I don't look at vaping as a one or the other option. I do what's right for me. Sometimes I vape, sometimes I smoke, and most of the time I do both, but not at the same time, lol. There seems to be this mentality around here by some that if you vape you can't smoke, that's crazy.
Like others have said, get a disposable if you can, or anything other than a cig.
Here's the deal: The 3-week point (your NOW) is the nastiest point for many. But it all gets better from here IF you stay off the cigs. See, there's a bunch of extra chemicals in tobacco that interact with the nic. So for many of us there's still withdrawal from tobacco even while vaping (or using other nic sources). Vaping helps a lot due to the habit part, and the easy to control your nic-level part. But it has to work for you first!
Hang in there. Stay off the cigs if you can. Get backups. If you "fall off the wagon", get right back on.
Wishing you improved health and good luck.
For me, the success in quitting is doing it by your terms. You will get bumps in the road, but if you really want to smoke, you can do it. It is always their for you.
Also, some gas stations sell cheap tanks. Last time I was in TN, shell stations, and mapcos sold them.
Don't beat your self up, quitting is hard.
Yes it's the ones you don't smoke that matter moreYour allowed to smoke, don't beat yourself up about it.
I think many people just don't want to go back to the stinkies and it's too easy if you let yourself have 1 to have more. I couldn't smoke and vape as smoking tastes horrible after vaping, but I could easily go back to smoking if I couldn't vape for some reason. Each to their own though and there is nothing wrong with what you do if it suits you.I don't look at vaping as a one or the other option. I do what's right for me. To be perfectly honest that is where I started vaping, I had a bad report at a doctors appointment and bought an "ego" type vaporizer and some menthol juice at a Shell station by my house. I had a few slips till I got into my first mod with a Nautilus from a local B&M. Soon after I got into rebuilding, and my first mech. From then on it was easy peasy, now that I have the Reo/Nicoticket cigarettes are a distant memory and can't ever see going back.
I wish they were at gas stations when I started. An ego and ce4 was enough for me to quit, sadly I went to a B&M that only sold joye starter kits, so I dropped $60, and ended up getting into mods a month later.
Ugh. This is horrible.
I quit analogs 3 weeks ago with the help from vuse. After that, I found this forum and educated myself (I stalked before joining). I ended up purchasing a silver bullet from altsmoke.com and their generic tank that comes with it and I was so, so happy.
But, being a newbie... I didn't think about ordering extra atomizers or even think about getting a high grade clearomizer until I read more deeply into these forums. I called on Tuesday morning and ordered a genitank mega. ETA, Thursday.
Thursday, my generic tank broke. I thought "no big deal, my genitank will be here soon." It didn't come. Friday it still didn't come. I started vaping on the vuse again hoping it would get here on Saturday. Nope. I called altsmoke and they are sending me a new one out STAT. It will be here tomorrow afternoon.
I'm having to buy cartridges for this vuse like crazy. It's almost like smoking a real cigarette, almost like a harsh camel. It's shaped like a cigarette. It makes me want to smoke an analog, BAD. I'm really tempted to go to the gas station and buy a pack of Marlboro's to get me through until my genitank comes tomorrow. IF it comes tomorrow.
I'm so frustrated and all I'm really doing is venting and looking for support.
Thanks for any support or guidance,
Dani
PS- This is NOT altsmokes fault. It's the USPS's fault. I hate them right now.![]()
You're absolutely right. But I came here for support to NOT smoke. Maybe I'm being dramatic, I just need a support system because I don't have much support anywhere else.Your allowed to smoke, don't beat yourself up about it.
I slept on it and rationality kicked in last night. I feel better. Like you, I can't smoke analogs because I was diagnosed with moderate to sever lung obstruction. It's really not an option. And that is completely up to the individual, for me it is either or. I either vape or I deal with the health issues caused by smoking which seem to be lessened by vaping. It's not because I vape that I can't smoke but my body telling me that vaping has helped, I can't ignore this. To each his own and I wish you the best on your path. Which in a round about way we are saying the same thing with different conclusions.![]()
