Hi guys,

Well, I fell off the wagon. I had gone two weeks without butts, went on vacation, and started thinking about the whole indulgent situation. I thought, hey...here I am in the gorgeous virgin islands....beautiful beaches, great food and wine....how delicious some cigarettes would be! They were! I enjoyed them! Now I'm back, I promised myself that I would go back to only vaping as soon as I returned home. I've only been home a day, but am returning to vaping somewhat reluctantly, and not completely yet. That's why I submitted my earlier post about trying to find a juice that accurately mimics a real tobacco taste.

I AM SOOOO BAD!

You know, I've never understood posts like this.

I guess I've been fortunate; I took to vaping immediately and never looked back. I love it so much ... and so much more than smoking analogs. [FYI: I smoked for 40 years and tried quitting several times.]

I don't even view what I've done as "quitting smoking" and certainly no effort of will power. From a smoker's point of view, I found the Cognac or Lowenbrau or Johnny Walker Black of cigarettes (at half the cost of rotgut). Why would I ever want to smoke Camels or Marlboros again?

What we need to do is find you a PV, voltage, nicotine level, and flavor that you will feel the same way about.

I don't necessarily agree with Geoff in that post of his. I prefer tobacco flavored e-liquid. And there are so many good ones. None of them taste just like an analog; I wouldn't want them to. I smoked an analog a few months ago. Through poor planning, I found myself without a charged backup battery while away from home for a few hours. I bought a pack (and matches) at a convenience store and lit one up. OMG! It tasted terrible! I couldn't finish it (the cigarette, not the pack) and just toughed it out until I got home to the batteries plugged into my chargers.

I suggest that you try a selection of sample-size bottles (3-6 ml), e.g., Awesome Vapor, Cignot, eSmokerOnline, NHaler, etc. Start with the tobacco flavors, both the ones that are named after analog brands and others. [I've been reading great things about Halo's Freedom juice, but they're out of stock and probably will be for some time.] Awesome Vapor, Cignot, and eSmokerOnline sell China-made juice (Dekang, Boge, and Joye). Cignot and NHaler sell USA and/or UK-made juice.

I hope that you will post a follow-up here (or feel free to PM me) to indicate the flavors you have tried, the e-cig model you've been using, and the nicotine level of your e-liquid. We then would be able to assist you more effectively back onto the wagon.

I don't think you fell off the wagon. So you had a few analogs. So what? Sky falling? I don't think so. Would have been better if you had not smoked them? Yeah, it would, but so what? Would have been better not to speed and not to get that ticket when you got caught, but that's no reason never to get behind the wheel again, is it?

If you feel there is something missing, by all means, go looking for it. For tobacco flavour, I myself am perfectly happy with Tobacco Absolut from Perfumer's Apprentice, but that's DIY. And no matter how good a tobacco flavour is, it will never taste like a cigarette, because there is nothing burned in it. But maybe you just need something else from tobacco you won't find in liquid, in that case, have a look at the smokeless section of the forum. If your PV puts out not enough vapour or TH, check for a new one. If …

But don't start with that "I fell off the wagon". You didn't. You just smoked a few cigarettes. Try to find out why and if you can do something about it, and even if you can't (and I think you can) then you can still count those analogs you did not smoke. Still presumably a lot more than those you actually smoked.

vaping seems so new and yet there are already so many various flavors and ways to achieve the perfect throat hit for different peoples tastes and different amounts of throat hit for different peoples needs. Truly amazing! I'm sure there is a "dream vape" out there for you (I know I haven't found mine yet, but I'm getting along o.k., so far) be adventurous, maybe your "dream vape" just won't be what you expect it to be. Maybe you'll even discover you're an e-pipe sort of guy, I'm just saying -- if e-cigs are possible, anythings possible.

Wholeheartedly agree! And the bolded sentence above is right on. I think some people may not be getting nearly the vaping experience others have because they are using the wrong PV, liquids, and/or refilling style to satisfy their particular smoking habit.

I never actually planned on completely quitting analogs, but today(Thursday) I realized that I haven't had an analog in 5 days(since Saturday) and it has taken almost zero effort. I have an SS choice No. 7 Micro, but plan on purchasing a 501 soon(as in, as soon as I have a few bucks not already needed for bills,) based on all the good things I've read about it. Hopefully that will raise the scale from "getting by easily" with my current No. 7 to "better than analogs" with the 501, or any more pleasurable e-cig i may find.

I still have an analog whenever I want one. However, when I do have an analog, it seems a little more disgusting each time. It makes me wonder why I ever started smoking to begin with, and I'm convinced it is only because it looked cool and rebellious(it does, I'll never deny that.) But now I'm married with a kid on the way and a future that seems more real-life than when I started smoking at 14, so the choice to vape rather than smoke is easy.

Dont' be too hard on yourself, just think about all the cigs you haven't smoked since you started vaping! Everyone quits at a different rate, some the same day they get their pv, and some take a month or more. For me I've been vaping for about a month, & I've still been smoking a few cigs a day. But I didn't let that get me down, I thought "WOW I can't believe I went from a pack a day to just a few"! Today it's 10:01 AM where I am and I haven't a an analogue since 3:30 PM yesterday! I started to hate the taste of cigs and decided yesterday to try not to buy any more. Good Luck and don't stress, you will get there in your own time.

You just smoked a few analogs, for petes sake! I no longer inhale them (lungs cant handle it) but I do light one up now and then, to get that real cig taste in my mouth. But I have not found the right liquid, either. The VG is too sweet, icky sweet to me, but I want to find a PG Menthol that satisfies, so far no luck, but I have only just begun looking. I am also still trying to figure out what nic level is right. It seems like maybe 24 will be the right levbel but I may be able to drop down a few mgs.
Anyway, keep hunting for that perfect vape. It is out there!

It's a funny thing, being a grown-up. We have to be responsible when it comes to paying taxes, going to work and doing the dishes - but when it comes to fun suddenly the lid slams down. NO! If you want to smoke then go right ahead. The government would rather you didn't because they'd like you to live longer to get more tax dollars from you. But it's your life - so do what you wish! Once over the age of majority we can, within reason, make our own choices. When that ceases to be the case is when I shout even louder. :)

Yup, it takes some practice before getting used to e-cigs.
