Hello! I couldn't find my specific question so I thought I'd give asking a try. I found that I am allergic to PG so am currently using 100% VG while vaping. At this time I am using the Kanger Evod starter kit with ego-type battery. The flavors are very muted, if I can taste them at all. What are my options for getting better (or any) flavor out of my juices? I don't want to keep buying in hopes that I might taste something...

Thank you in advance!

That's one of the trade offs for using VG instead of PG.

PG Translates flavor very well, makes smaller clouds and is thinner for ease of wicking/filling.
VG makes big clouds, more difficult to handle, not so good with flavor.

You didn't mention if you're thinning it with anything, or if it comes pre-thinned. The VG that I use for my DIY is a bit thicker than shampoo (I use Panteen, if that helps any (For my shampoo, not my VG)) and I doubt very much that 100% VG would wick well for me.

You may also be experiencing vapor tongue...happens to all of us now and again, everything just sort of stops tasting like anything... Not so much on foods and things, but the vapor specifically. I've had the strongest flavors in my arsenal on my tanks when I had the tasting problem....and it was super dull.

Assuming it's not vapor tongue, there are a few things that might help. If you're DIYing your juice, then these will be easier than ordering, so I'm going to assume that you're not.

Find a vendor that offers extra shots of flavor in your juices. There are a few around, though I don't know any off the top of my head, since I've been making my own juice for 2 years.
Try mixing a little bit of PGA in with your juices. When I say a little, I mean a little... A drop or two for a 10ml bottle should help. (PGA is Pure Grain Alcohol, vodka is a good example)

Also, drink more water. Water will help clear your taste buds and might help you taste the more subtle flavors.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately Like Xaiver said PG is a better flavor transmitter. What you can do if your buying high VG juice ask for a boost in flavor. If your thinning the juice with distilled water that could explain it. Again ask for a flavor boost. This is why I diy. I prefer higher VG so i mix it with a higher percentage of flavor. I use a lot of drippers so High VG helps to keep the juice in the atty and not on the outside of it. LOL

I only use '100% VG'* and this is a known issue for us glycerine users.

As stated above you can add extra flavor.

Also make sure your refill is not too viscous (thick and gloopy) - it needs distilled water added until it is about the same viscosity (thickness) as a PG-based liquid, or several problems can result.

There is also the matter of individual taste - for example someone might tell me that XXX atty/whatever has great taste, but I get nothing from it (although this could be a glycerine issue).

Another approach is to try out different heads (atomisers etc) as these have a huge difference with all-glycerine refills. So please try out some other heads (toppers) such as clearos, Kanger Aero, Protank, Nautilus, carto & tank, DC cartos, as well as your Evod. Maybe you can find one that fits you better. Some refills work much better in a specific head and not in another - this is a well-known issue when changing between tobacco flavor and fruits for example.

I just use a specialised 510 atty dripper rig (or 801 if I can find a good one) but that is regarded as eccentric and old-fashioned now. It produces more flavor than anything else though, on VG. It's only good for light users or office and home use mainly, as dripping is a pain for a heavy user, even with a rig that takes 6 drops at a time.

* Yes, I'm well aware it's not 100% and it's probably not VG either - thanks :)
