How much cheaper is vaping compared to smoking

Thats just an insane amount to pay for a pack of smokes.

And there's talk they're going up again! I had a smoker ask me about vaping the other day- he smokes 2 packets of 50 cigs per day at a cost of $56 per day (& theyre a cheap & nasty brand) and the guy in the shop where he buys his smokes from said they are going up to $35 per packet ($70 per day!). He was VERY interested in vaping!!

The actual consumption of vape is loads cheaper, it's the equipment you don't really need but just have to have, is what gets spendy, but, if you prorate it, over the lifetime of the equipment, it still is much less expensive!! Ok, Ok, you caught me, just trying to justify buying the Origin mod to go with my Aqua. lmao. Didn't really need to get it, but hey, you know, Prorating is the key!!!

Discounting what I've spent on vaping, I've saved approximately $2,000.00 not buying cigarettes. That's just what I haven't spent on smoking. My saving includes what I've spent on my husband's supplies too, since he started vaping about two months ago. I have not calculated the savings in his not smoking. Am I making sense? LOL

Lets see Vamo3 starter kit 60$ 100ml Juice 44$ 104$ total to start
2 18650 Efest 3100 batteries an additional 25$ new total 129$
100ml lasts about a month soo 44$ a month on juice
Was smoking approx 2 packaday of Maverrik 7.80$ per day X30days = 234$ a month in cig costs
I now have 190$ per month to spend on things other than ciggies and the ashtray is now a loose change holder :)~

I am not quite breaking even yet. I wish I had went with an entry level APV from the start. I have my MVP2 now and the tanks I like so costs should start stabilizing.

I say this as I have two tabs up comparing the SVD and the ProVari Zombie Edition.....

I do like my MVP2 though :vapor:

As other have said, how much you save is up to you. You can gear your vaping habbits to cost pennys a day or dollars a day. I smoked about 30 cigs a day at $4 a pack. I havent had a cig since last december. Look below at my banner. It has the money I saved on analogs. I did the math the other day and ive spent about $1500 to date. Thats about a $1500 savings in 11 months. I could have easily saved more. But I like nice things. I dont collect mods but the mods I do have are nice. My daily mod in a Nemesis with a kick2 and a salt n pepper carto tank. Its about a $400 setup in you figure in tax and shipping.
Now look again at my banner. There is a much more important savings number there. The number of cigs not smoked is about 11, 000. Thats the number I look at. I frankly dont care how much money I spend or save as long as the "analogs saved" number climbs. The whole idea that vaping should cost less than smoking is absurd. Its a wonderful bonus that it is cheaper but its not necessary.

I can attest that I haven't saved too much if any yet, but I'm being fairly good about not spending more. Just on DIY stuff and my current setup was about 300 dollars, not counting maybe 200-300 worth of ego stuff last month. Guess I'm about 500 bucks in. Last month I cut back from PAD to pack every other day, so that was about 75$ saved. This month I haven't bought a pack and saved 105 as of this morning, so I still got about $320 worth of catching up to do. Assuming that I don't buy any more toys (yea right!) I'll be caught up by the end of January. :)

I find that although I'm not saving a ton of money I am having fun and enjoying vaping. I don't mind spending the money I spent on tobacco to find the vendors and flavors that I really like. I've been through a lot of juice and I don't see that slowing down too soon. If I wanted to be frugal I would say I could easily save around 50% and if I wanted to be cheap probably around 75%.

hm lemme tally this up

Kanger evod kit, thats 2 batts + 2 mini protank IIs, charger..and some juice so about $70

some bobas bounty $12
a selection of AiV samples, $12
a bottle from Alhusion, $20
three bottles from Nicoticket plus a bonus bottle, $30 or so (like that bonus bottle, Clark...iz grapey \o/)
some kanthal wire and silica wick (doubt ill use the wick, because): $8 shipped
I got some CVS sterile cotton balls for use in kanthal wire coils $3
5/64th drill bits (package of 2, for wrapping wire to make coils) $2
a Harbor Freight helping hands with LED light (its a big magnifying glass so I can really look at coils close when rebuilding) $7
a crappy Harbor Freight ohm meter, $5

so thats about $170 total, which is 30 packs of smokes...thats about a month and a half of smoking for me

oops, forgot another AiV bottle of juice, a 30ml this time (April Moon) so thats $20 more

so, all in all? about 200 bucks

but...I can redo my coils, so no need for more Kanger heads (which are spotty at best and crap at worst)
I got enough juice for a while, ill use maybe 4ml a day? maybe not even that much. Lets call it three.

hm how much joose do I have...7 3ml samples, 15ml bobas, 2 30s....4 15s from Nicoticket. thats over 150ml total. oh yah, plus the 24mg 5ml bottles I got to start, thats over 150ml easily. Minus what ive used, of course.

so maybe im breaking even if its about 75 bucks a month to smoke, or a little more. I maybe smoked 3/4 of a pack a day or maybe a pack a day.

I figure I have a 2 month+ supply of juice, but we will see how that goes. DIY juice is next.

its absolutely priceless to not smoke, though. its so incredibly bad for you. Radon? Its in smoke. Polonium-210? its in smoke. tobacco smoke is radioactive, folks. (look it up, dont just believe me...look for yourselves)

I dont regret spending any of this at all..ok maybe on the crappy ohm meter (which I guess I can return to HF)
Wish Id started sooner on vaping, but thats ok.

Simple math:

Cost of initial start up kit and supplies + cost of juices
Sum of that minus cost of cigarrettes smoked per day x days in a week, month, year, etc
if the total is positive, you saved money.
if it goes negative, you didn't save money

Each individual person will vary,

IN THEORY, you will save money, But in REALITY, you probably won't due to wanting or "needing" the nice new shiny toys.
