I've found that I don't particularly like throat hits and don't care about tons of vapor so I would prefer to maximize flavors. Mostly, I see flavor discussed as an afterthought so I'm still awfully confused. Does nicotine inhibit flavor? What is the best PG/VG mix for the best flavor. Any other suggestions?

In my experience and from what I've heard from others, PG tends to carry flavour more than VG. PG also adds to the TH. VG is thicker than PG and produces more vapor. The higher the nicotine level, the more TH.

Finding your sweet spot for the ratio will really be up to you. I would suggest trying samples of different ratios from a juice vendor that will do that. ECBlends is one that I know that allows you to pick your own ratio by 10% increments (80/20, 70/30, 60/40, etc.). They also let you add extra flavour and even mix flavours if you like. 5ml for $2.50. I know there are other vendors that work similarly as well, I just don't remember any names off the top of my head.

I'm not a big TH junkie and prefer more flavour as well. Most of my favourite juices are 70/30, some are 60/40. Most that I get from ECBlends I go with the double extra flavour too.

Thanks so much for all the helpful information. I've been looking on the EC Blends website but was at a total loss as to what to order. You've given me a great place to start trying custom blends.

EC Blend's default flavor is pretty light. I would select the double extra flavor option on my next order.

tj99959, I feel somewhat odd as I find that I prefer a setting of 3.8 for my Boge LR cartomizers (2.0 ohm) and as well as my CE4s (2.1 - 2.4 ohm) for flavor while the rest of the world seems to prefer something in the 4.2 range. The 3.8 setting is the lowest that produces any appreciable vapor and I do notice a loss of flavor when going higher.

Robin, dripping is my next project to learn. However, the idea of having to futz with dripping three drops at a time sounds highly unappealing. For now, I'm seeing how the Vision Eternity with a 30-40 drop capacity pans out before ordering anything. I ordered a multimeter and some Mini Vivi Novas so I can practice rebuilding on those while waiting for Vision Eternity reviews.

evildee, thanks so for the confirmation about ordering extra flavor for EC Blend juices. Using a heavy hand with even expensive, natural extracted flavorings when cooking can result in some pretty nasty tasting stuff so I would have been very wary of trying extra flavor without guidance.

From the first draw I will never forget how vastly superior I found the taste of vaping over cigarettes. Interestingly, that cigarette-like juice with a great throat hit turned out to be one of my least favorites. I prefer "soft" flavors with no harshness and little to no throat hit. Since most people are after good throat hits I expect that I will need to do quite a bit of trial and error experimenting rather than depending on reviews to find flavors I like.

Thanks again for everyone's help. Now I feel as though I will be able to at least narrow down my choices when trying out new flavors.

MrGypsy, thanks so much for your suggestions. I ordered a plain Joye 510 atomizer and gave it a go. Oh my! Now I see why people are willing to futz with dripping two to three drops of juice at a time. I immediately started fervent prayer for the Eternity not to turn out to be one of those too good to be true things. If the flavor is as good as the Joye 510 atomizer I will be in vape heaven.

there is a couple things that will give you more flavor
a drip tip
lower voltage
higher vg content
a good vendor(lol)

I usually go with a 50/50 or 70/30 from LOTS OF VAPOR and I really can taste it. Ive had a big problem where I wouldnt be able to taste flavors till i tried LOTS OF VAPOR.

VG mutes the flavor more than PG. You will get less flavor running a higher VG liquid.

Thank you. That was my understanding. Also, I have read that PG increases throat hit as well as increasing flavor. I am looking for less throat hit and more flavor so I'm expecting to have to do quite a bit of experimenting to find a good balance. My idea is to try a 50/50 mix and go from there. It is also my understanding that nicotine is not a friend of flavor so I'm going down from 18 mg to 12 mg.

My experience with flavors--each made the ejuice taste slightly different:

In a cartomizer, 2.4 ohm (measured), my ejuice tastes best at 3.8 volt
In a Phoenix, with 2.4 ohm coil, same ejuice tastes best at 3.3 volt.
A different LR atomizer (don't remember ohms), 3 volt seemed to be the spot--same ejuice.

Seeing mention of 'extra flavor' is giving me an idea...order with extra flavor, and taste a few drops. Then try again, with 2 drops ejuice, 1 of plain VG (6 oz for $4 at Walmart) or PG, and taste this way. Try with different amounts of ejuice/VG/PG. The extra flavor will compensate for the dillution, and give me a chance to try different PG/VG combinations, so I'd know which mix to order next time.

those settings and ohms work out to 6.016666667 watts
and 4.5375 watts.
Those are both well inside the good vape window which as it turns out is pretty big dependent on the atty type and juice.
