Yep, still using my ego-type batteries. I did change out the tank (loved it but too expensive to go through a carto a day with molasses-like juice) for an Evod that tasted like plastic (most people don’t have that problem) and landed on my feet with a Davide Mini. It works, I’m happy with it, I’ve been of cigarettes for over nine months. Now if I had the money there would be a few things I’d like to try but I’m not unhappy with my stuff. In fact, I worship the ground they are always rolling away on.

Sorry your juice fried.

Yep, just use egos, but I only get regulated at 3.7 volts. Use an old T2 and Evods for out and about. Also have a passthru for the car and home. Stopped chasing shiny objects several months ago. I mostly vape unflavored juice, so I don't chase flavors either. I keep telling myself "this is not a hobby...this is nor a hobby".

I'm one of those folks. 3.7 eGo PT. Don't even want to do flavored liquids. I put a lower OHM carto on once and burnt my lips after a day, so I know I can't go higher voltage.

Bigger batteries? Rather carry an xtra smaller one. There are plenty like us here, we just aren't posting about new purchases all the time.

    Just Happy Happy Happy.

Like many have said, if it works for you then that's all that matters. I have a friend that's been vaping for a year now and won't use anything but a 510 cig-a-like. He makes fun of me for using an 18650 size mod. He made fun of me when I used a Ego. He refuses to try even one drag off my Provari and KFL, or anything else for that matter.

    To each their own...

I quit smoking on a generic, VV, 650 mAh, ego style passthrough, with a generic bottom coil plastic clearo. It worked that well. But, I needed back up you see, and since I had to buy that back up anyway, I decided to get myself a "You quit smoking. Yay!" present and splurged on an iTaste VV v3 with a Mini Protank II. Again, I was completely satisfied by the performance of both, and the combo of the iTaste and mini Protank looked awesome. By then though, hubby quit smoking using the same kit I did. He thought HE was happy with it as it was, but he made the mistake of trying the iTaste and mini Protank combo I had going. Suddenly, we were fighting over it, so I had to go shopping for a new device. Just so happened that an awesome sale was going on for the MVP 2, and it made more sense to buy something with a longer battery life for my 2 hour commute. Hubby and I both look at our original sets collecting dust on the shelf as... Well, we can't believe we quit smoking using it compared to what we have now. Thing is, we did quit smoking with it which meant we were, indeed, happy with it then. Regardless of that, neither of us like that those are our backups. After the holidays, I'm going to go shopping for backups again. Guess what that'll lead to? For some, it's easy to stay where you are. For others, not so easy....I'm scared of what I'll do when I don't have Christmas presents holding me back from buying.

Wonder what part of human nature, or rather behavior, makes that happen?

Being on ECF for awhile now it's rather clear that those from each side don't quite understand the others' side.

I have an eGo style battery w/pass through, and an Evod tank.

    I'm happy with it.

It takes up next to no space, rather than a huge, clunky, (to me) awkward looking mod. I can throw it in my pocket or Random Stuff Holder in the center console of my car. The whole thing cost $30, I won't cry if it breaks or I lose it. And if I DO lose it or break it, I can walk into about any smoke shop and pick up the exact same gear.

Is it the best? Well, define best, I guess. For me, I think so. I can pick it up and vape. Maybe switch out a coil if I need to. I don't need to spend epochs fiddling with wires and wick material. I didn't do that with cigarettes, and I don't want to do it when I vape, either. Some people love the tinkering. I myself, don't. (FYI, I also tried rolling my own cigs for a while, and hated that too. Curious if the tinkerers were also rollers when they smoked) I wasn't always searching for the best lighter on the market, or the newest cigarette technology. Again, to me, that doesn't make sense to do when I vape. I do see the appeal of doing it, it just doesn't appeal to ME.

Everybody is saying "famous last words". I... really don't think so. I can't say no for sure, but I can't see what would make me upgrade. I also hear a lot of "You should at least get a VV". I HAD a VV. My first battery was a Twist, and I was wholly unimpressed. For one thing, it didn't seem to matter what voltage I vaped at. I didn't ever notice an appreciable difference in taste or amount of vapor, except if I turned it up past like 3.8, everything I vaped, burned. Yeah, that was money well spent on THAT battery. And then it disintegrated 3 months after I bought it. The ring that holds the power button just came off. The whole thing fell apart. It was never dropped or mistreated, either.

Sure, I could just think I "have it good" because I've never tried much else.

I get some "Oh... you're still using THAT??" like there's something wrong with me.

Is anyone else still using "basic" equipment and happy with it?

    I truly envy you.

Im happy for you. Whatever works for you !!

Now For Myself......there is nothing to upgrade to....... I am vaping at the highest level that I could find.

:toast:...for everyone that is satified in their gear.

I've seen your gear and you could go higher.

(I realize this could be taken out of context. Don't. He's not that attractive.)

I'm perfectly happy with my fat 1300mah egos and bcc's. If it weren't for me running out of ideas for x-mas presents I wouldn't have had my parents purchase me an MVP v2. That will now be my at home device, it will be nice not to have to charge my egos as often. The egos will remain my on the go battery, that's for certain.

I call this basic, and few even know about it:

I was perfectly happy with my EGO batterys and EVODs for a very long time. In fact I still use them daily for out and about.

I got into mechs and rebuildables to FDA proof my vaping. There is something to be said about a device and topper you can repair yourself when it is possible ecigs will get shut down in the future.

It was piece of mind for me.
