I only used 2 carts! actually Im still on #2! much better yesterday I went threw 5 carts with ptb and half them hits were not that great felt dry and out of juice after a few good hits. Today was awsome the vaper was really moist and I was making huge clouds of vapor at everyone that walked by my desk lol... few co workers ended up ordering e-cig kits today after trying it out !!

I tried this, too, and I love it! Great idea and it was so easy & not messy at all. I know what you mean getting your hands all sticky is annoying.

Thanks for posting this...:D

I went a little bit different with my spring mod. I recently disassembled one of my atomizers and have been using the metal wick material from it as an interface between the cart and the bridge. I cut my spring slightly shorter than the reservoir and inserted it with the cut section down and the flat double wrapped "end" towards the bridge. I then took a small portion of filler and "capped" it with the metal wick. It sits slightly above the cart and when inserted gently pushes the entire assembly against the bridge. I use the disassembled atomizer (jaunty/801) to hold my 901 cart (only one I've done so far) for filling. I've haven't been using it long but I haven't detected any seepage, man I need manual batteries, and it seems to be working well.

WARNING, test your bridge height before doing this, pushing the two metal wicks together with too much pressure will likely damage the bridge.

Not to scale :p

I see there are a few that dont get why its not leaking.. Keep in mind were not smoking water, the viscosity of e juice is somwhat thick and is why you can use a PTB filler with all the air gaps and not leak.. that and maybe the fact that when you fill it up with e juice there is no air gap and it creates a vacume in the cart stoping it from flowing out? all hell I dont know your guess is good as mine but it works:D

Just an opinion...... Go to the Eheim Filler thread...... I think this meathod would work just like this, but without the hassle......

Whats the hassle? I think having to go buy more filter material is more of a hassle to me, then cutting it down to fit the cart not to mention its taking up space in the cart that the juice could be filling.. and most pepole have a click pen laying around the house.. Im sure 99% of us still have the polly that came in there carts. this was somthing simple pepole can try with common materials laying around the house..

Call me slow... I understand everything except Archer's diagram...
Not understanding the holes and if the PTB is used in the "normal" fashion or laid horizontal across...
Hmm, I am thinking the spring method Scottyballs or even bockafers posted is a winner...
I will try this definitely... Thx for the heads up!
..Bockafer, your method is similar to putting a straw at the bottom of the cart rather than along the side though, yeah?
I had thought of that with the straw cut about 1/4- 1/2 inch section and dropped at the bottom of the cart fill liquid and then add wicking because the carts for the Sidesho are fashioned w/ a 'split" at the bottom so you have "space" where juice sits w/o filler sitting IN it... - only change w/ the Sidesho cart is I believe the PTB enables it to wick better, for some reason the Fluval/ polyfill doesn't get all the liquid wicked up as it should... The 401 works great w/ Fluval/ polyfill... at any rate, I will try the spring method...
*** I have still been wondering if REAL wick that is used for oil lamps and candles would work... you can buy raw at the craft store... (raw meaning not already coated w/ anything)...
I still plan on getting some to just try it out as well...

Im sure PTB would work somwhat But.. the problum I have with it is that it dose not surround the attys core good.. and after you pull it off and put it back on its deformed and needs to be replaced with a new piece .. the polly you can reuse as much as you want and always comforms around the attys core

i have at least 2 confirmed success messages from totally drippers. and that means something.

PS: i just got a reply from a e-cig newbie who was already disappointed, no tips in the last 2 weeks seemed to help him get more than 10 drags without burned taste.
he just stopped after 30 drags on his 510 and is finally happy with the device.

scotty, i have to thank you from various esmokers from germany and europe for this easy but effective mod. :)

I haven't seen that mod yet. I'm using a very small amount of filler and atomizer wick material as a barrier at the edge of the cart, everything thing else in the cart is free/empty space for juice. Refilling and maintenance is a bit tedious but if it concept works out well across a few of the different atomizers I may try to machine a bottom filler version where the cart doesn't have to be removed to refill it.
