I am new to this forum and figured I would introduce myself.
I had been a pack+ a day smoker till this past summer when someone got me a blu at a local convenience store as a hint.
Well, I tried it and liked it, but they were expensive. at that point I knew nothing about e-cigs but I discovered WalMart had ones that they carried that were a lot cheaper, The Mistic. I got one of their most basic kits. I think it was like $10 and I decided I liked it enough that the price diff between that and the Blu made up for the rest. I smoked the Mistic all summer and cut back to about a pack a week of real tobacco.

Not since Mid July I have lived in the middle of nowhere in Alaska and I needed a source so I found some info and ordered myself a 510 tank kit and have been using that since. I really don't have much experience yet, but it has kept me happy and sane. Now I found this forum and I am in awe at all the information out there and I am having a hard dime digesting it all.

I am also an online chatter since I dont get all that much connection to people outside this village other than on the internet so you may see me around in the live chat.

Hi and Welcome!! There is a ton of information to be found here. Post any questions that you have and you'll find that there are a lot of people who would love to help.

Most importantly... congrats on reducing the cigarettes! vaping puts smoking to shame.. much healthier and more fun.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the welcome Huffelpuff
I forgot to put that I Have now figured out how to replace my tobacco habit with vaping and have been hardly smoking at all. For the past two weeks I have not had a single smoke.

My main goals here are to learn about Equipment and compatibility as well as find some more yummy juices like the ones I am already using.

I am very overwhelmed by the amount of information here and hope I do find good information.

Thanks for the welcome Harleyndn.

And speaking of Alaska. One thing I am hoping to find information about here is vaping in COLD weather. That is one time that an analog really seems to do things a vape will not. Like working at -40 degrees. Anyone have any thoughts about vaping in the cold? Right now the biggest thing I have noticed is the batteries quit working once they get cold which takes about 3 hits on my 510mega manual.

Not to rub it in but it's still shirt sleeve weather here. But it's about to change. Have to finish the winterizing of my mom's pool tomorrow. Finally going to get cold. Reminds me of when we moved here when I was a kid. Was shirt sleeve weather and back in Virginia where I came from had 6 foot snow drifts. LOL

Thanks for the welcome steved5600

I will take a look at all that reading material.
Especially about cleaning an atty.

And as far as weather. It is a beautiful -31 out right now. as far as snow we dont get all that much, when you get this far north unless there is a major storm we dont normally get too much the air is just too cold to hold much moisture. Gotta be careful though when the wind blows a minute or two outside and you can get frost nip on any exposed skin. And to think before vaping I used to go outside to have an analog even in this weather and colder. One of the many bonuses to vaping.

Thanks for the welcome. I am sure I will be asking lots of questions. Right now I am just trying to do some reading, I feel like I am so far behind the curve.
And as far as your weather.....
I spent a week in Daytona Beach, FL this summer and to be honest I couldn't wait to get back north of the magic circle. I cant handle heat and humidity anymore. I grew up in PA and even there is just too damn hot for me in the summer. Now, that's not to say that parts of Alaska do not get hot, we regularly see the 80s in July and August but it is nowhere near as oppressive as it is down south. I like winter, I can always warm up, Cooling off is another story altogether.
