Neither the search box nor my old subscribed threads list is telling me who I owe a thanks to... but to whomever suggested the use of Howards Feed N Wax for the wood REOs - THANK YOU!!!
I've been neglecting my VVW for quite a while and some of the finish has even worn off a bit. I gave it a good cleaning with Howards and after it dried I went over a few spots with double-ott steel wool - then a good long 'soak' in Howards (about 4 or 5 hours before I wiped it off and polished it). It looks almost as good as new.
Furthermore, (and off topic), I've started restoration of a firearm that was manufactured in 1936. The original hardwood is just too pretty to replace, but it wasn't looking like there was any alternative. A liberal application of Howards and a long rest (about 12 or so hours) before I rubbed it down did wonders. So, I owe you a double-thanks! Just for good measure and to express my genuine gratitude: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
