Well i just ordered a Joye 510 a few days ago...love the vapor the taste and all but like so many have said...the battery...2-4 hours ( being a heavy vaperer ) is just not cutting it...I was thinking about sending it back with the whole money back within 14 days. But i don't think I can do without for sending back then waiting on something different. I have leaning towards the ego / riva?!?! Seems the reviews state a longer battery and warmer vapor taste...more like a real analog! So I'm afraid if i do that ( waiting in between, i might break down ) So, I'm open for suggestions. Would your recommend a bigger battery for the Joye 510, or just fork out the $$ for a ego /riva?? :vapor:

I do love my 510!!!!

510 mega xl batteries give about 60% more battery charge (same charger, different PCC)

Ego or Riva 510 gives 6-8+ hours, longer with their larger sizes of batteries (different charger, different PCC)

Either can use your existing attys, carts, cartos but Ego/Riva can also use low resistance attys and cartos

2-4 hours for a standard 510 battery is pretty much right. Small batteries don't last long, especially if you vape heavily. You've got a couple of choices:

  • Buy a couple of 510 batteries and a PCC so that you'll always have at least one battery charged and ready to go at all times
  • Buy a larger "regular" 510 battery. You can get "XL"-length batteries that can give you another hour or two.
  • Buy a "fat" battery like an eGo/Riva. This is probably your best option, and if you go with one of the 1000mAh or larger batteries you could get 2 days or more out of a single charge (depending on usage, of course)

I'm not sure changing the battery will change the quality of the vapor. Airflow might change somewhat due to the size of the battery and how things connect, but the bigger batteries provide the same voltage and so shouldn't change the amount of vapor or the warmth.

thanks for all the info...so if i decide to go with say the fat battery (ego/riva) found for $14.95...i would also have to buy a different charger and pcc if decided to get one or two correct? Just want to get things right so i don't order something then say oh crap...i dont have the right charger!!!

IMO, it doesn't make sense to buy a battery and a charger (or an adapter for your 510 charger, since the big batt won't actually fit in it) when you can get a whole new Riva kit for $30 -- it's not like you won't end up wanting the extra atomizers extra battery, etc, etc, etc,,,,, Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Does the Riva have a Blue LED like my Joye 510? Just wondering...Think I will order soon...Me being in Tennessee, where is liberty flights located bc i would like to receive it as fast as possible haha!!!

I think it just has a light at the button (blue?), but I'm not sure. I have the eGo batts, but the Riva is supposed to be just as good.

The Riva 510 from Liberty Flights has a blue LED on the button not the end! They also have the EGo I think for $40 after the 20% off! Better to just gett he whole kit instead of buying batteries and charger! You will be able to use your atties from your joye 510 on it also! Basically you will have back ups for your backups and that's important in this hobby!
I have the Black Riva 510 and have been happy with it! My mom has the titanium one and it's pretty snazzy looking!
What ever you choose good luck!

I ordered from liberty flights, fabulous company, and for 29.99 (after you push the top left hand button) you can't go wrong. I went a similar path, except I ALSO opted to buy the Joy 510Mega kit between the 510, and the big battery model, wish I hadn't. Buy the Riva 510, maybe also just to try buy a Joye ego-Tank atomizer, and a 5 pack of cartridges when you're placing your order, I think that will add $20 onto your order, but it will be worth it. Thats what I ordered from liberty flights, a tank atty/cart kit and fell in love with the simplicity, and ease of use, but I have all of my normal attys to fall back on as well. Most days you will find me actually vaping from two of my Joye Ego-Tanks (the Riva 510 is a clone of the ego, except the Riva is actually better, it has a bigger battery then my Ego's) plus I have a 510 filled with high test nicotine, for those times that I need just a little bit more umph.
I live one mile from the coast, and it took a week for my order to arrive from liberty flights, maybe it was 5-7 days, I ordered on a Friday, and I think Monday was a holiday, but it takes a couple of days longer since they are shipping from California, but it's worth it. Fabolous company, great prices, good products, I smoked between 3-5 PAD, and the ego/Riva is the way to go, and on top of that I found the tank addition to be my go to VAPE machine. Each cartridge holds a little bit over 1ml, and none of the wicking problems with a normal cart. If you have it in your budget add it onto your rica order, you won't regret it.
The day I got mine from liberty flights, I actually (within the first hour of using it) bought two new Joy Ego Tank kits. One for me, and one for the wife. She fell in love with hers too.
Sorry if I added more stuff to consider, but that's my experience, and for the money, it was/is the best option I found for now.
Good luck, keep the 510 you won't regret that either.

the tank system is alleged to provide an automatic dripping system; the tank is like the carts that you've been using except sealed and devoid of filler material. They pop onto a specialized atomizer (eGo-T atty) that punctures them and draws the liquid into the atomizer similar to the way a refillable fountain pen does. The tank can then be refilled again and again either through the puncture hole using a blunt (or sharp) syringe or a pipette if you prefer OR the end cap of the tank can be removed and you can fill them that way instead.

I, personally do NOT think the flavor or vapor production is comparable to dripping. The whole system is getting mixed reviews. Much like avocados, you'll either love them or hate them -- I've yet to hear of someone who doesn't feel one way or the other.

IMO, it's worth trying the tank system out if you have the means to take a chance on it. If you are one of the many who end up loving it, then you'll be set for life (or until the next big e-cig revolution).

Be aware: to use this system you need BOTH the eGo-T atomizers and the eGo-T cart/tanks.

good luck :)

Just start with the kit. It has everything you need to get going. Once you've got it in hand and have tried it out, you can consider low-resistance atties, tank atties, mega atties, etc.

Also keep in mind that all of your existing 510 atties/carts will fit right on the Riva without issue. Just screw it on, put on the cone (if you like -- or don't, it's up to you), and vape away. In fact I'd recommend first using the Riva with the same atty you're using on your 510 right now. That's the best way to see if there's any difference. You'll know what to expect, and it should be exactly the same but with much, much longer battery life.
