Please tell me what they mean by #3? LOL

#3 Says: "Inject max 1ml, we suggest not to re-use more than 4 times, even the C-E2 can be refilled easy 10 times"

Now, I'm no expert. But I THINK they mean:

"Inject max 1ml, we suggest you throw them away after 4 uses so we make more money, even though you could keep using them longer. (But we wouldn't make as much money --> *sadface*)"

Karl,

See this post: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/requests-opinions-reviews/128732-v4l-kr808ds.html#post2046364

FWIW, my wife are both n00bs and are both using the two RS808D-1 manual batteries that came in the starter kit from Vapor Junction, and two KR-808D-1 automatic standard batteries. The RS's are a bit longer. There may be an mAH difference, but I'm not sure as I cannot find the mAH of the RS's. I've asked my wife, and we both, ever so slightly, prefer the batteries in the RS starter kit. Neither of us can totally say why that is, though.

For $35 less their 10% discount for ECF members (ECF10), I don't think you'll go wrong to try them out.

And now for something completely different and interesting from Royal Smoker:

Hi Tim,

Cool! Thanks for the info and I read your post on the other thread. I'm still deciding.

I think that is a very good deal on the RS from Vapor Junction and I'm glad to hear it appears to be compatible with other (KR I guess) 808 stuff. The other thing I'm looking at is a "big battery" setup, like the eGo. But I think I want to go with the 808, not 510. There are a couple of them out there with 808 threads, maybe you've already seen them:

VaporNine DEFENDER Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit

THE ELEGANT EASY

The attraction of course is long battery life, 750mAh. But it's fatter / heavier and you move into the "doesn't really look like a real cigarette at all" realm, but I'm not sure if I care about that. And as you see the prices are up there. There appears to be good compatibility between 808 and 901 and this looks like a good deal if it will work with the 808 carto's:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 901

I could try the atty that comes with it too (seems like a lot of the serious vapers like to drip and you need an open atty to do that). But I do want to use 808 carto's, so I have to talk to Liberty Flights today. Decisions, decisions....

On the CE-2 carto, here's where I first heard about it. This guy is definitely sold on the 808 version. I hope yours is working like his did:

YouTube - Clouds of Vapor KR808 Ceramic Cartomizers

Looks like Clouds of Vapor is out of them right now. I noticed there is a version 4 out and I think the ones in the RS kits from VJ are version 3, so maybe the new ones are even better.

Off to try and order something today... Happy Vaping!

Hi Tim,

Cool! Thanks for the info and I read your post on the other thread. I'm still deciding.

Karl,

Just FYI. I've now tried a Cisco 901 Low Resistance Atomizer
that I got from Clouds of Vapor on the batteries that come with the RS808D-1 Starter Kit from Vapor Junction and they screw on fine.

Thank God I also bought a Drip Tip with the atomizer. I didn't know that the atomizer, and the cartridge that is shown attached to it, would NOT come with any filler. I was totally confused about how to use the damn thing. So, since I bought the drip tip, I just decided to try that. Works very good.

(Also a bit disappointing is that I called Clouds of Vapor on Saturday, October 30, and left a message about being confused about my second order with them and left my number. I also said I would try back Monday if they weren't there on the weekends. I called and left a second message on Monday, November 1, about finally realizing that the atomizer needed a filler, and that I also determined that they didn't come with them; and also about a problem with the atomizer working on a standard KR808. I have never had any phone call or reply from Clouds of Vapor so far. NONE! I'm a bit disappointed because I love a couple of their juices I've now tried and would hate to not do business with them because of this other, non-juice, sour taste.) :(

I get more vapor with that atomizer than I do with the CE2 v4 cartos, but I'm still happy with those cartos, too. I suppose the atomizer is burning a bit hotter since it is low res, but I don't feel the juice taste is diminished at all. I NEVER thought I would be, but I have been doing mostly dripping in the 901 atomizer all this week, and hardly using the CE2 cartos at all.

I also bought 10 CE2 808D-1 / 901 XL Cartomizers ( Pack of 5 ) ( Stainless Steel ) Rev. 4 from Vapor Junction. Their price of $9.95 (less 10% for ECF10 coupon) is best price I've seen.

The only problems I've had is that the CE2 cartos I bought previously (5 black XL's from COV, and 5 standard ones that came with my first RS808D-1 starter kit from Vapor Junction), seem to be having trouble screwing onto the batteries in the new RS808D-1 starter kits. They are really tight. In fact, I broke the end off one brand new battery trying to tighten it on and off and attempting to force the threads to cut further. They were very close. I guess I got too gorilla-ish. But, the CE2's that came with my new order (the extras and the one's in the starter kit from VJ), and the 901 atomizer from COV didn't have that tight-thread problem.

The 901 atomizer, however, will not screw down far enough to work with two standard KR808D-1 batteries I got from Vapor Kings a couple weeks ago. Wait.... Actually, it screws down all the way, but just won't make an electrical connection. I think that this is a known issue, and that the people that make the KR808D-1 batteries are working on it. Since the 901 atomizer works with the RS808D-1 batteries, I feel the problem has to be with the KR808D-1 batteries.

GL,

Tim

P.S. Travis, at Vapor Junction, tells me now that the RS808 starter kit batteries are 380 mAh, versus 280 mAh for the KR808D-1 standard and XL. This seems to fit pretty closely with the battery life my wife and I are getting from both types.

I sure wish they made a PCC that the longer batteries would fit in and close.

Right you are. I had some problems with my eyes (a bit of diabetic retinopathy), and the computer screens were just too blurry for my glasses to adjust enough. I could see some larger things clearly enough by wearing my present glasses and a pair of old glasses together (talk about looking like a dweeb), but much computer screen reading was really straining and very time consuming. For the same reason, we didn't go to the Vape meet. The eyes seem to have gotten better again... just using my normal reading/computer bifocal glasses atm.

I believe my last analog was about a month ago now. Just yesterday I took the second to last old pack, which has 5 left, and my lighter off the coffee table and put them where we always store unopened analog packs. I'm not sure why I didn't just throw them away, but they weren't, and aren't, bothering me laying around. That in itself is hard to believe.

My wife bought a pack of analogs one day while at work when the vaping wasn't working that well. I think maybe I didn't keep her cartos filled. Either that, or she had one with some low mg nicotine juice in it -- we are trying lots of juices in different strengths (from 4mg to 30mg) and flavors. That was a couple weeks ago and she's smoked about half of the analogs. As you can see in the previous post, we now have a good supply of cartos, so that shouldn't be an issue again. I think she'll be OK once we zero-in on her sweet spot and keep her supplied.

Other that what I wrote in the other post, that's about it.

Thx for asking, latreasem.

Tim

AWWW I'm so sorry you didnt make the meet and about your eyes. I know how that can be though some mornings I wake up and I just cant seem to get my eyes to focus on the computer screen too with/without contact or glasses, and I work from home, and if I cant see I'm screwed. Also it sounds like the meet would have been fun. I feel like a loner here in Florida when i comes to Vaping. Although I have to admit I did start some of my smoker friends on the same crappy vaping experiences I began with, except I saw the potential for much more (BLU, Njoy). However my BFF I bought her the exact same setup I have a couple of KR8 batteries and PT and a PCC a box of cartos and some juices that she thought she might like. Which she says she likes the juices and she was a mboro ultra light menthol gal, so getting her 12mg I thought would be cool for her, but she's a no go...she's still buying analogs. But my point was that it would be nice to have a meet here in North Florida.

Friday I got a new rig the Riva 510. The mailman left it in my Apt complex office. So I opened it right there in the office I was so excited and caught the eye of the complex manager. I didnt have any juices with me at the time, so tomorrow I am going over to give her a demonstration with all my rigs, the good the bad and the what the hell were they thinking when they made this crap. She says she's gonna take my lead, that I will be her Vaping mother when it comes to choosing one. I may let her borrow whichever one she likes until she gets her own, just to make sure its something she wants to do. I'm not rich so I cant keep paying it forward to people that its just not right for.

Continued sucess to you and the Wifey. Love the little hotdog dog in the hotdog bun. too cute

latreasem,

Thx for the comments.

For this next part, I'm not saying to go 100% totally with it, or that this is the ONLY way to do it, but I think Russ does make some good points in his two videos about introducing someone to vaping that you may want to consider.

Part 1: YouTube - russwishtart's Channel

Part 2: YouTube - russwishtart's Channel

Russ kind of opened my eyes as to how I might confuse and frustrate someone. I can absolutely see myself going off on explaining everything and totally lose someone... and I was in sales most of my life and should know better.

GL with your complex manager!

Tim

P.S. We have 3 dachshunds. Here's a cute, 9 second video of two of them when they were puppies. YouTube - SickPuppy2's Channel
