Neither the search box nor my old subscribed threads list is telling me who I owe a thanks to... but to whomever suggested the use of Howards Feed N Wax for the wood REOs - THANK YOU!!!

I've been neglecting my VVW for quite a while and some of the finish has even worn off a bit. I gave it a good cleaning with Howards and after it dried I went over a few spots with double-ott steel wool - then a good long 'soak' in Howards (about 4 or 5 hours before I wiped it off and polished it). It looks almost as good as new.

Furthermore, (and off topic), I've started restoration of a firearm that was manufactured in 1936. The original hardwood is just too pretty to replace, but it wasn't looking like there was any alternative. A liberal application of Howards and a long rest (about 12 or so hours) before I rubbed it down did wonders. So, I owe you a double-thanks! Just for good measure and to express my genuine gratitude: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Robert is the one that told me about Howards's. I have been passing it on and many others have as well.

I have a lot of wood REO's and every one gets a good coating of Howard's Feed and Wax with the UV protection. It is called Howard's Sunshield. It is good for many of the woods that will lose the color and get darker when exposed to UV light.

Love Howard's and use it all the time!
