Thank you!! :nun: ...I am enlightened!! :D
...told ya I live under a rock. :lol:
dont think of yourself as living under a rock,, so much of this 'camp style' stuff is being revamped these days for tiny house & boat living.

back in the day (last years or so ago) people stored their pee and poop in holding tanks on the boats... then paid someone to pump it out,,,lol,, now they use composting toilets (bucket method with sawdust very popular) and get rid of it themselves and use the space the old holding tank was for either storage or a new freshwater tank. (more freshwater=good thing).

as for tech,, its amazing how many boaters are not even rebuilding the nav station,, but instead just buying a tablet and downloading an app.

we are relearning it takes so little if we have the right tools/stuff to be compfy.

its a LED/USB world when possible. :)

Good info. :)
We always had a camper growing up, but dad never let us use the potty, we always camped where they had nice shower/bathroom facilities. We were mostly weekend only campers, so he didn't want to have to deal with using it.

Good info for prepping for any sort of infrastructure breakdown, disaster, or hurricane though.
There are a whole lot of places without any water or flush toilets right now. :(
While it's not exactly a fun topic, it's a necessary daily function that we've certainly grown accustomed to flushing straight away. :laugh:

Anybody here remember the old "tird toaster" toilets that they used to have in boats and RVs. Used a propane "blowtorch" dealy to toast it to ash and then a fan blew it out the exhaust.

lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,how funny,,,,,,uh,,nope I dont recall seeing that!
on a positive note,, using a composting toilet,, is the smell is very similar to potting soil which is better than the 'port a potty' smell a holding tank has no matter how clean you keep it.

This might be useful for some folks in a hurricane situation.

You mean this? We have used this thing so many times over the years at camping and power outages. It's a very useful thing to have.

Both of those are great ideas!. Our water here is horrible, tho. It gets slimy if it sits for long. We have a faucet style purifier. Can't stand this water.

thanks again tazzle

current update (just moving the list forward) Updated status,, but they may have spotty electric/cell/isp service so dont worry if communications is difficult for them.

Below is our Irma impacted list. If you would like to have your status updated that would be great for others looking out for you. Lets treat it like a report card,,,

A= good shape just a little clean up
B=minor damage/repairs needed
C=more than minor repairs
D= major repairs need
F= total loss, may need help
OK= ok, and you want to leave it at that

Of course you dont have to rate yourself until later.

Its quite possible you wont find your damage/needs until later. I dont want to assign a status to anyone,,so I leave that to you.

If someone needs help they can email of course to see what can be done to assist you. I know that I have some vape related items I can send you if need be. I moved some of the names up to the top of the list.
