to switch. I still have to go outside to vape, and they ask me about it while I'm out there. I think the startup price point is there biggest concern. I think they feel that initial investment will be wasted if they don't like it. I might suggest they pick up a disposable to try out and see if they'd like it, then move on to a kit.

Disposables aren't a bad idea per say, but on the flip side, they're also not going to give the best example of what they can get out of a good PV. Now that I have 3 Twist batteries (With plans for a couple more in colors) I have the 2 original -C batteries ... just need a good clearo and a charger, and I can easily have a "kit" I can let someone try out. If they see it working for themselves, then they can justify the investment of a kit for themselves, then I can use the stuff for someone else.

I agree that the initial investment can be high. Especially for people that in this day and age are making it paycheck to paycheck. Yes, a $80 kit is less than 2 cartons of cigarettes (Less than 1 in some markets), but a lot of people don't buy by the carton. They go day to day, pack to pack.

I won't go as far as saying that those of us that have been successful in switching have an true obligation to help our friends that want to switch by giving out things, but if we can, we ought to.

1. My girlfriend, I ordered her one and told her if she cant quit I cant see her for the next 2-3 weeks while I quit. So far she has been 6 weeks.
2. My Dad, he has been trying everything possible for the last 6 years to quit, so far he is at 1 month.
3. My Mom, She was only smoking 1-3 a day, and easily converted. 5 weeks.
4. My Sister, I ordered her one and she quit easily since she is not allowed to smoke anywhere near her work, or smell like it. 5 weeks
5-7. 3 coworkers they were all interested from day 1, apparently they had been trying to quit for a few years as well. 1-4 weeks

I think it really depends on the person, If they enjoy smoking and don't care to quit they wont give it the time of day. Anyone I have run across that has tried quitting before and failed, will almost try anything.

And apparently a few others that I do not know, that my family has converted since I converted them.

Initial costs for me were right at $60. Starter kit, plus cartos, plus juice.
At the time, I rationalized it by thinking that $60 isn't but 10 packs of cigarettes. What's odd is how many people continue to buy single pack after single pack, knowing two things:
1) cartons are cheaper in the long run
2) they ARE going to smoke at least another 10 packs.

Most people regret the day they started smoking, and want to quit. Perhaps I will just start handing out kits... people can always pay me back later.

I plan on doing exactly this for some of my older family members that are less savvy online. They've been trying to stop for years.
