I smoked 4 packs a day...always had one stuck in my face. I smoked really cheap Seneca cigs...like $20 a carton. So $8 a day. I would have had myself committed if I had to pay $55-60 for a carton of Marlboro's.
If buying locally they would have cost me about $10.80 a day for 1.5 packs per day.

We spent $200-$250 a month. My husband smoke a PAD and I smoked about half a PAD.
my wife and i smoked about 1.5 pad between us. cost was about 180-200 per month.
I smoked a PAD at almost $5.00 a pack. I should have quit way back when they hit 50 cents a pack.
in GA they are $6. A pack would last me about 2 days. I moved from mass where they were close to $9
In PA, my brand name menthols $6.60, hubs unfiltered desert ship $7.33, so $14/day. How much did that suck. Hubs is on alternating smoking & vaping, he's down to about a pack a week 
In NJ when I was about 5 yrs old, Pop sent me every day for 2 packs of the unfiltered, red circle type, with a quarter & a nickel!
Average day... two packs of Pall Mall Red 100s at almost $5 a pack... and that was not being able to smoke at work, except during breaks. Weekends were at least a little more.
I remember back in the late 70's when I asked to buy a carton of cigarettes at a shop in the Port Authority Bus Station(Or was it Penn Station for the train?) in New York City. "We can sell you a carton, but you'll have to pay the same as buying ten packs... so, it'll come to $8.90."

$8.00 a pack and 2 a day...smoked for 18 years......so about $15.00 a day...Its funny when I started smoikng cigs it was $2.00 a pack.....
In the late 60's I earned $1.67 an hour and cigs were $2.50 a carton.... figured I would have to quit if they hit $5 a carton.... by the time they hit $5 I was making more than that an hour so thought I was gaining on them.... now I would have to work 2+ hours to buy a carton, if I was still smoking.... Wow

HAHA! I used to go to New Hampshire to get a carton CHEAPER for $55. For the most part though I would buy one pack at a time. That works out to $83 a carton in ma. but hey I guess it could have been worse I could have been buying in canada.Right Remit?
I just did the math for a month and it was $240. holy crap. all those years smoking I never wanted to know so I guess I blocked it out. that and they go up every time you blink in mass. who can keep up.
I totally know what you mean. I had packages coming mostly everyday from like week's 2-5 sometimes multiple a day. Im still not done. just slowing down a bit....maybeNow as far as saving.... not yet
