Scottyballs, just wanted to thank you for a great discovery! :)

I just tried your mod on my 801 and it worked like a charm. You're right, it's like dripping on the atty each and everytime I take a puff. At first I was hesitant to do it tip down, afraid it might flood the atty, but it didn't. In fact, doing it tip up tends to make it leak a bit on the sides. So it's tip down from now on. :)

Thanks again. :) Prior to this I was only using the drip method, and though it's great and all, it's kinda tedious after a while. With ADM it's a one-time effort (at least until the cart runs dry, hehe). And no, it does not flood the atty at all - it feeds it with just enough juice to make great vapor without spills.

Next we're going to come up with a contest for the most exotic way that you can cut your straw.

Personally I'm gong to do an origami crane complete with flapping wings... ;-)

Ill match your bird crane with a Real construction crane that lifts lil buckets of juice and dumps them on the atty..:D

The PT basically needs to have a battery for the 510 (and other PV's as well). Ya figure that at 2.2 or 2.4 Ohms, the atty will draw over 1.5 Amps at 3.7V.. that's 1500mA. The typical USB port is only good for 500mA.. a third of what is needed. The battery has to provide the current.. and the USB port recharges the battery in-between vapes.

Ahh hahh! makes sence! I did not think about how week USB's are I was like thats kinda cool I guess:confused:.. I can unplug it and walk around with this cord even thoe it would look kinda weird LMAO:D!! buts its just to keep 3.7v to the atty.. thanks SCOTTBEE your the best!:pervy:

I have been using the blue fish foam with pretty good results for the last couple of weeks and decided to give this mod a try. I still wanted to use the fish foam because it does not stick to the atty at all, does not burn, and does not have stray fibers to worry about. I cut the spring, placed it horizontally and placed a small "plug" of the blue fish foam on top.
I got severe leaking and addy floodage which leads me to believe that if you are going to use fish foam with this mod you need to "pack" it pretty tight in the top. Traditionally with blue fish foam you want to leave it packed pretty loose but with this spring mod the loose pores just allow the juice to flow to easily. I am going to try a squeezing more foam on top of the spring to reduce the flow.
Just a word to anyone using the blue fish foam with this mod.

Update: Tried packing the blue foam in tighter (used more blue foam) and got better results. Still a little bit of leakage. Anyone who uses this mod with the blue fish foam have any suggestions on how to make it work better? How much do you use and how do you "pack" it above the spring?

I experimented with this spring and blue foam myself trying to get the optimal (for me) ammount of foam that wicks well w/o leaking. In my experimenting I was using plain PG to test with as I have a ton of it, it is cheap and no worries if it leaked.

The first peice I cut while it looked to be the correct size (from op's original pics) instantly flooded the atty and leaked at the battery connection.

I then tried a bit bigger peice, but it was difficult to get it to stuffed in the cart correctly. A better explanation would be it was hard to get in evenly.

Next up, I just doubled the size of my chunk of foam, folded it in half and squeezed it into the cart with the open ends pointing at the spring, closed side of this U shape facing towards the atty.

This works well for me, wicks well, does NOT leak, is relatively simple to do etc. The one minor drawback is when refilling I get a little liquid on my fingers while working with the pad that is still moist from being used allready, but this is a very minor drawback :)

I keep a tissue handy when working with refilling anyhow to wipe up things like the end of the cart where air flows, etc so cleaning my fingers also is no big deal.

Scottyballs, Thank You for the mod idea!!!...

But I must now step slowly away when someone with your name says "...whip out my juice..." from a post a few pages back
