I did the unthinkable. After almost 3 months of being tobacco free, I looked at my wife's pack of cigarettes and thought to myself "I wonder .... hmmmm..." Needless to say, I took one and lit it up. I will not lie, it was great! So great that I had another one later that night. Then, the next day, another and another. It didn't take long to get to the point where my 6mg juice just wasn't enough. Now, two weeks later, I am back to a pack a day and not enjoying it at all. I have noticed more shortness of breath with physical activity. More coughing up phlegm in the morning. Worst of all, my truck stinks, and I probably do too.

I just ordered a batch of 18mg juice. I am hoping round 2 of quitting will be as easy as round 1 was. This time I WILL STAY tobacco free.

I'm assuming you were just starting with vaping after going cold turkey on stopping smoking?
What were you using as your venture into the ciggie free world ?

Did you not find the smell of the traditional ciggie was terrible compared to the vaping experience ?
Having the 'comfort' of the cigarette in your hand after so long is just simply "habbit" and perhaps you should try the eGo to lose the temptation.

Everyone is different.
Don't beat yourself up about it. Just switch back.
Personally, after vaping for 6 mos, I tried a regular cigarette (while drinking...). After the first puff I immediately put it out because it was nasty. I used to smoke camels, and recently came across a flavor that matches what I remember camels tasting like. I usually vape 3 and 6 mg. I got that in a 12 because I like vaping higher nic when it drink. That keeps me satisfied without any desire to bum a cigarette from my non vaping friends.

If you are not getting the satisfaction from your vape to keep you off cigarettes, maybe it's time for an upgrade? Nothing like a greatly improved experiance to reinvigorate your vaping habits. If you are using egos with a clearo, maybe get the new nautilus mini bvc. An MVP2 or similar mod could also go a long way in improving your vape experience. If you are using cigalikes, my hats off to you for being able to quit for as long as you have with a smoker in the house!

Good luck on your future success, you have a great support group here should you need anything!

For most of us smoking goes gross shortly after we start vaping and don't have any problems with smoking once that happens. I still cringe at the thought of what my last cigarettes tasted like. For people like you who find out they still like something about smoking, well now you know. And you know you have to work harder at staying away from smoking now.

Not everyone gets lucky on that going gross thing and we don't even know why it happens. But for folks like y'all you have to work harder at staying quit from this point out. You learned something - don't beat yourself up over it. That's all.

think of all the cigs you didn't smoke and how much better you felt. also remember all the reasons you wanted to quit in the first place.
i wouldn't feel too bad though. many have taken more than one attempt to quit totally...........and yes, it does stink. good luck.
That post right there medic, sez it all.

I recall seeing members quitting without really trying as one of the more common stories over the years here.
Focus on the vape, the cigarettes become fewer and farther in between with time and all of a sudden, pooof, no more smoke.

I had really expected it to be nasty. The very last cigarette I smoked was tossed after a few hits. It just tasted like crap. I think that I was hoping this first cigarette would be the same, but it wasn't. As I stated in my post, it was great. I can actually compare it to many pleasurable experiences in my life. The good news is that the enjoyable experience has subsided (smoker's tongue?) and now I just smoke to get my fix. I have given up on vaping at this point, until my new juice shows up in the mailbox. No need to combine the two, creating more of an addiction.

The transition from smoking to vaping took about a week and a half back in May. I am really expecting it to go that well again.

Happens. So what.

You still ahead of a good number of sticks you did NOT smoke.

And upping the nic level is exactly what I would do.

Don't sweat it

You know, while I am typing this, I'm having a small head full of some hideously expensive blend for the pipe. Once a week or so. Just for the fun of it. Vaping got me off the hook and every now and then I use that very hook like a hammock :)

I don't think I agree with the "dual addiction" issue. The addiction in vaping is nicotine and behavior. The addiction in cigarettes is that and from the other 300 ingredients (like rat poison). Hopefully using both will cut down your cigarette use as it did during your initial switch.
All IMO of course!
Good luck!

Medic, hang in there. It took me 3-1/2 years to finally break away from cigarettes from when I started vaping. I just finally had to let my head (and my wallet - I'd spent a bunch on vape gear, and felt guilty about spending on cigs AND on gear :D) make my final decision.

Some folks have an occasional cigarette, but spend the majority of the time vaping. Your choice - no one has a right to judge you. You'll do what's right for *YOU* :)

I agree with the above post. Every day at some point i think "maybe just one " because someone in the household here still smokes, so its tempting. But i also know that the last time i did that i dropped those blu cigs like a bad habit and got on my marbies again. Dont beat yourslef up about it. It really does happen to lots of people. Good luck to you and im also thinking an upgrade is in order ! That mvp2 at 101 vapes is cheaper than a carton of ciggs right now!

Mark Twain said quitting is easy I have done it a thousand times.:)

You just weren't done yet. Take it easy on yourself. Took me a year or two to reach bottom when I used to drink and do other stuff. I have 25 years now. You will get this because there is a part of you that desires to get it. It will be o.k.

Sin is an archery term that means missing the mark. Keep practicing you will hit the bulls eye. Rome wasn't built in a day. Take it easy on yourself.
