Hey guys. Just wondering your thoughts on this. I was a heavy smoker, 2 packs a day but now that I'm vaping it seems I'm vaping CONSTANTLY. I vape at 18 mg and I'm wondering if I can be giving myself some nicotine poisoning by vaping so much?

Thanks for any input!!!

Justine  )

I have been vaping like that since Dec 24-30mg. I have been vaping since 2009 and have been off analogs since last Dec. I you feel sick or dizzy then you may have a problem, I never have. Always remember to drink a ton of water. Hope this helps

You'll know when the nic level is too high and/or you're vaping too much. It isn't going to kill you and certainly not instantly :D

As someone else said, if you're getting dizzy, take a break. If you're getting headaches, lower your nic amount. People vape 36mg and have no problems. There has been zero deaths due to overdose or e-cigs period since it was invented in 2004. Just vape and enjoy yourself.

You're vaping too much when you start looking for containers at the store (where you hate to go shopping at) to store your juices in.

You're vaping too much when you can't see out your windshield.

You're vaping too much when you hope that the long dread stop light holds off just a minute longer so you can drip.

You're vaping too much when you can't see your computer monitor to read what's going on in ECF.

***Just kidding...you're body will tell you if you are or not. Headaches, dizziness, upset stomach are all symptons of nic OD.

well how much do you vape a day in ml ? Marb would be around 24mg a pack ish so in theory 1ml of 24mg would be a pack. Personally i vape at 36mg around 3-5 ml daily and was a pack a day smoker . So what i vape is = 7 packs with this theory

Whoa, now this isn't completely true. The nic amounts might be but you're leaving out the fact that cigarettes have additional chemicals to make nicotine intake in the body much much larger such as ammonia and levulinic acid. An actual comparison of nicotine intake in the body is quite different from volume to nicotine received when comparing e-liquid to a cigarette.

thats is true but this is how the liquid is represented for the nic levels. I do not think anyone could smoke more than 3 packs a day.

This is tricky because without a comparison to base these results (i.e. cigarettes) it is hard to identify how much nicotine one is taking in when comparing mL/mg. The thing is though that e-liquid isn't cigarettes and a lot of people who aren't familiar with e-cigs don't know the difference. There needs to be (and probably will be) a new way of measuring how much nicotine someone is actually absorbing into their bloodstream and tissue (mL/mg) but at the moment, that comparison with cigarettes is all people have to go by (and I believe it's our responsibility as vapors to inform how it's different).

Once again i am agreeing, it is true that the level of nic has to do with the absorption rate and metabolism burn off is also a factor among other things.

I know you're agreeing :D I was just making more of the conversation. Really I think it's bad that the only thing we have to compare this with is cigarettes, but that's the whole point right? An alternative to smoking cigarettes.

I might have a different perspective. I started vaping after quitting smoking for over 4 years. I only had 12mg nicotine juice on hand and when I started vaping it did not make me feel buzzed or sick. Once I had taken one drag from an analog (which I did 3 years earlier) and the nicotine and other chemicals made me so sick I had to lay down for hours. I never could wear a nicotine patch as they made me sick so when I quit I quit cold turkey. I have since gone to 4mg nicotine and Omg nicotine but don't feel the difference. I really don't feel you absorb very much nicotine with PV's. As time goes on (and I have only been vaping a few months) I find some days I vape alot and some days not so much. It is just my own little friendly stress reducer. Perhaps that is why you vape so much- you are not getting the nicotine that you used to get to achieve that feeling of wellness when you are stressed. I agree with others that you should up your nicotine level.

125 days without a stink stick and I vape 24/30/36mg, (depending on vendor) pretty much non stop all day.
Always have a PV (or two) in my hand or in shirt pocket.
No problems with sleep or any other side effects that i notice.
Also know-it still not as much Nic as I was getting off Marl's.
And sometimes still feel like i need even more. (grab the 36mg and the 5V then )-works so far.

You guys have all been so fantastic with your responses. Thank you!!!!! I haven't had any of the symptoms of nicotine OD, but I worry because I rarely have the PV set down for more than a few minutes at a time unless I'm eating, sleeping, or cleaning. When it's not in my hand, it's stuck between my teeth (thank you plastic drip tips!)!

You will get sick if you start to OD on it, one thing to look at is how much you get on your hands, I was getting sick, and I found it was not due to vapping but getting the juice on my hands, then rubbing them together.

I then started taking wipes with me and using them, and then I found no matter how much I vap I don't get sick anymore, the juice goes into your system through the skin, so now I also used that as away to boost nic as well.
