Scores of forum members are also reporting that the 'high bridge' 801 attys are terrible compared to the older low bridge versions. Forum members are also reporting that the BE112s are substandard, and that the protruding pieces of fiber glass wick material are yielding a wretched burnt taste which is very difficult to avoid.
My point here is this: simply asserting that because you yourself have not encountered these specific atomizer issues 'they must not exist' isn't really all that helpful. Are you sure the BE112s you've used are the same as mine? Can we be certain that a subtle change in manufacturing hasn't hampered the performance of recent batches? Of course, we can't.
I'm a big fan of working to control variables to improve my experience, and these particular variables need to be considered here. Blanket statements based on reckless assumptions only serve to mislead and frustrate. That's all. ;-)
Maybe I wasn't clear, if so, I'm sorry about that. My point is that when I and many others I have talked to or communicated with, use either the 801 or the BE112 (and I have about 60 of them bought pretty far apart), they work very well as long as you are using them with a better PV. I will agree that their performance will vary widely if you use them with, say a standard 801 penstyle PV. If you use them with the Prodigy they work great. Now I do agree that you can get a bad batch of attys. That's why I purchase mine from a supplier that gives a long warranty.
My main point is that in most cases it's not the atomizer that is the problem. It's the battery and switch that is attached to it. Do they lose some effectiveness over time from gunk build up? Yes. If I get a good month or two out of an atty, that's all I really expect. Now that I have found a good way to clean them, I'm getting about 3 months out of them and at $5 each which includes shipping, I really can't complain.
