this weekend i'm going to settle in for my 2nd shopping spree and try to get ahead of it all--i picked up some cartomizers (KR808Ds) and an adapter so it's a bit easier to deal with at work but alals backed it up with a pack of analogs cuz the constant open drip vape routine fading atomizers was getting on my nerves.

did my first successful refill (condom technique) and with better juice its feeling pretty good. I'm going to cruise the simple mods, pick up a spare charger for work and then try to lay off the obsessing and get habitual.

Had a good read on a Wizard mod thread in the modders forum--wow this stuff can get to be a complete obsession.

i got a burst of goddalmighty the feds are going to close this down panic when i realized that i like vaping better than smoking but then after a few analogs (and consequent wheezing) i realized i'm likely to be in way better shape even if i have to put down my ecigs than going back to analogs.

besides i have a feeling they can't ban the device, after all we could all be vaping 0 mg juice and skip right by any ban--but the nicotine concentrate, that's what they will have to hit on.

BTW for comparison last summer i was on the FDA approved prescription only nicotrols (a tampon-looking inhaler device from Pfizer) the cost was about $1.66 a cartridge i blew through $200 bucks worth in a couple weeks.

the nicotine lozenges are $44 a box in my neighborhood

I could have spent around $200 had I been more frugal, but I spent $700ish...
About 10 juice/cartomizer/battery buys and bought an extra PV... have V4L and an ego.

at the moment, I have at least a month's worth of cartomizers.... 5 big bottles of TV juice, 2 PVs and 5 extra batts...

It's possible to save a lot of money... but it's difficult NOT to want a lot of cool stuff... When you see that it is working, you get all excited and want a lot of extras...

I sold a few vintage basketball cards on eBay to finance my first month's purchases.

I haven't added up the $$ yet but I think I have done fairly well over 5 months. The first PV and juice I bought were on the high side but I learned quickly and did not repeat the error. I have never purchased carts and mixed most of my juice.
My analogs were not on the pricey side to begin with ($22 for a carton) but I am still probably ahead. Luckily saving money wasn't my most pressing reason for vaping- I was more concerned about health benefits.

Well lets see; I used to spend around $10.00 a day for analogs 1 1/2 packs to 2 packs a day give or take a buck or two.

Kit one $59.95
Kit 2 (510) 2 of them for #34.99 on special
Ordered one more of the same
Various juices and a few make your own supplies roughly $70.00
I just purchased a Prodigy V2 with a few supplies lightly used for $90.00
I figure not too bad considering I should be good now for about 3 months or so with minor juice purchases.

I have spent about £175 this week setting myself up with my first e-ciggy and an E-mini pipe + a few juices and a couple of other spares. So this outlay has well exceeded the cost of my normal tobacco outlay for a couple of months...I do buy my tobacco duty free, so my cost of smoking is quite low. Time will tell weather moving over to the E smoking is going to be a cheaper, or a more expensive pass-time. Either way, i am not that bothered about the cost, it's more a health thing for me. Been smoking for over 50 years and now getting a little out of breath when out hiking, so got the urge to quit smoking normal tobacco. Hopefully the electronics will do the trick, as all other attempts with NRT have failed.

only just started vaping yesterday so I have spent only about $90 so far (2kits and 70ml of juice) I'm guessing it should all last me maybe 7-8 weeks if I play my cards right, maybe more. My analogs cost me about $80 a month. 'Course then you have to take into account probable future hospital stays, inevitable home oxygen equipment rentals, etc...etc...etc... because who'm I trying to fool? If I can smoke in the car on the way to my throat biopsy then the big "C" probably wouldn't have made me quit either.

I spent over $800 the first month. Went straight to the mods and still looking for the best juice out there.

My hubby would kill me! He doesn't really get why this is different from smoking analogs. Hopefully I can stealth shop until he figures out it's actually saving money.
p.s. tell me when you find that juice (call it "ambrosia" -the food/drink of the Greek Gods):hubba:

Since starting towards the end of last January, I have spent $210 and some odd cents. I still have:

3 KR8 batteries (2 standard, 1 XL)
1 Kr8 charger
1 Kr8 case
8 cartomizers (2 unopened and full)
3 901 atomizers
9 901 carts
about 45 ml of juice in various flavors

At the rate I'm going, I will break even in the next few weeks, at which time I will place another big $100 order that will include more juice, an extra charger, and a USB car charger adapter from Amazon or Radio Shack or some such place.

Edit: oops, I break even in one week!!!

First was GP's kr808 setup...

Order Date: Fri, Feb 19, 2010
1 EZ Refill Too 2.99
1 GP VapoRite KR-808 Cartomizer-18mg 8.99
(the emergency pack for when i figure out how much of a 30ml bottle i can go through, more later on that)
1 11mg 30ml Liquid - LOW 8.99
Flavors: Wynston
1 GP VapoRite KR-808 Kit-White 44.50
carto: Marb 24mg-White +0.50
1 USB Passthru for GP VapoRite KR-808 16.99

THEN..... when i finally figured out and mastered the "ECF" way to refill cartomizers.... (i ran out of the 30ml bottle within two weeks, was a 1.5 to 2 pack a day smoker, now about 3 - 5 analogs a day)

Total to Start $82.46

NOW bought one PCC cant figure out if its properly charging or not (i need a dam lcd meter to tell me the pcc is done charging my batts)

Fri, Feb 26, 2010
1 KR808 PCC
Total $25.94

Panicked and bought a nicstick for the 510 atty and carts ($39.99)

then more juice....
Fri, Mar 5, 2010
2 11mg 30ml Liquid - LOW 13.98
Flavors: Wynston

1 PV Adapter: 808/901batt-to-510atom 3.99
(For the NicStick i picked up the mall, so i could smoke easier at the computer with the pass through, by dripping)
Total $20.97

Then the final purchase so far....
1 808 Spare batt: 380mah-Manual
Total $17.99

Overall cost so far over the past 25 days?... $187.35

Things learned?

510 no flavor lots of steam

808 great flavor not enough steam (very tasty though)

510 EATS 808 batteries

510 battery is in a avis rental car somewhere in Georgia (another good reason i bought the adapter)

PCC is to hard to read at a glance if you smoke just under keith richards' drag rate... but handy to have (i have been curbing my usage, still have just under half of the 1st of the two 30ml bottles i ordered, and the other one is shelved on standby), i can use the pass through at work, when the manager is not around, if he is i will have up to 3 analogs at work.

My two auto 808 batteries are dam near toast, bright glow on drag then a rapid burst of light then dim, and flashing OH and they charge in mere minutes now... hoping the manual XL battery will hold out till i can find 3.7 or a 6v mod, a chuck or something else, cheap and local.

BENEFITS THOUGH..... hmmm its easier to NOT have a regular smoke. For me it was the lite up and have the thing, then the need to finish. and with the way i usually smoke i think that's why i blew through that first 30ml bottle in two weeks, see the thing with me is cigarettes i know when to put down or out in the ashtray...
E-cigs i dont... i just keep vaping, i chain vape more than i did when i was smoking but i dont take that hard of drag now.

oh well there's my costs... and if you hadn't noticed, i'm bi-weekly (who here gets that one)

Also the wife is happy with my 808 and wants a PCC kit... i don't know what to tell her on the PCC... its handy. But then again she doesn't chain smoke like i did.

I don't have an exact accounting, but I can tell you that I'm still using my first and only e-cig hardware, my KR808d-1, and I'm well into uh....140 days or so, I think. My kit cost me $75. My first order was about $150, with the kit, cartos and juice from Nhaler.

A month or so ago, one of my batteries died. It wasn't faulty, it was my doing. I was on break at work talking, and not paying attention as I added drops to a carto...so I put the drops in my battery instead. Duh. So, I spent $18 for a mega manual battery.

I also have an ASSLOAD of drops. There's no need, really, for me to buy new drops as I'm sure I have enough to last most of a year. However, I like trying new flavors and vendors, so I buy a couple bottles or so every week. I also ordered some V4life cartos, because I like the idea of them being labeled. Up until that order, I've mainly been ordering vanilla cartos (since that will pretty much go with any drops I have), and chocolate cartos.

My husband also vapes, but not as heavy as I do, so he uses less supplies than I do.

I also ordered my first mod (a Chuck!!) about a month ago, that was $90 total with the battery sleeve and adaptor.

Really though, I don't much care about the cost. Well, I DO, but not as much as I care about the fact that I'm not smoking analogs anymore.

Of course, being paid weekly helps with my shopping frenzy, and I'm lucky in that hubby and I work at the same place, and we make pretty good money.

If I had to guesstimate, I'd say I've spent about...$700-$800 so far?

i just pulled all my cost's from the emails from goodprophets and eliquidplanet... as for juices, i just order a 24mg 30ml bottle and two 5ml 24mg bottles of apple and cherry... just to see what they're like if worse comes to worse they are a lot smaller and easier to carry around than that 30ml bottle....

i do like the kr808 the most but i need MORE power... GG looks good, but then again the simplicity of the "boxmod" looks appealing, ill do that from the guts of the auto battery when it peters out. and chain vaping on 808 autos with the 510 and the 808 is really hurting the batteries. hmmm..... frustrating

My startup cost were way more than what I would have spent on analogs---especially with the supplies stock-up cost.
Since last October, I’ve spent a $100+ on attys and liquid carts that I didn’t really---just stocking up more.
All-in-all, in the last year, I’ve spent less than I would’ve if I stayed on analogs, and I‘ve got supplies for (hopefully) years.
