And I don't mean that I set it free - I mean it's GONE from under the ceramic bowl !!!!!

My wife is terrified of snakes, irrationally I might add. I owned and operated a landscape business for several years and one day found a scarlet king on a jobsight. My son was 4 or 5 at the time and I wanted to show it to him. I put it in the only thing I had available, a big gulp cup (with a lid) , and took it home. He was asleep when I got home so I set it in our Florida room to show him the next morning. Went to get it and yup, it was gone.

Never told my wife about it and spent the next several weeks afraid it would show up in the house somewhere and she would leave me and/or kill me.

They are a beautiful little snake and also pretty reclusive, the chances of it showing itself again are pretty slim.

Well I have good news…sort of. As of this AM NOOA has my area downgraded to a tropical storm strength winds. But now it will be a cat 1 over in Tally…and I have friends there…and they didn't expect to get hit so not prepped.

But I'm still glad we boarded the windows, and moved everything from the yard and greenhouse into the garage.

Classy I wish there was a way I could help you.

Please everyone let us know how you are afterwards, and if we can assist you in some way…vapewise or otherwise.

I'm tired of hearing this upsetting mantra. The term meteorologist has of late dropped to the bottom of my list where political analyst has resided for some time.

No hurricane is anything to scoff at. Certainly not this unusual creature [and Harvey]. It's spewed more moisture and weather Northward ahead of its trajectory and landfall than any hurricane I can recall.

Ok, had to go to the grocery store for weekly shopping. People are crazy here, they are trying to buy beer at 9:30 and by law they can't sell beer until 12. Well people are going it's a "state emergency ".....

Well I just spotted my wildlife refugee for this storm, nothing as exiting as Classy.
Got a little toad the size of my thumb nail that as a big curious dog nose wanted to check it out fled under my recliner.

A baby lizard darted away from me last night as I was headed to the kitchen--barefooted. EEEEeewwww! He's probably looking for water, so if I find him, I'll send him your way!

I'm not afraid of the things, but I wouldn't want to step on one.

The big tree in my backyard just came down. Bug as in wide not too tall which is good because my backyard is tiny. No apparent damage. Hit the back screen porch but, just the top branches. There apparently are some up above the porch roof because I can here it bumping the porch roof a bit.
