I have 2 V1's. One has the 5v switch and the other the 6v. The 5v works great and the 6v did until yesterday (except for needing to clean the switch almost daily).

Suddenly yesterday the 6v unit quit working. I put another fresh set of batteries in, changed the atty etc. I suspected the adapter after that, so traded it out with the one on my 5v unit. The 5v unit works with both adapters but the 6v won't work with either.

Now for the scary part! I dragged out my multimeter and I get 6 to 6.5 volt readings through the adapter when the button is pushed with no atty attached.

HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!

SOLVED, although I still don't understand the correct voltage readings. I brought the non-working one home so I could change more things out with my working unit. Of all things, it was the batteries. Two sets of Trustfire batteries less than 2 weeks old apparently aren't putting out sufficient amps to set off an atty.

Both my 8 month old Ultrrafire and Tenergy batteries work fine in both units, but the newer Trustfires are no good.
