I had a battery go bad within a few days of order. I placed about a $100 order from one of the "better" suppliers. Do all suppliers require you to send back the defective part before issuing a replacement? That is such a hassle on such a cheap part. batteries wholesale are less than $5... they charge about $15. Now I have to pay about $2 or so and the headache of going to the post office to ship back a cheap part so I can get a replacement..

just a rant.. maybe they all do this.

Most do, some don't. They may be able to get a refund from their supplier. I've had two places tell me to toss them, and 4 places ask me to send the bad parts back.

its a deterrent to stop iffy customers getting freebies..

or to put it bluntly... if you cant be arsed to send it back we cant be arsed to send you a new one.. he he

having said that if the part is cheap its just cheaper and easier to ship out a new part.. and be conned every so often.. just add that to the cost..

a part of the e cig sellers cost is handling the inevitable returns..

the chinese get round the issue by being so far away and asking the customer to cover postage both ways and wait weeks to get the new part back.

there are no hard and fast rules.. but handling returns does cost a seller money.. and with such a high failure rate its got to be a headache for every one.. both buyer and seller..

but it is part of why the 5 dollar chinese part ends up at 15 dollars..

Reputable sellers that I've had several over $100 orders, multiple orders and long order history and I've had to send parts back. Fairly common, even outside of e-cigs. Some that I've had a long history with have mailed out the replacement before they received the bad part.

Reputable does not equal large. Many reputable sellers are still small time Mom and Pop, no matter how loyal or large of a following they have. They get credit back from the manufacturer. I'd rather pay $2 and a trip to the PO to get my replacement from them than have to handle the shipping costs and return to manufacturer myself.

My chinese supplier will pay for postage to send back to me. I just have to pay for sending it to them. Never had to do that before though. I always get a replacement in my next order if i have any issues with dead parts.
