I Have No Desire to Upgrade

Just thought I'd chime in to say I'm perfectly happy with my ego c-twists.
I do consider myself a tinkerer and, yes, when I smoked I rolled my own cigs. Smoking was a hobby for me as much as vaping is now.

I do rebuild my own pro tank heads, but the egos work great for what I'm doing (not sub-ohming. Yet :))

I know I will upgrade soon but I just wanted to show some more support for the ego users out there.

Like most, I started with cigalikes but didn't quit smoking until I found egos and ce4s. Since then I've tried just about everything - vv/vw, mechs, top- and bottom-coil clearos, drippers, cartos/cartotanks - yet what do I use 99% of the time?

Egos and CEs with replaceable heads. And I rebuild the heads because I'm frugal (sounds better than cheap :) ).

I use a dripper when experimenting with juices and everything else is in the backup drawer.

After a few disposables, I went the eGo route, like almost everyone. But I still thought it was too big ...

Went the opposite direction from the majority (typical behavior for me :D), and did a ton of research, found the Ovale Elips (which is in my pocket right now) ...

Still looking for more stealth and convenience, got an eRoll kit. I don't think there is anything smaller in a reusable PV ...

Less is more ... :p

Always salute the stealth, loved my bottom feeders for that a lot more that what I use now.First time going to a club my batt burned my leg and made me laugh back in 2009.Stealth is where its out without question if it works for you.My best answer for anyone asking why you vape ,"its just another way of getting my nic fix", after that act no higher or lower than the person that responses.

i'm glad you're happy with what you have, but if you keep on reading ECF you will be absorbed. of course you don't think so now, but many a soul has tread the same ground you are walking now and they, too have succumbed. whatever you do, don't touch a kayfun or russian or read too much about them- one day you will go to sleep and when you wake up you will research the finer points of making a coil and what the best wick material is.... you can fight it, you can hold out longer than most, but, in the end the vape snatchers will get you......

Exactly what happened to me!!!

I felt the same way for the longest time. I loved my ego twist and vivi nova (and then later the Kanger Evod). I played around with a lot of other stuff . .mechs, rba's, gennies, dripping atties, carto-tanks, etc . . .and it was all fine but nothing really bumped the ego/clearo from the top spot.

Then I got a Kayfun Lite +.

The Kayfun Lite + has definitely become my main device and basically my only device. The flavor is ridiculous! And, of course, it's huge so I need to run it on my mech .. and sometimes I like to use a kick2 . .so my daily vaping has gotten a bit more complex but it's worth it . .I can't go back.

One other thing . .the KFL+ has me spending more on juice, too . .since the flavor is so much better it has me wanting to try all sorts of new juices wheras I was pretty much content to vape unflavored all the time in my evods.

Nothing wrong with using an ego and an evod . .but if anybody asks you if you want to try thier Kayfun just say no and run away . .or else your vaping world might get turned upside down!

I get some "Oh... you're still using THAT??" like there's something wrong with me.

well, they are just rude,,,,,,,,,,ask them that about their cars,,,,,,or their lawnmowers,,,,,,,,,or whatever.

It's nobody's business WHAT you use,,,,,,,if you're happy with it, then that's GOOD ENOUGH for me and anyone else,,,,,,,,it shouldn't matter if I have a 400 dollar mod (I don't, but you know what I mean)

Is anyone else still using "basic" equipment and happy with it?

I've owned and used a lavatube, a buzz pro, a madvapes VV box mod, basic ego's, ego Twists, and Vision Spinners. I've used various carto's, atomizers designed to have you drip, the ego T tanks, various carto tanks, vivi nova's, and Kanger Protanks.

For quite some time, I've used the Kanger Protank II on a Vision Spinner 1300. I'm pretty darn happy with that.

It's not too big, but big enough that I'm not constantly draining the battery or having to refill juice. It does the job. I have no interest in trying to rebuild my atomizer so it works "better than new", and my eyes are old enough that doing detail work doesn't sound fun. I don't want to have to spend half my day trying to get the darn thing to work right, I just want to vape. From time to time, I have to change out the atomizer or wash off the drip tip, but that's about it on maintenance.

When I smoked, it wasn't a hobby, and I didn't have to spend a huge amount of time figuring out how to smoke, I just smoked. I'd love it if vaping were so simple.

I vape in honky-tonk bars on a regular basis, and I see a lot of other people vaping. The vast majority are using eGos.

I can certainly sympathise with the OP.

I'm getting academically interested in advanced kit now. Two reasons:

1. After starting to rebuild PT2 coils with success I think I can learn the technical side.
2. I'd like to have something that takes a "normal" battery in case the EU ban all the eGo kits.

I am reluctant because:

1. I like a compact setup. Right now I'm loving 1300 mAh stubby standard eGo batteries (90 mm). Very convenient size and I'm happy with the performance now that I'm rebuilding my coils, can check them with an Ohmmeter and wicking with cotton. I have a vision spinner 1300, but I find even that a bit big for taking out and just use it at home. The battery life of the Vision spinner 1300 is also terrible compared to the 1300 standards I have.

2. With the spinner I tend to vape all my usual flavours at 3.7-3.9 anyway (which I'm led to believe is similar to the standard batteries). Granted, I do notice the standards dropping off about 30 mins before they flash, whereas the spinner maintains performance throughout it's (much shorter) charge.

I'm 95% sure I will move to an RBA because I like tinkering, and similarly with an advanced battery. I just need to do some more research and work out what will suit me. I think something like a Zmax mini would be perfect if it was possible to have a longer-lasting battery. I will probably go for a telescopic model in the end. Anyway, I promised myself I wouldn't get more kit until March so I have time to research the area.
