Yesterday I decided to try Klaus's Project X (standard vsn) wicking method where he uses the minimal amount of wick one could possibly use. I whipped up a 5ml each of 70/30 and 80/20 flavorless/nic-less juice for testing.

I had his video up on my iPad for reference while testing.

First I tried it with 70/30 and within minutes it flooded. Then I tried it with 80/20 and though it took a bit longer (viscosity) it still ended up flooding.

In both cases when I took the tank section off to reveal the deck there was a pooling, or mini pools, of juice in the wells where there was no wicking present. With no wick filling the juice wells it makes sense that juice would pool up in each well. Path of least resistance.

Then I tried a bit more wick but still ended up with the same results though in each case it was a little slower to flood.

I'm not sure how Klaus is able to make this work as I followed his method precisely. His wicking style is intriguing and I am happy I gave it a shot but in the end it was back to more traditional wicking for me.

My vaping science project was much fun! :D

Ok next question for you XMen and XWomen: How full do you guys fill?

I've developed a habit of filling it on a 45° angle, keep filling til the airbbubble disappears, then fill it a bit more with it held damn near horizontal. Slapping the lid on real quick and then try to remember to unjfc it. So far it hasn't misbehaved, so far anyway ;)

I fill it at about a 20-30° angle. Most times I leave the X on a mod for filling, close the JFC, fill it right to the brim to where juice is just about coming out, open JFC and done. Other times I just take the X off the mod to fill. Either way works fine for me. :D

Here's my mtl fused clapton wire in the Project X:

2.5mm id, ss316l 30*2/40ga @ 0.45ohms - it brings even more flavour out of the X - my taste buds are officially exploding ;)

Been using both of my X's for a few weeks now, and really liking them, no dry hits or leaking with either them at all, even with several rewicks, the only problem I've had, is the satin grey keeps tightening up so much, I can't turn the juice control, but because of that, have discovered don't even need to use, seems this is one tank that really didn't need JFC, been filling both without closing JFC for over a week, and don't even get a gurgle once done.

I received my project x last week and I've been loving it. Yesterday I took the coil out and cleaned the deck under the faucet. I then put a new identical coil in and I'm getting error messages now and it won't fire. Ive tried multiple coils approx .70-.90 ohms and they all come up error now. I even tried replacing the screws on the deck and still nothing. Has anyone else had a problem with getting errors with this? And no its not the battery ive been using the doggy with the same battery with no problems. Im using the eh pro 101 and im getting the error no 1 message. So frustrating

To answer your question my Project X's work on every mod I have. I've never had an issue.

According to the manual for the EHPro 101 - ErrNo 1 ChkAtom.

On your Project X ... take a look at the 510 pin. How far is it protruding?
    Should be ~1mm.

Take a cue tip, dip it some rubbing alcohol and thoroughly clean the 510 connector on your EHPro 101 and then try the Project X.

I’ve already checked to see if the screw is loose and it’s not. I just tried wiping alcohol and it still doesn’t work. I totally forgot that I have another mod I can try this on. When I get home tonight I’ll let you all know what happens. I appreciate you all tryin to help

I haven't had a single error with various mods while using the X. I did have a No Atomiser error with a different RTA, but tightening up the 510 screw pin fixed that.

Wow I tried the tank on my other mod and it works. Theres some issue with it not connecting to the ehpro 101. Every other tank I have connects to the Ehpro just fine. What could be happening? It was working fine yesterday until I washed it. I don't see how water could of messed something up. Is there any way to solve this issue? I love my Ehpro!

I wanted to tag you incase you didn't know I just responded in the post above. What the hell can I do about this AngeNZ? Could I possibly change the bottom screw to one with a thicker head cause maybe its not reaching far enough to make contact?

Find some way to lift the positive pin on the mod just a little. I don’t have an EH Pro 101, but with some mods you can pry the pin up a little with a pin or tweezers or the like.

You might also try to clean out the 510 socket in the mod with alcohol and a cotton swab or a napkin, but since other tanks/atomizers work on the mod my guess is the positive pin is just not popping up high enough.

I actually just poked around at the pin in the mod moving it around and it works now! Who knows how long this will last though. Im guessing maybe some juice got in there and its stopping it from popping up as much as it should? Not sure but at least its working now. I'll finish this convo with you guys tomorrow I gotta go to sleep. Appreciate all the help

If juice got in the 510 of your EHPro 101 you would have seen/noticed that yesterday when you cleaned it out with alcohol. Some juice would have been on the cue tip or paper towel.

None of my Project X's leak juice into, or onto, any of my mods.

It's a good idea to thoroughly clean the 510 on your mods as part of regular maintenance.

The issue is with your EHPro 101 not the Project X.

Your atty's are fine. They work on other mods as you proved for yourself.

Trying to "fix" an atty to try and make it work with a mod when you know there is a problem with the 510 in the EHPro 101 makes no sense.

If this happens again you should return the 101 for an exchange or repair.

    Good luck. :)

Great points my friend. So I’ve been using it today and it’s connecting just fine. It looks like I’m running into another issue though. Right now I’m not getting the same flavor and hit that I used too. I’m having some sort of wicking issue I think.

You know how there’s two places in the tank where the bubbles come out of? I’m noticing that there’s only bubbles coming from one area and not the second. Pretty much every time I take a Vape I see big bubbles from only one of the black air holes. Only every now and then I see a small bubble from the second one. I just took it apart and cleared what looked like to be the one that was clogged but when I put it back together it’s still doing the same thing. This isn’t supposed to be happening is it guys?

Mine does the same most of the time. No hint of a dry hit tho...
