How much have you spent on devices to date ?

Holy crap, $470 in about three weeks. $60 initially for an eGo rig and ejuice, and shortly thereafter $170 on mods and batteries. About $150 of the total was DIY supplies so the run-rate should taper off pretty fast.

OTOH that's only around 9 1/2 weeks of smokes at $7/pk (American Spirit in SoCal aren't cheap).

(Another Holy Crap - I was spending how much a month on smokes? Wow.)

Spent about $30 on my first vaping experiment (Greensmoke, which gave me mixed results). Then about $140 on a Halo Triton Kit and assorted juices/accessories.

A week or so later, and so far the Triton has almost completely replaced my 2+ pack-a-day smoking habit. I still smoke one cigarette in the morning, because I feel like the instant hit of nicotine helps me to wake up, but after that it's vapor or nothing. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The nice thing is that I spend (spent) so much money on cigarettes (~$4,000 per year) that I could spend almost anything on vaping and still come out ahead. Even if I don't ultimately quit smoking, as long as I use all of the nicotine liquids I bought I'll have saved money in the short term.

I always make a point of hitting the vapour real hard first thing in the morning and always look forward to it. Maybe you should up your nicotine level for when you get out of bed. .

Good luck !.

OMG, these replies are frightening! I spend about £60 a month on roll-ups: I use herbs (yes, herbs, nothing interesting!) mixed with tobacco. Trouble is, the tar level's astronomical if my fingers, teeth & cough are anything to go by. I've had no success with an e-cig yet, but thought it'd be better for me to try again.

Not at this expense, though!!

As of today, I am around 400.00 dollars. It's a lot but let me explain.

The first one I bought was the blu rechargeable kit x 2 because I lost the first one. So roughly 75.00 with tax. That did not blow my skirt up. So then I went with V2 99.99 dollars for a kit that was just bad tasting and gave me headaches. My third system the Evod I spent 89.99 for the kit. 1 extra battery, 5 extra tanks, 3 pro tanks, 5 boxes of coils to fit all tanks, 5 50 ml bottles of juice. So as of now I am round 400.00 dollars.

Believe it or not, I have saved about 50.00 dollars though, I would have spent that much just in cigarettes at the gas station and with all the items I have I am good for the next 2 months.

Since I started vaping almost 5 years ago, I'd say I spent easily $3,000 just on materials not counting juice. Max on gadgets I would say 4 grand, In between them numbers most likely, and I probably regret spending about $500 of that on junk and crap I could have lived without.

I spent a $130 more just tonight alone, and about $600 in the past month, so for all I know these numbers could be higher, I decided to go on a little binge as of late! Lol

After this binge I most likely won't be going on another for another 6 months or so.

Right at $200 in the month or so I've been at this. I've got most of the hardware I want (MVP2, couple egos, couple evods, iclear30 and a UDCT carto setup), from here on out it's just juice, coils/cartos and the occasional new tank. My wife set me at a $40/ month budget from here on out to make sure I'm actually saving $$ over smoking...

1.5 weeks vaping, about $400. I'd been sort of thinking about ecigs for a while and somewhat impulsively grabbed a Blu starter kit at a warehouse club instead of a carton of butts. I knew right away I wasn't going to be happy with the Blu but stuck with it while I researched (thank you ECF members) and decided to go right to a ProVari mini. My husband is happy because not only am I not smoking, I told him he's up-to-date on the birthday and anniversary presents he owed me (not his fault, I told him to wait until I knew what I really wanted) and I'll be able to give him a nice list of what to get me for Christmas!

i dont really count. my intention is to quit smoking not to save money by not smoking. plus vaping is fun so im willing to spend on it :2cool:

The reason i'm asking is to try to provide the information to new users about how much vaping might cost. Whether it's in the long or short term the information given by members could give new users an idea of what it takes financially.

It's Funny.

When I decided to try to Quit Analogs using a e-Cigarette, I told myself that Even If I spent the same amount on e-Cigarettes that I did on Analogs (~$175/month), that it would be Worth it. Because Analogs were Slowly Killing Me.

Except for the 2 Times I have Bought a Provari, I have Never come close to Exceeding that $175/month Amount.

In Fact, After the Crazy first 6 months or so of Buying a New Starter Kit Every Month, I haven't even come Close.

So you used to spend $175 on tobacco a month.........

.... !!!!!!!!!!!!

In england illegal foreign imports of tobacco are common. Ordinarily a legit packet of tailor made cigarettes cost about 7 or so pounds. Personally i used to smoke with hand rolling tobacco. Hand rolling tobacco, when illegally imported, can be purchased in england for about £7 too. So rather than paying £13 pound for 50 grammes of hand rolling tobacco it could cost as little as £7.

Now i vape i spend about £10 a week on e liquid. When i smoked i'd spend about the same on tobacco. So i smoked about 75 grammes of tobacco a week. It's very common in england for people to use illegally imported tobacco products. I don't save any money vaping and i couldn't care less for the same reasons anybody else doesn't. I never gave up smoking to save money and i doubt anyone else did either.

If you would be so kind, would you please just state how much you have spent on hardware since you started vaping !.

Is it me or is there a misinterpretation of the op.

Egads... I think of it in terms of trips to the shop...

First one... 85 bucks, got an Igo Ismoka kit and a bottle of Halcyon Tribecca

Next trip down was picking up 8 different juices and a couple spare tanks (160)

3rd trip, RDA and a mechanical mod and 4 more juice bottles (200)

4th trip was a VMM a Kangertech, and 2 carto tanks.. oh and my go-to juice I picked up 4 bottles (250)

Last trip down was just juice... 4 bottles 60 bucks.

So, 700 bucks in 2 month... so looking at it the other way.

I bought a carton every 5 days for 55 bucks.

It has been 50 days, so 10 cartons... 550 bucks.

Turns out I have spent exactly 205 more than I smoked, however I have juice enough to last me 2 months, and I am finally happy with the gear I have.

So, I am roughly 52 dollars ahead of where I would have been smoking.

And I feel better.

My kids comment that I no longer stink.

I made the right choice, like everything I do I go at it hard to get it right, then I tend to settle in. I have enough gear to supply 4 people to quite smoking, however long and short of it is that I carry 1 rig in my pocket and fill it up every night. I have spare gear and I switch between the VMM and the mechanical mod fairly often, it is all a matter of what I am doing (I run 6mg juice in my magoo/mechanical and 12mg in my carto/provari if I am jonesing I hit the higher mg to kill the urge then switch back to the magoo for maintenance). not bad for 2 months.

You come a long way in 2 months !
