FYI, it happens so often that they actually put it in their FAQ, but not into user manual. You are coming from that part of the world where userguides are saying you shouldnt dry your cat in microwave owen, right? If nothing else it should seem a bit suspicious to you...

A real FYI is people do things without thinking so often manufactures go nuts printing exhausting list of FAQ's to cover all the things that should be obvious.
If you read it it clearly indicates OVER TIGHTENING or tightening down a TO LONG atomizer pin can crush the o-ring.

A fix, a realization and common sense makes for a permanent fix.

Please understand, I own (2) eVics. I work three 12hr shifts a week and the evics are in my hand most of the rest of the time. I constantly change clearos/tanks, Oops drop them, and have NO damage to either one in almost 7 months use.
eVic is definitely not the end all be all, but if you pay attention and use it properly, baring an internal issue, the thing is one hell of a nice device.

Sorry i dont buy this, i also own a lavatube, 0 problems with it, it works, no overtigtening, no "too long attys" etc. It never failed me, not even once. It works, i dropped it to the flor so many times it looks like a device from 1912 but still works without problems. With joyetech devices, 1 egoc battery went dead, leaks all the time, the evic needed repairs. I can only conclude they have a quality control problems or they are having design problems. The buck boost converter is fine, the firmware is a nice "touch" even if it doesnt output the graphical data about vaping (no comment, obviously another bug) but it was once too many to go to their thin ice, they have good ideas but hell of a crappy implementation.

Yawn........... Guess you never read all the complaints about Lava Tubes either.

It is quite often more the operator than the device. Nuff said!

Look, the divice i have fixed works now. Without problems, with or without "overtightenining", with short or long atomizer.

The amateurmade the device better then they did. That just says everything.

Sorry, tried my best to resist.

I have owned my (2) evics since they came out. Use the heck out of both. Both still have not given me any problems.

If there is a defect - I have Yet to run into it.

You dont have to open it at all. What you need to do is get yourself a #60 o-ring from home depot or lowes or whatever big hardware store you have around.

First you need to use a pin or eyeglass screwdriver to pry out the old o-ring located under the center pin of the 510 connector. To make it easier you can lift the center pin up with the screw driver by prying it up very gently (only pry it up as much as you need so you dont break the wire underneath)

Once you get the old o-ring out, take a new #60 o-ring, and make one cut in it. Then start from one side and work your way around stuffing it underneath the 510 center pin.

Here is a photo of mine with a #60 o-ring in place

Here is a video of someone performing the same fix on a VAMO
