I think maybe I'm doing too much vaping ~ sometimes it's almost constant in order to simply avoid the thought of lighting up a cig ~ but it's probably still better than smoking 3/4 pack per day.

It is definitely better than smoking - vape as much and often as you need to keep smoke free :thumb:

OK time for some history: vaping for 18 months. As a smoker, I chain smoked 2 or 3 at a time, and easily got through 10 or 15 smokes with my morning coffees. My smoking, then lessoned throughout the rest of the day.

As for how I vape now (15w mtl) - from when I wake up to when I go to work 2 or 3 hours later - I chain vape. Actually chain-breathing would be a better description for the first hour ;) I easily would do 10 inhales, stop for a drink of coffee, then 10 inhales more and so on.

Rest of the day, I'm not chain vaping as badly - 4 or 5 inhales, 10 minute break, repeat.

Man I'm usually filling my lungs with three or four inhales before I exhale. I smoked that way too. Regardless how long I stop smoking if I start again I'm back to chain smoking almost immediately. Then I quit by chain vaping.

The day I bought my first packet of cigarettes I smoked them all in one day. After that it was onwards and upwards. If I could regulate my vaping I would have regulated my smoking which is just not how I'm programmed. I can stop. I have before and I will again but I can't regulate. I stopped drinking and drugging because I can't regulate. So I vape like a mental case and will until my next 'break'.

Balance is something I see briefly as I swing from one extreme to the other. Doesn't bother me much now though. I'm flawed but I don't rob, steal, kill, con or beat my kids so what the hell. I shoulda died 15 years ago anyway so every day is a win.

My gran hung a lighter round her neck on a chain and probably only used it a few times a day as she lit one cigarette from the other. She was the most extreme smoker I ever saw.

If level 1 is chaining continuously all day and level 10 is just a brief bout, then perhaps your a level 7 chain vapor. Level one is also someone who wakes up every hour to vape[emoji39]

Chain-breathing huh? I often resemble that remark. Or how about a'couple a'three casual pulls…ehhh, switch devices and a'couple a'three more, rest, refill, repeat. Makes for a nice movie time. Maybe interrupted by copious handfuls of popcorn. The Walking Dead seems to encourage it. Also helps with intense bouts on the ECF experience.

    Good luck. :)

safe distance from a black hole
Maybe I use the term chain vaping inaccurately.
When I first started vaping I vaped non stop, all day. As soon as I had a pang for a cig I would puff on the vape. Every where I went I carried vapes.
I had pangs for cigarettes non stop when I started vaping, I was inhaling more nicotine than I had at any time in my life and I still wanted a cigarette.
Eventually I didnt have the pangs for tobacco and as time went on I left the vape for longer.
I vape at about 10am while I have a coffee and a break. Then I dont revisit the vape until about 2pm when I have another break. I dont generally revisit the vape until after 6 or 7pm, time is mine and I tend to just take a couple of random draws every once in a while.

Chain vaping at its worst, to me, is how I first stared vaping while quitting, maybe a draw serious 10-15 drags and then another puff or two every 2-3minutes.
I guess Ive been including vapers who hit it every ten to 15minutes or so as chain vapers but I guess they arent. Its probably more in line with their old smoking habit.

The time Im most likely to chain vape now is when I get a parcel in the post or get home from the vape stores after some purchases. I coil and wick up and them do the comparison thing between the new rta/rda/rdta's ---- huh! RBA's!! and my old favourites. I have a bottle of 1.5'ish mg for such occasions.
But once the testing is done I might not vape for another couple of hours or more.

Chain Vaping means that it's in your hand or your pocket all waking hours. To break that you actually have to set it down and walk away. Have a vape here and there, and walk away again.

And this is utterly lost in the context of regulation. That we don't intake like smokers. Moderate rounds of chaining throughout the day at low or very low nic levels is to me extraordinarily less taxing upon the system than smoking. While the greater volume of consumption of chain vaping seems counterintuitive, emulating the smoking experience in all its characteristics more resembles the aggravating invasive nic loading (smoking breaks) that our health monitors subjected us to by force with tobacco legislation prohibiting indoor smoking (and now vaping). If there's anything that upsets me more it is this utter and total indifference towards our health that more than ever prevails today among our stewards of public good.

They would make victims of us all.

    Good luck. :)

When I first switched, I was using 48-55mg in a 10w pod device. I went through 10mL a day. Always had it in my hand, and any craving resulted in a puff. Got a nord, dropped down to 35mg, and was going through 8mL or so a day. Once I got a mod, I dropped to 6mg, then 3, but upped my intake to 30mL a day. I no longer have the vape constantly in hand, but it's always in reach. For extreme cravings, I grab the Rx2, which is set to 160w, and 2mg juice.

I also know people that ALWAYS had a lit cigarette in hand. ALWAYS.
Yup, my father did. There was an ashtray in the bathroom so he could smoke while shaving.

Lol (well, actually not). My father always had a cig in his hand and that did not turn out well.

I thought perhaps there were kind of differences in the term, that's why I was genuinely curious...I do test juices or coils and go back and forth doing like 10 straight puffs, but that's just here and there, I also do that on my wifes rta after I rewick it. That darn tank just floods after a refill and no matter what I have done, it takes like 10 hard pulls to clear it...

I find myself chain vaping during certain activities where one hand is free to hold a mod. So, I guess I'm either chain vaping or not vaping at all (like in the shower). However, in the beginning there were times I reached out of the shower to take a pull.

I am guilty of chain vaping.

During the day my breaks are short so I tend to get my nicotine in enough quantities and get also some vapor satisfaction, all in a short time window. Tank tends to get hot. When going for mtl it's not that bad because of higher mg.

When at home I vape about the same ml of liquid but spreaded in time. Usually in an rta or rda.

I chain vape hard first thing in the morning. I need more than one mod to keep up or I roast the wick. Not so bad the rest of the day. I take a few hits then get back to what I’m doing. I’m pretty bad during a phone call too.

Oddly I hardly vape when I drive, and I was a total chain smoker in the car.

Ooooh me too. Used to hate long trips - I chain smoked my head off, and I was always nic sick by the end  but I only vape when driving every now and then.
