You could be like me and just dont like fruit flavored liquids. I have never had a fruit liquid I cared for. Chocolate doesn't work for me either. I vape only tobacco and bakery recipes. Here is something that will get you thru those times when nothing is satisfying:

PG
VG
Nic Base

I mix mine at 60/40 PG/VG @ 18mg nicotine. You may be pleasantly surprised. The PG has a slight natural sweetness and the VG creates the vapor. Unflavored eliquid is the closest I have come to a real cig since real ones don't have much flavor. Also PG and VG do not clog a coil so whatever you are using (cart etc.) will last for months. I use Boge single coil two hole and twice have used them for four months and they still worked as good as the day I started. Both times ended up putting in some flavored liquid and few days later they clogged. Hope this helps. You really should try it. No steep time either. Good luck

I think you are saying 70 vg 30 pg??

If you are try going more pg
More pg more flavor, most juice company's use more pg because it's cheaper to mix because you need less flavoring

A lot of people on here mix 8 - 15 % of flavoring

I use 100% vg the only pg I am getting is from nicotine and flavorings from flavor west.
which are pg

so my flavoring are 20 - 35 percent

If you are using 100% vg
and getting pg only from flavorings
then add more flavor

Try 15 % of 2 flavorings and see how that goes

I hope you didn't forget the secret ingredient............................................Time
I did a simple Mocha....chasing a morning Vape.
8% Mocha(TFA)
3% E.M.
Few drops sweetener
5-30-13....Not so good
6 -10-13....Not so good
9-18-13, after forgetting it in the back of the cabinet, Not great, but much better and now 10ml empty:)

Want fuller body - marshmallow
3-5% espresso and 6-8% Marshmallow isn't to shabby

I'm more of a light coffee person, but every time I add sweet cream I get Baby Powder:mad:

May find a few recipes you can work from here:

I would completely agree. I made a Strawberries and Cream a few weeks ago and it tasted awful. I let my mother in-law have it because she needed some juice. I took a vape of it and wow, that may be one of my ADVs now. Also, if you're looking for a good coffee vape, try your own coffee flavor extraction. It wasn't very hard and produced amazing results for me.

Vinegar brings the pH down (I usually add in the neighborhood of 1%, just experiment to see) it can really make a flavor "pop". Some other people use lemon juice, but I assume white vinegar would perform better.

Medical grade saline, preferably rated for inhalation, can bring out a flavor much the way salt brings out flavors in food.

You can also try Vape Wizard or Magic Mask. Never tried Vape Wizard but the AAA Magic Mask helps. I think one of the flavoring companies also sells something called smooth that's probably similar.

Here's a thread about it.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-mts-vape-wizard-aaa-magic-mask-question.html

The first time I tried DIY I had horrible results and didn't try it again for probably a year. After I did, I started with some of the pre-mixes before I tried mixing myself.

Quite a few suppliers carry them. A bit more expensive but the guess work is gone.

Here are a few, not recommending any particular one but just some options-

Concentrated Flavor - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop

Here & There
Finding a store bought juice was just as tough, and although I have tried many store boughts, none have I purchased more than once, except for High Desert Vapes Bananas Foster.
Big Mac

I would suggest you buy your flavors at High Desert if you like their juice--its gonna be either Nature's Flavors, Flavorwest or TFA he is using. Sometimes its just matter of finding brands that appeal to your tastes--hope you don't give up yet---it is a process for most of us.

I started off vaping just VG with a little distilled water to thin it slightly. It is a very nice flavor all on its own. And it's exactly what I defaulted to a few days back when I was discouraged by all the new DIY juices I was making that tasted so bad. (I do have a few I've made that I like but wanted something new.) Reverting to plain old VG was a pleasure for a break. :D

To the OP, Mac, you mentioned you like banana and that you have some TFA flavors.... do you have TFA Banana Cream? It is dead on and out of this world. No steeping required. Just add 4 or 5 drops to a few mls of VG/PG to give it a try.

Another single flavor that's good is the TFA Jolly Rancher Grape. A few drops of that in VG/PG is nice if you like Grape. (Raspberry can sometimes be perfumey so I avoid that flavor myself.)

I find that when mixing vanilla, caramel and chocolate together less is more. Especially chocolate which can taste chemically and not chocolate-like at all if the % is too high, which is the same for all DIY, but chocolate especially, it seems to me anyway.

Good luck and keep going.... DIY is an art. It takes time.

Since I have only been diy-ing for about two months, my advice may seem rudimentary, though it does echo a common theme stated throughout this thread.

Start simple, and master the single flavor. Sometimes it comes down to finding not one brand, but a combination thereof to produce something you like. Once you've mastered two or three single-flavored liquids, it becomes easier to blend those recipes into multi-flavor combinations.

Play with additives. Something as simple as vinegar, sweetener, or a mask (like TPA's "smooth" for tobacco flavors) may add a hidden note to the recipe, and bring out something that was lacking.

Finally, resolve yourself to the fact that this is going to take a lot of time. Mixing liquid is the exact same thing as mixing cocktails. Good bartenders / mixologists do not get it on their first attempts. It takes many months of mentoring and field experience to get to the top of one's game.

Unlike mixing drinks though, liquids require steeping. One flavor may take a couple days, but the more flavors added to the mix require longer steeping times. Some blends take up to 8 weeks to mature.

Again, it is time, patience, and effort. The more of those you pur in, is the more you will get out. Hope this helps!!!

Mount Baker Vapor has many ejuice at $5 for 18ml and if you find one you like they have the flavor concentrates for most of them so you can DIY the simple way.

Wife and myself love their Blu Bacco 80/20-16mg. 2 extra flavor shots .. Neither one of us detect any tobacco smell.

I Am now doing Blue Tobbaco using HV flavoring and while not a perfect match to MVV it is very close.

I mainly DIY tobacco juices (except those I do for the better-half which are fruit based) and my basic recipe consists of a base tobacco flavor, a complimentary one, a little AP, and a touch of cotton candy, and a tad of magic mix of some other tobacco style additive... Usually each one turns out well though, truth be told, I think I'm beginning to get tired of tobacco flavors...

Have been trying to bump up the taste of my mixes and finally broke down the other day and broke out a bottle of store-bought I got a while back... Found mine tasted exactly like the store-bought and, I guess, exactly (or as close as you can get) to a real cig... Guess it's been so long since I've had an analog that I'd forgot what they actually taste like... So if I stick to tobacco flavor I'm going to quit the cig flavors and start working on a decent cigar one that will have more flavor to it... :)

I wanna thank all of you for your comments, support and info. Reminds me why I've stuck around ECF for the last year. And NO, I'm not the typr to give up....take a break maybe, but not give up.

Well, I'm gonna put in an order to re-supply some of the flavors I've used up or run low on for the juices I'm gonna try again. I've got ripe banana....but no bananana cream left, I've got vanilla, but no French vanilla left...that kinda thing. With everyone talking about the RY1-4 and the other variations, I think maybe I'll try some Hangsen's for some RY type juices. I've heard RY4 Asian is great as well. Guess I'll spend some time looking at some of those type recipes as well.

crxess...that's the one I found, there are two other variations of it I found also, not much different actually, some minor changes, I'll try a few and if one hits, I'll pass it on.

Shilo,,, yeap, bought some of the VW on my last order, only used it once so far, on the next batch I make, I'll try using it and not using it and see how it compares.

Hoof,,, tell me you did a cut and paste, if you didn't I'm gonna feel like I owe you a ton, that's a lot of typing that has to be just right.

Senior Boy,,, I gotta hunt down your link, it opened the first time, but haven't been able to get it to open a second...gotta try the Elvis

Big DannyV,,, I've read a number of your posts (before you had answered here), so maybe I'll try the Hangsens and see how it goes, gonna start digging for what sounds like my recipe.

Thanks everyone.

I understand your frustration. When I first started I hated the flavors I bought from TPA and threw in the towel on them and started my own extractions. They were yummy but many were atty killers. Then I discovered capella's and the Stevo's vanilla custard recipe. Many people like it, and I was amazed by it. I tried many recipes that were just horrible, but that one rocked. It helps to have at least one success and that is a great recipe. I didn't add as much sweetener and quickly vaped my first batch. Then I started playing with it and I have yet to find a flavor that didn't work with it. I substitute the egg nog in that recipe for just about any other flavor and they have all been good so far.

I too have had great success with vaping zone super concentrates and gourmet super concentrates. I also have pretty good luck with flavor art. I think TPA has a few good flavors, but many bad ones. I also think Flavor west isn't very good and you have to mix it at 25% to start just to get week flavor.

Try a flavor or two from the following:

Capellas: there vanilla custard is amazing
Flavour Art: Their Cola is great and their fruits are good
Super concentrates from vaping zone all I've tried are good at less than 3% ...1% for gourmet and 2.5% for the alcohol based ones
For tobacco Hangsen seems to be everyone's go to, I am not huge on tobaccos but I just ordered some hangsen thinking maybe I should try them, I might just have tried the wrong ones.

I cut/pasted that. lol but I have 68 of these flavors and a boat load of pg/vg/nic ready to go. AFTER I use up the 300ml of juice I still have to use up. I have got to start giving some of my stock away. i'll never get though it all. it will be steeped for months before I get to some of it.

Dude, I feel your pain. 95% of all flavors I have tried were absolute ....e imo. The few flavors I have kept are various green apples, ellas sweet watermelon, ry4 double, peanut butter, and I think that's it. Every single other one I've tried has been disgusting. I got my nicotine from rts vapes and it doesn't seem to have that terribly peppery taste to it. It could also buy your vg. I use kosher vg and it tastes nice and sweet. Just keep trying dude, you'll get it. Or maybe try unflavored

If you need to give some away, I'll take some off your hands. ;)

I have quite a few flavors as well, but I believe you can't have too many. I always seem to be wishing I had a flavor that I don't have to mix with the ones that I do.
