Oh my gawd... not another one...
OK, I'm in...

You're not understanding Mikie, and it would take too long to explain it to you. I'll just say this, the forum could be called big metal stick forum, and your search for "e cigarette forum" would have still brought you here if the owners of the site were doing the proper Search Engine Optimization.
I see... sorry to have bothered you so much. I do understand SEO btw, no explanation needed. maybe you should start your own forum named big metal stick, using SEO. This site is established so I am not sure why it needs to be changed.
Waitaminute.... did I get sucked into some mundane debate? Why yes, yes I did... lulz
I'm more intrigued by the fact that recurring thread themes don't get merged and stickied around here, and even moreso that something that is a recurring request (and a rather reasonable one, at that) goes on being ignored.
If you do understand SEO, as you say, then what is the mundane debate you speak of? Are you saying SEO doesn't work? Are you saying the name of the forum is paramount to the search algorithm? Which of my points are you debating, exactly?
by pointing out how proper SEO could allow the mods to spend time changing things about their forum,
That's right, it's the content within and the number of clicks is what contributes to many algorithms used to populate results. But still, I don't e-smoke, I vape. If they called it general-e-vaping-discussion I could more relate. I totally agree with the OP. My 2 cents, vape on! Braaaaaaap! The name of the site has very little to do with search engine algorithms.
Champ, you're heating oil in your device? That's hard core...smoke
smōk/
verb
gerund or present participle: smoking
1.
emit smoke or visible vapor.
"heat the oil until it just smokes"
ECF does not have near enough staff to merge like threads. To efficiently do it you would need 50 times the people that are on staff now. Moreover, the staff are volunteers with limited time and more important issues to deal with. If such topics were "stickied" as you suggest the first 30 pages of every section would be "stickies".
In addition, merging threads is a messy business that often results in thread whose conversational flow is completely destroyed resulting in an unreadable pile of nonsense. Not unlike this thread.
Also do not mistake failure to comply with your request or suggestion for being ignored. Sometimes the answer to a request or suggestion is "no".
