ok i use to smoke 3 packs a day...chain smoker
well, i carried that with my vaping..i vape continueously (speeling eeks)
I have tried to stop chain vaping and having a difficult time of it. I go thru tons of ejuice and cartos and burning out my batteries and quite frankly my vaping is as expensive as my smoking is,,,,doesnt help of corse with me wanting everything i see...
vaping is fun for me. i like it....but now i gotta start controling it
I began vaping as a means to an end...to stop smoking
Little did i know that quitting smoking would bring me into a huge awsome cool pv world that I love love love!!
BUT
I gotta slow it down, vape occasionally my purse cannot handle the way i vape it also cant handle a more moderate vaping,,,i can handle occasional vaping though

Does anyone have advise for me on this. I smoked for gosh 30 yrs and the last 15 yrs was chain smoking,,,so its the habit of chain vaping thats getting me. uuuggggggg

My ideal is to maybe a couple times a day and maybe as a morning and evening treat to vape a litte and relax....thats what i am going for

I have tried and well, i would slip and have a cig.
Thanks :) :vapor:

Hi there Amy ! Welcome to The Women's Room !!!!

A lot of us were long time smokers..40+ years for me !

Have you got your nic down to 0 yet ?
If not...try notching it down 2-5 mg per 4 or 6 weeks....

Do you refill your cartos ?
If not..do so...it is a lot more cost efficient !

Find a PV that hits it right for you...sell (or swap)the other stuff in the forum classifieds...and quit buying ! (hardest part !)

Don't rush it !!!! You smoked for 30 years.....knock the nic level down first ! You have already shown yourself you will grab a cig (and it sounds like you don't want to do that !)

Now...an about face here...what nic do you vape ? It may be too low for your needs right now !

We're here ! (hugs)

Hi Amy,

My vaping and need for nicotine has gradually slowed down (I smoked 30+ years 1 1/2-2pAD) . I do notice that i vape more at lower nicotine levels- so i agree with Classy's about face. I'd think that if you're trying to decrease the amount of time that you're vaping a slightly higher level would work better.

Another suggestion would be that rather than trying to cut back to 3 times a day from chain vaping, decrease gradually. Set your PV slightly out of reach so you can't vape without thinking about it. pick it up take a few drags, set it down again. Then delay for a minute or two. Gradually increase the time you delay the next set of drags and start moving the pV further away. IMO doing it gradually will take away that sense of deprivation that might come with trying to cut back.

wow
great advice
THANK YOU!
i have 24mg for those intense want a cig time. my main vape is 18mg (menthol and a reg. tobacco). my "fun vapes" (the bananas, chocolates and colodas and vapes like that) are about 6-8mg.

I did start vaping across the board at 24mg then i slowly went down with them all
got to 6mg and 0mg but then i crashed real hard and smoked decided i need the high nic for a while. had to think,,,do i want away from cigs or do is it the nicotine i need to concentrate on....i figured,,,get away from cigs.
I did notice an increase in wanting to vape more, if that were possible, when on the way low nic.

Thanks for both of your suggestions...

it will be sooo difficult not to buy, even tho i cannot afford it i still manage to buy more uuuggg..so gotta get rid of that. and putting away the extra pv's hard to do but will do that (selling these is great idea) I do like having my 4 or 5 pv's going but i do believe i will cut it to two pv's going for now.
I do have that one pv that does hit the sweet spot and does the job....its not the ecig kind, so i gotta say buy to the ecig stick/mini style.
I do refil and prefer that over prefilled cartos. The ejuice, there are sooo many good tasting ones, i cant resist, but now i do. uuugg llololol

Ok i promised myself i wouldnt whine lol

having the pv's not readily in front of me will help greatly (yes i do have them with me constantly) the delay is a great idea, i will do that

I will do these things as my first step i sooo appreciate you guys chiming in,,,,,i feel i can get ahold of this.

Amy 1st of all congrats on quitting that is the biggest step! My suggestion I am only a newb but finding I LOVE vaping more than I ever did smoking, is to cut down a bit. My high stress days yes I vape 24 mg! I have a few bottles of that. My usual is 18mg. When I noticed I am too hopped up I'll make some 0mg and that just passifies (spelling?) my want to just enjoy what I am doing. Have you considered DIY? I bought some nic juice reuse my bottles, reuse my cartos & use my passthru almost all the time. I had a battery die on me a week ago, and I am not missing it, I use my passthru when I am in my room, in the car & when I know I will be near a electrical outlet. I still have 1 batery & am awaiting a couple more. DIY is really easy, you get some nic juice cut it with VG & add some flavor. Or just some VG and flavoring btw! I swear even though I quit analogs I am making an initial investment & now I a just happy making what I need & I know if I need it and it's there. The spending has slowed considerably now that I feel I have what I need, to survive. I am a college student & my budget is sucky.
Also I agree with what the other ladies said, the long timers have had some time that I have not. But I can tell you what is working for me & that's what I put above. My passthru is my friend, make some 0 and enjoy what you enjoy & stop feeling guilty! VG cost 3-4 bucks at Walmart, you can get some flavorings wherever you can get Loranns in your area, and if you cruise the classifieds like I did I found a bottle of 50/50 VG/PG 100mg 120mls for $55! That is gonna last me for a VERY long time! You can do this on a budget if you are willing to do some foot work. I hope this helps!

ok,,,so u do the classifieds here
i get a little weird buy ejuice,,,is it safe...people going to mess with the ejuice,,,,i get a little paranoid that someone is gonna mess with ejuice when they sell ejuice.
yes you have helped
Thanks ALOT
so,,,,ejuice on classifieds good then? and lol footwork does not bother me at all...i learn a lot on those ventures :)

Step one..do you have a mod of any kind..even a $23.00 box mod? They do last longer and the batteries are protected batts that last forever. (they look like aa batteries but are NOT. They are proteced and rechargable. Try Battery Junction. Now you have a long life system.
Step two..A giant bottle of P.G. (a gallon I think) can be had at feed stores..they use it to help cows in distress from eatting. It's about $20.00. Juicy Juice has no flavor P.G. nic juice as do Electonicstix and a few others. You have flavoring.
Step three... get some sunflower seeds, sugar free lolly pops, cut up veggies anything you have to pick and chew (and not make you fat!)
Step four...delay your first vape of the day. I try not to vape until after dinner..unless I am in the car with hubby who smokes.
Step five...stay busy! Busy hands don't need nic, or hand to mouth.
Step six.. just relax..doo breathing exercizes, yoga (yeah right) long baths..groom your animals, what ever you do to relax.
Step seven..don't let stress throw you, it's just an easy way in for the devil cigarette. Your mind will try it's best to trick you into smoking because nic and all the other crap in cigarettes feed your pleasure and claming centers. Eat some chocolate..it does the same thing! I like the sugar free chocolate when I stress.
step eight..get on here..talk to us! I know without this forum I could not have made it! Listen to the ladies here..great group!
Good luck and welcome!

Thanks everyone...gonna do this!

just make sure you are not pushing yourself too hard too fast-

and stupid as it sounds, if you get a vape you dont like alot, you wont vape it unless you NEED the nic.

I would reserve the good tasting stuff for a 30 minute time after dinner, and when the kitchen is clean- or when I am sitting down to have my glass of wine at night, or after everyone goes to bed, the house is clean and I am enjoying my ME time!

BUt, DONT push it- if you push too hard too quick, you will push yourself RIGHT back into analogs.

the main thing is- control your buying. if you have enough juice, to last you a month- quit buying- set aside 50 cents a day (thats 10% of what you spent on analogs right?) and when enough money is in that jar, buy you a new flavor-

set limits for yourself. give yourself a goal- find the most expensive pair of high heels you can find- or a nice watch, or decide on a car detailing (to get the nasty smoke smell out) and say THATS my goal- save enough money to buy THAT- with only 40 or 50% of your actual cigarette budget. and dont use your actual DEBIT card to purchase stuff- get one of those Visa cards from walmart- that you have to load- every few weeks put some money on it. or use your paypal account to do the same thing-

but do this gradually- vape till your blue in the face- just dont buy- the newness will wear off some- then start setting it out of reach- or using a not so appealing flavor-

i've been vaping for 2 yrs. haven't had a cigarette in about 22 months. yes it's a means to an end for me also, but i see no need to hurry myself. I no longer freak out if a battery is still red on the charger lol. i remember those days well!

i vape low nic and high nic. going to low makes me hit it continually. being over 50, i'm not giving up nicotine. Too much alzheimers and dementia in my family tree, so i'm not taking a chance ;-)

for saving $$. Definitely get a mod that is reliable if you can afford one down the road. it saves on battery purchases. I still have my original 18650 batteries going strong after a year and a 1/2. 2 batteries for around $9. from dealextreme.

Then pick an atomizer that you really like and stick with it daily. Keep it clean by blowing it out, keep your battery charger and batteries clean, make your own juice or diy up commercial juice, and it really is cheap to vape that way. Once i found my fav atomizers, i just keep a few new ones on hand. no need to buy a bazillion. they'll be available when i need them. I buy them at heavens-gifts.com when i need them.

steer clear of daily sales on ECF lol. there will always be another one. Buy what you need at the time, not what you want.

that's about all i can think of off the top of my head. oh yeah, a mason jar full of tootsie roll pops and dum dums for when i'm vaping just to vape. my rule of thumb for knowing if i really need nicotine has been, 'would i smoke a cigarette right now, or am i nic'd up'. the thought of a cigarette lets me know, "i'm good" :p

i also vape flavorless if i'm hooked on 'desert vapes' ;-) I think flavors are more addicting than nicotine.
