I am not discreet at all when using my pv (joye 510 silver with blue or purple Led). I kind want to be asked questions. I guess thats because I am an outgoing person and because I am a noob. So is the reason for no questions because of where I live? and/or because its California? I live in Oroville, and that is a small town in nor cal about 35 minutes south of chico and about 1.5 hours north east of sac. I have never seen anyone with one besides me and DH.
I haven't hogtten a weird looks or questions...

Pretty much exactly the same for me. I vape in public with my mod + a big tank and no questions. As for disgruntled looks I still get those as much as I did when smoking. Yet to see another vaper as well. I did get to show off my PV and let some friends try it the other night, unfortunatly no one seemed to like it that much.

Yah I know what you mean. All my friend smokers that I have come in contact with since my switch, did not seem the least bit interested. Well, enough to try it. But that was it.

I'm pretty much vaping in the places I used to smoke, at home, in the car, outside, etc. I've had a couple people ask what my e-cig was, but so far, not too many people seem to notice what I'm doing.

This unfortunately may be true... *sigh* Even tho I do not "look" the type at all! As you can see from my pic (Which I am very lucky and appreciative) I do not look 33. .... heads look old... really old. I have to know these things as a property manager. And I lost a few friends to it as well. They didn't die... I just don't associate with anything or anyone like that. I would hate to think thats what people think of me... but at the same time... I don't really care if they do, because I don't know them... they don't know me.
I also think that this may be the case... and well they play comercials for the e-cig all over the radio her now... so people probably just assume it is one.
I use my Darwin in public... most people think its a Breathalyzer. I had it charging in my car and one guy thought it was a drunk driving device that I had to blow in to start my car.

I only get questions when I'm around smokers. If I go out to smoking area, at least one person will ask about my PV. I haven't gotten any negative feedback other than a little bit of mocking. The mocking stops when I explain that I prefer my PV to regular cigs and that I have in fact "upgraded" instead of giving up anything. The best comments came while I was vaping at a bar that was non-smoking (until 9pm) and a guy sat down next to me and started to light up an analog. The bartender rushed over and told him to put it out or get outside. The look of confusion on his face as he looked at me and then back at the bartender was priceless. After a couple of "You .......!" type comments, he said that he was going to do some PV research on his phone while he was stuck outside.
The reasons they don't ask questions is because they don't care. The only people that find vaping as exciting and interesting as you do are on this site. I'm not trying to be an a** here but I think people spend a lot of time on this site and then assume that the rest of the world is just as interested in vaping as they are on here and they're not. If someone wants to find out about vaping they'll probably just Google it or something instead of walking up to a stranger to ask them about it.
Oh, I know. I'm also lucky to not look my age - my whole family is like that. My "baby" sister is over 40 and college students still try to pick her up, because she looks about 25. I have another sister, though, and she's been a drunk and .... addict for way too many years, and she's haggard. She's 50, and looks 65+. And the sad part is, she was the most vain when we were younger. She doesn't have much to be vain about these days.
And I'm bitter about the 30 years I spent smoking, because even though I don't look my age, I still look a lot older than I would have if I hadn't smoked. So maybe I'm vain, too.

I am totally fascinated by vaping and vaping culture. But for all I read on the weird questions and such that others have received I was surprised that no one had made any weird comments or questions toward me. But I guess everyone here ether knows what it is or assumes otherwise. lol I haven't really been vaping that long, so I know one day someone will ask me what I am doing.
