Welcome, welcome, welcome!
Isn't it great? My wife and were heavy smokers for years and quit the same day our ecigs arrived. Haven't had one since.
Trust me, you do not need to spend a lot of money to get in or stay in. Your first costs are the greatest, just to get the hardware and juice you need. After that it's just pick up an atomizer and battery or two from time to time. Because it was two of us smoking it took about 12 weeks before we broke even. But, after that it has been save, save, save. We've saved half of what it would have cost us to keep killing ourselves with analogs.
The health improvements and pocket savings will show you that you've made the right decision.

If I had it to do over again, (knowing what I do today) for my first purchase, I'd buy:
510 kit (boxless) from Cignot.com $34.00
Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

5 pack of Mega Power 510 batteries (longer in length, and will last about 4 hours)
510 TITAN Electronic Cigarette-Mega Power 5 Manual Battery Multi Packs.

Battery Charger that charges up to 5 at a time batteries from Totally Wicked
E-NI-510 TITAN.5 Battery Mega Charger

Atomizers - SLB 510 MODEL attys from VaporCountry $4.99 (NOT Joye product but seem to work fine) I'd buy at least 5 at this price.
DSE-510 Atomizer(Black)
or
5 pack Joye 510 atomizers from Totally Wicked (on sale right now for $31.99)
510 TITAN Electronic Cigarette 5 x Atomizer Multi Pack - Black & White

A low voltage battery unit (3.7v). I think the Chuck is an excellent value. Will run your atomizer for 2 days on one cheap battery that are available on line from battery stores and run for months. $80 delivered, your choice of model fitting (510 in this case) and your choice of custom colors or you own graphics printed on it. I have 3 of them! THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing! This uses an 18650 Li-Ion battery (I buy the 3000 mAh) and you'll need to purchase a charger for the batteries. Probably about $30 or so for it all. A Little Chuck uses a smaller 16340 battery, (it is a smaller size unit) still runs at 3.7v, but will last about one day(7 hours or so). A multicharger can charge either battery.
Ultrafire 18650 3000mah BUTTON TOP Protected Rechargeable Lithium Battery Li-Ion UF18650-BRC coupon code (BLACK09) that is good for 8% off of your order until 11/17/09 (thanks Angus!)
better deal but may be all out now UltraFire 18650 3.7V 3000mAh Lithium Battery [UltraFire 18650] - $6.42 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! Use discount code HELLENECF10 for 10% off and you get free shipping from HighTechDealz anyway!

charger TL-100 Universal Li-Ion Charger for 18650, 17670 & 16340 cells or TrustFire MultiFunctional TR-001 Lithium Battery Charger [TrustFire] - $11.83 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! (Don't forget the discount code!)

Liquid from Mist-stix ($9 for 30ml use code ECF) http://www.mist-stix.com/category_s/71.htm

And when I could afford it a PCC to charge the small 510 batteries on the go and a passthrough. Wait until someone has a good sale. Hang out in the Supplier's forum and use Discount Codes (which are listed here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tronic-cigarette-coupon-code-master-list.html )

Feel free to PM me if you need any help, or have any questions on the above. Happy to help.

You will figure all that out after you vape for a while .I will tell you one thing though ECIGS ARE NOT CHEAPER THAN ANALOGS .You will probably spend a lot at the start and after you finally figure out what works good for you it will start costing you a little less.I laugh everytime i see those i saved counters ! The only thing you will save is probably your LIFE so it makes every dime well spent !

In the long run, they can be a lot cheaper than analogs.

It's the upfront investment that can really be pricey. If I would have stuck with my basic 510s, and not bought big battery mods or stockpiled attys and juice, I would be ahead already.

Of course, I bought a few shiny toys like the Chuck, Little Chuck, some box mods, etc... and bought a lot of juice and atomizers, so I've spent around $800 since the beginning of September. But it's all downhill from here. I've got just about everything I need to last me a while. I don't have to make any more big purchases. So within 6 months, I should be in a position to say I am saving money.

???? I am sorry but I have to beg the differ with you HUGELY! If you will use the link in my signature it will show you conclusively that e-cigs are cheaper by far than traditional ciggys. On the web page that I did it breaks down every single cent that I have spent on ecigs. It also explains the math formula used to determine what traditional cigs would have cost me. Every cent means every cent is put in the running total and it evens shows what I have spent the money on. Sorry guy, but you are wrong. Start up cost is higher, but over all e-cigs are cheaper.

Depends on where you live and how much cigarettes cost and how crazy you go with PV supplies. Here in Seattle at 6.50-7.00 a pack, E cigs are considerably cheaper. I mean... A LOT.

I spent $2.75 a pack for generics down here in Georgia, and I'll still end up saving money.

Yeah, at almost $70 a week for a carton, that adds up to about $280 per month. Yes, the initial start-up costs are higher for e-cigs, but for myself (and everyone's smoking and vaping habits are different), I average about two to three dollars a day in costs, which, added up over time, will equal about $1400 - $1800 in savings over a year...

We will have saved too- As in, we do still have occassional analogs- But with the amount of cartons we were buying before e-cigs to now... I have only bought 2 cartons since and I didn't buy our regular but the Pall mall nasty generic poo cigs so we don't "enjoy" them & with that.. in the past month and 11 days since we got our first one, I have spent on e-cigs, kits, parts, and liquids $516- I actually have over 500 ml of liquid in various flavors- Plus I just received 60 ml of unflavored-we will mix w/ that and it will multiply... Actually more than enough e-liquid to last us 6 mos or better... (although I have a few other orders planned) I figure in 2 more mos, we will be in the black (because I do have a couple other orders planned) and I also hope at that time that I am no longer buying any analogs... I was spending $400 a month minimum on analogs for the both of us... that doesn't include lighters or butane... (I will leave out the cost of those because we do still use candles and our fireplace so they would be used regardless)-
On top of the money we will save, yeah, I already see a significant difference in our "senses"- smell & taste - As well as the feeling of better breathing, smelling, etc-
I also don't see us getting sick as easily so less doctors trips in the forecast... saving money-
I actually have extra atty's and batts that will probably last us too- but as I see a great sale or coupon will always add a few more to have on hand-
I am still using the first atty I got and used just that one for 3 weeks exclusively before even getting the other one out to use in alternating fashion- I have 3 in use now... the first one and 2nd that came w/ the kit (I got 2 attys)- and now a 3rd in rotation because I got some heavily flavored liquid I didn't want to get mixed w/ others... (recently found a great way to clear the flavor out) so I have 3 attys in packages never used and 3 in rotation- they all perform equally as well (including one I dropped and brought back full force)- I will soon open the last 3 just to try them out... (I hate using them if not needed but recently discovered they can come DOA and want to make sure they are all working)
>>> Excuse my post- they are always long as I have a tendency to over explain or just babble... LOL- but I hope this gives you an idea of costs- and this is for both my husband and myself...
Look at your past spending habit of analogs and track that against your dollar amount of e-cigs and stuff right now...- Definitely have some atomizers and batteries on hand as extra though- you never know when you will need them and that is probably worse to have your hard equipment go down w/o having others on hand...

Great advice, Hellen! I'd do all, but my choice of mod at this point is the bartleby/nicostick by cybervex.

510, 901, 801 Box Mods

And with that, I'd just pass, on the PCC and passthrough. With the money saved there, I'd buy every $4 sampler at Nhaler:
HIGH VOLTAGE SAMPLERS 12Mg 6ml Plastic Dropper Bottles
6 ML Nhale/Xhale Liquid Samplers - 24MG - NHaler

Yeah, Kent... Bartleby looks pretty great, but is so new (and I haven't seen one in person yet) so I hesitate to recommend it till I see how customer service, warranty, etc. is handled after it has been out a few months and has had a good run.

The PCC can come in handy for someone who buys the Cignot kit first. It is fairly inexpensive and will get you through a whole day when out with just 2 batteries. When I first got my 510 I loved it (no battery unit back then), but since I bought the Mega Bats and have the Chucks... I don't use my PCC at all anymore, but there was a few months it was a life saver.

A cheapo passthrough can keep you from tearing your hair out charging a battery every hour with a 510 at home and in the car even with a cheap USB lighter adapter. Again, not mandatory, but man... I loved my first one. Later I bought the PS passthrough, but that is a bit over the top in price for someone new I think. I saw lots of them be resold after new vapors bought them and couldn't use them at 5v.

NHaler samples sound nice! I'll have to give some of those a go. Thanks for posting that link. I didn't know they had them.

I just wanted to give a reasonable priced liquid link to anyone new that feels like they're spending a zillion dollars to vape so gave the most inexpensive US Supplier I knew of (Mist-Styx juice). Can't go wrong there at $9 for 30ml. I was pretty pleased with what I purchased from them.

I should have thrown one in :)

Understood. And I never pulled the trigger on a Chuck either. Looks really well built. I also got a Protege this week which I had on order when viewing the 'saturday night' thread...

You're right - without a 900+mAh batt, the PCC is perfect. I'll have some for sale in classifieds, eventually...

A cheapo passthrough can keep you from tearing your hair out charging a battery every hour with a 510 at home and in the car even with a cheap USB lighter adapter.

Agreed, but that's the beauty of the 'Bartleby' - it has the charger chip included and can be used as a PT with the charging cord just like the Janty Stick. It's what sold me. The on/off switch is really nice feature for carrying too.

Again, not mandatory, but man... I loved my first one. Later I bought the PS passthrough, but that is a bit over the top in price for someone new I think. I saw lots of them be resold after new vapors bought them and couldn't use them at 5v.

I still run two at home - computer and 'tv chair'. In the car, it's the Bart or the JS or both ;-)

NHaler samples sound nice! I'll have to give some of those a go. Thanks for posting that link. I didn't know they had them.

Wow, something else I could have included in your package. Didn't know you didn't know. But yeah, Drew's a master juice chef and the $4 for 6ml samplers are a deal when you're first starting off. You still get to sample some flavors that are 'universal' - Kent, Virginia, Camule!, Marbro, Nuport!! etc. to have an idea of the taste if you end up buying elsewhere

Understood - that is a great price for 30ml and would be a good place to go after Nhaler's samplers for the 'standard' flavors mentioned above, but the $4 per, is a good way to find which one's you like first, and you don't have so much left over on flavors you didn't care for ;-) But then you can always take them to classifieds. Even the samplers - again there will be some of them in with my PCC sale when I get around to that.
