Another big thank you to all my friends here on ECF. The well wishes and congrats are great. You guys rock!
And yes, the Journey is probably the best part of it, since vaping takes time to lock in what actually works for you. Lots of trial and error, and certainly a lot of changes along the way. Since I did, in fact, chase the vape, it has required learning a lot of new skills, learning a lot about things I would have never dreamed of (Ohm's law, battery safety and University, rebuilding coils, Bernoulli's Principles of fluid dynamics, wicking and the many materials available, acquired tools I never thought of owning previously like DMM's, soldering irons, lighting, magnification, all manner of tweezers and pliers, digital micrometers and calipers, all manner of bottles, flasks, syringes, flavors, drippers and pipettes, etc.), shipping from foreign countries, the quality of Chinese goods and differences in quality control, the politics of vaping, the healthy aspects of vaping, food additives, the chemistry of vaporization, storage solutions, etc. Who knew? Doesn't stop with a little new math, you know.
As a hobby, holy moly! Way too much junk along the way. Had I gone from fixed voltage ego's to the Provari with carto tanks the first month, I would have saved literally thousands, and enjoyed a much better vape along the way. I hardly remember the gurgling, flooding, leaking, clearing, cleaning clearo days. Sitting now with my Kayfun 3.1 and Semy in hybrid mode with my Vapeland VR edition drip tip, enjoying my cinnamon Danish at 12 mg (down from 36 mg/ml the first two weeks), and needing to drop to 6 mg/ml because of the better vaporization and kick of the RBA's (Kayfun's), I'm only now truly reflecting about this Journey in Vapeland, this VapeQuest. Wow, what a Journey is right. Right? Thank you all! The veterans here could not have been more helpful! All I had to do was stick around and participate most days, and I learned a lot about a lot. The YouTube videos showed how easy most of the processes actually were, and with your encouragement, I tried things I never considered possible when I started. Not surprisingly (now), you guys were right about just about everything! Again, many thanks. Anyway, that's my story. Smoke free for a year. I thank God, my family, my friends, here and elsewhere, and ECF. I know that I don't fit the profile of the average vaper any longer, but I have learned what works best for me, and now my wife and daughter have also been vaping for a year, free of smoking, and loving it. God bless...I did it! Thank you.
Btw, I was a 35 year, 3+ PAD American Spirit Black smoker. When I got a good kit with double batteries, adjustable voltage, some decent clearos, and some experience, I was able to quit on a dime and haven't looked back. I tried one puff along the way....disgusting. Vaping ruined smoking for me. I had tried vaping in both 2009 and 2011, and, frankly, the gear and juice were not where they are today, and I couldn't quit, dripping with 510's in 2009, and 650 fixed voltage egos with atomizers and cartridges in 2011. They just were not enough for me. Enter 2013, finally, vape gear matched my smoking addiction and did the trick....and so can you! All the best!
