I have vaped for almost a year now and I do smoke every now and a great while. The main reason why is because I am really lazy and cheap so I normally don’t keep a stock of product at my home so if it all goes at the same time (Cartos / Attys / run out of juice) I wind up using analogs for a day or so while wait for the order to show up. I can tell you though after a while the analogs really loose their appeal and if you go for a while with out using an analog (3 – 4 + months) and you have one it can though you for a loop. I can remember the last time I did, and it made me nauseous.

Just my 2 cents on the matter though.

I have had cravings, although I have not smoked. Mostly, they have been external triggers. Yesterday, I walked out of a hospital and that was a trigger for me. But once I vaped, it went away. I spent three days in a casino which was definitely a trigger, but I made it through without smoking. The triggers may always be there with me.

So true, but like they tell people in AA you have to think it through. With the cig comes all the other crap- the health issues, money, smell, being made to feel like a loser. Did I mention the smell? I was going through bottles of Febreeze by the gallon. It's nice to walk past people and they don't act like you stepped in dog s*it.

No cravings here at all. I smoked 1.5-2 PAD for decades. I did my research first, bought an ecig that worked for me and stopped smoking immediately. I did have 3 battery emergencies where I was caught with no charged battery and had to smoke 1 while I waited for enough partial charge to start vaping one battery while the other charged. After that I ought lots of batteries and charging cable and 4-port 2amp USB to AC adapters and PTs. I would have to lose power for 24-36 hours to run out of batteries.

Vaping only for about 15 months and feel like a complete "princess" with all the choices, volts, and flavors that going back to smokes would be like eating spam from a can after it had been rinsed in water for an hour.It took time to have that thought but the confidence in your stuff is what makes it work for me.Good luck, it will take over .let it in .

Thanks for all the great info. Makes me ask... can you vape in the hospital?

I know I would at least stealth vape.

I think it would depend where you live. Your state might be more receptive than mine. Someone I know told me they were able to vape in the veterans hospital in Phila. In the case of my Mom, I didn't ask. But one of the nurses I was talking to outside wanted info on pvs for herself.

From all my reading, a lot of vapers smoke cigarettes too, or occasionally.
The thing is, while they may need to grab an analog or want them now and then, when they do smoke, it's less likely they've "fallen off the wagon."

My experience with those trying to quit using most methods is they get past the first few days hopefully, use a nicotine supplement for however long thereafter, but if and when they do smoke another cigarette, the progress is lost, and they return back to smoking full time. People who vape will try a cigarette to revisit the old style, smoke now and then, or even buy a pack, but are less likely to be "stuck" back into the habit of exclusively smoking cigarettes.

IE, you can smoke an analog and not be a slave to it all over again, with vaping as an option. No matter what, the outcome of vaping is usually positive. Vaping pretty much gives a smoker more of an option to actually smoke cigarettes if and when they want to, and not by addictive necessity. Smoking a cigarette again after being smoke-free for days or months even is not a sentence to failure any more.

I did the chantix thing twice........total failure, I never quit smoking. I tried the original ecig about 2 years ago...........no flavors, 401, still didn't quit smoking. It wasn't until I found this incredible forum with the infinite amount of information, started researching and buying different products that I finally quit. The 510 helped me alot, and the Ego-T has helped me even more. I swear every time someone lights up a cigarette around me, I can't help but think that it smells like dirt. However, I still don't hate, and will never hate on the smoking population.

I haven't smoked an analog since I started vaping, but there are 'odd times' when I think about them.
1) vape juice with no throat hit- I start thinking about analogs. Unfortunately about 1/3 of the juice I have ordered has zero throat hit, I'm thinking of adding a little vodka to it to see if that helps.

2) Technical problems just drive me nuts and make me think how 'easy' it was to light up an analog and get my fix. Leaking atty's or getting juice in my mouth, bad batteries, etc. I just hate to deal with all of that. But fortunately I am too lazy to go to the store at those times and buy a pack and after I fix the problems I'm back to loving vaping.

Other than that, analogs don't even enter my mind, and I spend a good deal of time around friends who still smoke them and have zero desire to light up.

I was lucky that after my very first vape I quit analogs...Even though my first vape was an awful cheap 510 with a menthol that burnt my mouth. It did the trick though. I had tried Chantix and it was a horrible feeling, didn't work.
I also carry around some camel snus which I can use if I'm really feeling the occasional cigarette craving...such as seeing people smoke in a movie. I don't know why seeing that triggers it, I guess they just make it look so appealing...When I walk past a group of smokers I inhale the 2nd hand smoke too - I just love the smell now for some reason, but I don't want to light up.
But, if I can just get past that initial craving for a minute or so it goes away.
