Somewhere out there
Another fun thing is DIY, you actually can save money mixing your own and then you just have to have each flavor out there! LOL I was noticing my juice supply is actually more DIY now than ready made, so that is a plus. Some of the ready made juices I can now make myself so I am a happy camper. bnrk

i've only been vapeing for about a week, but i do have a stash of liquid that i pre-ordered with my mod so i wouldn't run out, but i do need to stock up on on carto's or atomizers so i don't have to worry about running out...and if i could find out what mod i'd like to get next, i do want to maximize my experience

I'm 4 weeks in...

My average spending and I'm a bit ashamed to admit has been close to 1,000 dollars a week. So I guess I'm in it for the long haul if I'm ever going to be in the black. I must say this includes me buying fairly comprehensive setups for of my parents as well.

However, I haven't had a single cigarette so overall it's a win. I'm also starting to recover and my cardio work outs have gone through the roof in the last week so that alone is worth my price of admission.

I just used your post to justify me buying a new provari, zenesis, and a darwin... Oh yeah, And an Orion v2... Of coarse it didn't work, but it was worth a shot. :)

I am definitely suffering from this same problem. I just quit smoking like 2 weeks ago and have spent like 2 months worth of cig money on vaping already. At first I was excited about the potential to save so much money. Now I am like pfft I quit smoking if I want to spoil myself with new mods and a plethora of juices than I will. At least you smoking the cancer sticks anymore, so I say spoil yourself all you want.

I have a VTube and two Twists. I have found about 6-7 juices that I adore. I love the Nova tanks. I should stop now.

I aint gonna!

Gotta have a blue ProVari...gotta have a woodie...gotta find more juices I love...gotta have...

The blue looks nice. But it looks a little too much like a light blue. I'm more of a royal blue type, closer to the blue of the eGo batteries (which is why I own 2 blue Twists :) )

By "mods" do you mean modifications or do you mean PVs, as in personal vaporizers? So often the people of the vaping community get confused as called PVs mods and mods PVs.

A mod is a device which is either modified from its original state or was created from scratch (which is in itself a stretch of the definition). A PV is a device sold commercially that manifests itself in a viable personal vaporizing device without modification.

Call me a jerk but I hate it when people hold up a Provari and say "hey look at my new mod". That's not a mod, dude. That's a PV. If you hold up a hand-made (usually one-of-a-kind) 5v box then you could say "hey look at my new mod, homies" and that would be OK.

Just justify it because it is so much fun. I am only 3 weeks in and have ordered 4 times for new stuff. The first purchase was my Nicotek Metro - Purchased in the store then a few boxes of carts and another battery from the website. The next purchase was a (as I justified it) necessary upgrade from an inferior ecig. I purchase a new V4L kit w/ blank carts and added on 4 - 30 mg bottles of e-juice to refill my own carts. Upon arrival, I realized that my juice was a bit too high in nicotine content for all day vaping, so "obviously" I had to purchase some lower nicotine juices. Before those even arrived, I was working on a sample order of some juices from ecblends because the flavors just sounded exciting and at $2.50 a pop (I can afford to experiment). Right?!?! Now, I have been checking out a vendor who is from my home state of Wyoming. What are the chances of that?!?! Of course I need to order something from him. Support a person who used to live in the state I live in. Totally justified.

While there are many who do collect pv's, there are also a lot of us who can't afford it.

I watch every penny I spend on vaping, I have my 2 original ego-t's I started with as backup for my BB, I have a vivi nova which I rebuild the heads for. And I have on order a defcon rebuildable atty.

I have just started DIY'ing my juices to save money there as well.

There are a few people on the forums who say we shouldn't mind spending the money on a new pv or whatnot, and if you have it to do so that is fine. But ya can't get blood from a turnip.

I'm quite happy to fork out loads of cash because this vaping thing has got me off analogues and to me, that is priceless. If i spend £1000 on gear, it's all money well spent in my book, and because i have so much kit, my freinds and family benefit too from my knowledge and the fact that they can try it out first too before they buy (from me)! It's all good :D

Exactly. While I'm not on a "fixed budget," I'm close to it some weeks. I owe a lot of what I have already to the generosity of great vendors that run contests or give out free samples here and there. :)

Just in two weeks since beginning my vaping journey, I've spent exactly $374.74! So yes, that wasn't so awesome for my wallet. (This month anyway.) If you subtract my PV purchase plus all the gizmos I needed to get started then I only spent $156.64 which is approximately $12.88 more than I would've spent in a month on cigarettes. Which in turn could have been money that I would have used to buy my boyfriend a pack or two if he was short on money. If I am good, (And slightly frugal. Buying only what I need.) then not in August but by September I will start experiencing some savings! The next PV I want is a Provari. So, maybe it'll be an X-Mas present to myself. As I know that I definitely cannot afford it right now. I probably won't be one to go overboard with PVs. I want maybe four more. (With one being just another color Silver Bullet.) My problem will be drip shields, tanks, drip tips and the lot. (The accessories!) Lastly, I will also eventually get into DIY juices. Only making purchases from my favorite juice vendors. So, who cares if it is an addictive hobby! It's a healthier hobby! Vape on!

Here's my highly opinionated 2 cents worth. Take it or leave it, but don't be offended :) :

Why would you want an overpriced Provari? The Ego Twist (at $23) does all the practical things a Provari (likely over $200 after charger, and extra batteries) does, and so does the Apollo V-Tube for literally 20% of the price (minus the extra batteries). Besides who wants to play the pushing the button 1000 times to find your sweet spot when you can just instantly dial it in? The Provari at 6v requires a 4.5ohm or greater resistance to get to the sweet spot of vapor production - that is unless you like to take reckless throat hits and blow your atomizer coils up with a quickness. The Ego Twist goes from 3.2v to 4.8v which is in the perfect range for a 3.0ohm atomizer coil. I don't know when the last time you checked was, but if you find a 4.5ohm atomizer you let me know K? I don't think you will though. Not in anything good anyway. Most of the vets I know who have a high voltage device like a provari end up parking the thing at around 4.0v to 4.5v anyway, which effectively makes the fact that it goes to 6v almost useless.

You should get into DIY immediately if you want to be frugal. Go onto YouTube and search for DIY Ejuice and watch them videos up. The google "EJUICEMEUP" and download that sonuvagun for free. Once you get an idea of what you are doing set up your program and check your stats, remembering that nic solution comes in 100% PG 50/50 PG/VG and 100% VG varieties. You're going to have to tweak it for a minute and see what's the best solution of nicotine to use for you. Remember VG is cheaper than VG if you get it at walmart. SO all you need to do is make a trip to walmart and grab some "Glycerin" from the pharmacy section, aka USP grade VG (6 month supply easy for just 3 bucks)! While you're there grab up an oral syringe or two for a little over a buck a piece. One comes with a little measuring container that comes in handy as well. After that make a little trip over to Wizard Labs to get your nic solution and your PG. Now, all you'll need is some flavoring. Wizardlabs sells TPA (The Perfumer's Apprentice) flavors and they're ok and definitely cheap, but you get what you pay for. If you want quality, you're going to need FlavourArt (which is the most expensive flavoring on the market), if you want middle of the road then Capella's is the best bet. After doing that stuff all you have do is stalk your mailman. Once you get your stuff I'm sure you still have some empty juice bottles, so it's time to fill them up! One could easily get their costs down below 20 cents a day to vape doing this. It's not that hard, it's only dangerous if you're a klutz and you don't wear at least gloves. Go slow, be gentle and do it up right. There's nothing to it. You'll be like "dang that cost me almost nothing and I used to pay a lot of money for that".

After all that you may want to get back onto YouTube and check out how to rebuild a Vivi Nova and get into doing that. I am confident that a month's worth of vaping you could get down to about 7-8 bucks tops. Why not take the money you used to spend on a bad habit and enjoy it instead of spending on a different way of doing your old bad habit?

BTW these prices are at the 24mg strength. If you vape less than that the price will go down since nic solution is the most expensive ingredient. It will also go down even further the closer you are to a 100% VG vaper, since PG is more expensive than PG by about a factor of 3 or 4.
