I was skeptical at first until a friend of mine broke it down for me... vaping to replace analogs (not as a hobby) is expensive AT FIRST. I dropped about $70 - $80 on my first day. Bought an iTaste VV 3.0, two EVOD Glass tanks, and three 15ml bottles of juice. It's been nearly a month now and the only money I've spent so far is $7 on 5 replacement atomizer heads. I would smoke about 3 - 4 packs of cigarettes a week, and at about $5.50 a pack, that's ~$88 a month. So the first month was approximately the same price as smoking analogs, but considering what's left of my initial juice purchase will probably last me close to another month, the savings will pile up REAL quick.

LMAO, Initially, sure I thought it would be... Just buying some juice from the local shop once in a while, maybe a couple of batteries, a couple of tanks, and in that case, sure, it would be...

But... Now, after months of quitting, I have over 200 flavors, at least 15 tanks, all variations of glass for testing and cleaning ease, gallons of VG and PG, a few liters of Nic, needless to say, hundreds of dollars later, nope, not even close to being cheaper, but the sheer joy of DIY, is worth every penny...

I've even managed to clone a few juices so far, which is very gratifying... :)

I started a month or so ago and found that Vaping is a good alternative to cigs. Since than I have had to buy several replacement parts which basically makes my pipe new. I'm learning that the starter kit is just that a starter kit. But all said it cheaper than buying a pack a day and the gas to mini mart and it's starting to become a hobby. One bottle of juice is the cost of a pack of cigs. This will last me all week. As long as I'm not buying a bunch new pipes and parts and stick to my primary pipe I feel its a big saving on the so called analogs cigs plus I feel a whole lot better.

The way I look at it, it may or may not be cheaper depending on your situation, but it's way more interesting and safer than smoking. Buying new gadgets and new flavors is way more interesting than going to the store to buy yet another pack of smokes. Plus there is vape mail! Everyone hates waiting for their next package of shinies but when it finally arrives, HOORAY IT'S HERE!

I only spent about $60/month on cheap cigars so in 7 months I haven't saved any money but I've got quite a few cool gadgets and lots of juice. I could stop spending for a few months. I could, if I wanted to.

So true! And even though I started vaping to quit smoking, it's way too much fun! I find myself traking shipments almost every two weeks! (I'm so bad! ) It's a great feeling when you open your mailbox and you see the little packages! The first time it happened was when I got my iTaste VV V3, so beautiful! Awesome device BTW! Now I'm impatiently waiting for my iTaste MVP 2 in "Petals" from the Energy Line, it's MY birthday present to meeee! :hubba:

I hope in a few weeks my vaping expenses eventually balance out, where I'm spending less than what I used to spend in cigarettes! :p

For me, despite my excessive vape gear purchases I spend way less than the $2500 annually I used to spend on smokes, and that was at California prices, If you're a smoker and live in New York vaping will be way way less than smokes…but the bottom line, no pun intended, depends how nuts you go on vape gear, if you buy $400 GLAS mods and or $400-$800 box mods and have to have the latest and greatest naturally you'll spend more…

 I have so much trouble with this, that's why I don't go that often to the local store, to avoid temptation! But then, the online stores' prices are so cheap! At the beginning I got just what I needed; later I found what was available online, and there are so many great things at such incredible prices, so many flavor options!

Thankfully, the newness starts wearing off, and the MVP 2 will be it for me. (I don't think I can handle anything more advanced than that)

Next step (in a few weeks, or maybe sooner)... Rebuilding my coils!

That is the best thing I ever did with vaping. 28g K1, 30g K1, bag of organic cotton, little bit of silica wick, nail clippers and you are off and running. All the other tools you can build up as you go.

Check out my banner. I've avoided buying 14,745 analogs. That equates to 737.25 packs of cigarettes. Let's say conservatively that each of those packs costs 5$. That means I would have spent 3,686.25$ had I never started vaping. Realistically that number is probably closer to 5,000$.

I've bought a provari, batteries, a few egos, a mod or two, a few hundred dollars worth of flavorings, nicotine, gallons of VG/PG, as well as an assortment of different atomizers and accessories. If I had to guess I'd say I've spent no more than 2,000$ on vaping. Keep in mind that I haven't even put a dent in all the VG/PG/Nicotine I've stockpiled. It will take 10 years or more for my supplies to run out. At that time my 'money not spent on analogs' will probably be closer to 15,000-30,000$

Roughly estimating I've saved myself 28,000$ by switching to vaping, probably more. That's not even factoring the money I will save after I run out and re-up on my stockpile. Yes, I definitely think that vaping is cheaper.
