I would like to know vaping what mg at what amount would be equal to a pack of say marlboro or newport anologs. (ballpark)???
I have this saved in a email to myself posted from somewhere by another member. Hope it helps.
In round figures here it is: one real cig. is 1 mg. of nicotine, so one pack is 20 mg. At 20 mg. per ml., you can vape one ml. to equal one pack of smokes. It's pretty easy. So, 2 ml. per day is about equal to 2 packs of cigs. So, a 10 ml. bottle should last 5 days. You should consume 60 ml. per month. That's it...put simply. Incidentally, 1 ml. is equal to about 20 drops, so one drop approx. equals one cig. See, it doesn't matter if you top off or how often, just watch your overall daily consumption.
Actually, the analog has 1.4 to 1.9 mgs of nicotine per cigarette.... Regardless of whether it is a full, light, or ultra-light. A lot of smokers misconstrue that the Light and ultra-light mean that the analog will contain less nicotine.. This is not the case, light and ultra-light refer to the additives in the analog that reference flavor as in full flavor or light flavor.
Each pack of analogs contains roughly 28 to 36 mgs of nicotine...( The difference here being brand, manufacturer, and added flavors like menthol and fruit/candy flavors which lower the nicotine concentration) but due to the absorbtion rate of smoking an analog to our bodies being 88% and further, evaporation of a portion of the analog while we are not dragging on it.... which constitutes 5 to 10 percent on top of the 88%.. Therefore, cutting the actual range of our absorbtion to 20-28 mgs of nicotine relative to the amount we smoked.
I would say that it is fair to compare 1ml of juice to a pack of analogs... the actual is finite at 1.4 mls.. and the standard daily consumption that is suggested to be within reason is 3 mls., even though unofficial studies point out that vaping actual has an absorbtion rate above 90%. The only difference here is that we are not only tricking our bodies off the nicotine effect of analogs... but there are several additives in an analog that the body grows a tolerance to and craves. Ammonia to name one!!! This is why a lot start oin the high side of nic... Say 24 and 36 mg.. and then, most of those folks try to find a happy place at the median.. Say, 11 to 18 mgs for a while til they level out.... and continue further for some but everyone has their individual style and reason for vaping... These things you will have to develop for yourself, like a little program and go from there!!
Thank you for posting this. I looked and looked for one of your post and have seen them where you explain this stuff many times. Thanks again.![]()
In my research "Off this site" per a doctor: 1 cig=10mg of nic. approx: 10% is actually absorbed.
So about 1mg per cig of a Marlboro Red. (I have actually read "1mg" on advertizments.) This is probably average, and pulling it away from your mouth more than just sucking on the thing every breath(, I assume).
I was an ultra-light smoker, 1-1.5 packs a day. I am GREAT with 11-18mg eLiquid, yet I use it more than I should and get WAY more than I need(, to much in fact). I have to cut everything down to about 6-9mg because it is so convenient, and I LOVED to smoke, and now can't get enough vapor.
LOL - I love reading all of these!
As I read them I remain convinced that you can't simply equate vaping to smoking. It is my firm belief that you will find your level for vaping in time. You will find what frequency of vaping and what level of nicotine is best for you.
There are several problems in trying to equate vaping to smoking. First and foremost there are so many more variables in vaping! We have liquids of various strengths and bunches of different PVs. Each one is going to deliver a different amount of nicotine.
Most people get around 12 puffs off of a cigarette - so you could say that however much liquid is used by your PV to provide 12 puffs would be equivalent to one cigarette. That is regardless of the nicotine level!
And if you want to consider the actual nicotine in your system you would have to account for absorption rates, how you smoked your cigarettes, and what strength liquid you are using. There is simply NO easy answer to this question!
Regardless of where you end up, you will always be better off than if you were smoking as much as you did before! It doesn't really matter if you quit smoking altogether or if you vape constantly or anything else. As long as you are vaping instead of smoking some of the time you are going to suffer fewer health risks.
