From the moment I vaped my first draw on an eCig I never touched another analog. Until just now.

Been smoke free for just over a month. Had a shipping issue with my "go to" eJuice (menthol) and for the past week have had to vape some Mint I ordered 2 weeks ago, and didn't care for the taste of that eJuice at all. Was out and about shopping, really missing that lung hit that menthol gives (my order won't be here till Friday). And, I started craving a cig. Thought, Oh, it's just a weird moment, will go away soon. But, after an hour of the cigarette crave persisting, I broke down and bought a pack of my old favorite, Marlboro Blue.

Stepped outside of the 7-Eleven and lit up. Three to four puffs later I was completely unimpressed. Not that it tasted that bad, I did notice the yuk "burntness" of the smoke right away. Rather, the lung hit I get from vaping was non-existent! There was zero flavor. And, I don't mean eJuice flavor. More, the menthol was flat and tasteless compared to my go to eJuice menthol. I dropped the thing to the ground, smooshed it out with my shoe, picked it up and tossed the nasty thing in the dumpster with the 19 other death sticks in the pack.

Once I bought the pack I actually looked forward, with great anticipation, to that feeling you get from smoking a cigarette after not having one for an extended period of time - a month in this case. Nothing. Zilch.

Now I KNOW why vaping works. It is a BETTER experience than smoking. Well, I've passed the point of no return on this. It's vaping or nothing. LOL! I went back to my car, took out my Pig Cig, put in a freshly filled cartomizer and vaped away. Mint and all. Relishing every puff. One other interesting part of the cig falter. It felt so small and useless. Too short, too light. No button to push. No glowing LED. Just a little thing in my hand. Weird.

Vape it or Smoosh it, I say! :2cool:

I've never looked back, and can already imagine that if I was to toke on a cancer stick I'd hate it. But, when I quit, I was really ready to quit. I also enjoy vaping, and will most likely do it the rest of my life. It's very satisfying, without the horrible smell, stinky hair, stinky clothes, backlash at work, better for my lungs, my friend's lungs (2nd hand smoke) my pet's lungs...the list goes on and on :)
Glad you're back amongst us!

When I tapered down, the last day was weird.

I'd been choking down cigarettes to keep to the taper the day before, and then that morning, I enjoyed my last cigarette. I lit two more, on schedule, but I couldn't even inhale them.

For me anyway, it was really good for me to let my body gradually learn that it really didn't want smoke in it. I certainly don't feel deprived by not smoking -- vaping is just more enjoyable for me.

that is a very impressive story my friend ... very impressive especially since you have only been off for one month. I wished that analogs turned me off in the same way, but they don't, and I still crave them ( I must be nuts).... You on the other hand are clearly sane, and more power to you!

You and me both Nikkita. I still enjoy a cigarette every once and a while when I'm out with friends that still smoke. But when all is said and done I know that vaping is better than smoking any day of the week.

I'm running into the same thing. I've been vaping only about 6 weeks and I've noticed my body is weaning its self! I've found juices I LOVE and taste better than cigs, when I want one I light it but after a couple puffs, I put it out and grab my PV.

I've also noticed my triggers when I crave analogs and understand them better. In the 6 weeks I've been vaping I've went from 2-3 packs a day to 5 analogs a day without trying, and I can live with that for now.

In the space of a couple weeks, I've gone from a pack and a half a day to around 5-6 a day. I'm still tapering down (and I'm experiencing some headaches, so I'm trying to figure out if that's too much nicotine or not enough or what the heck it is), but I'll tell you this -- today, the first analog I smoked tasted horrid. It had a "burny" taste, with a hint of a metallic lingering yuck in my mouth afterwards. And I'm starting to think that if they continue to taste worse and worse, I'll have no problem when the last one gets put out.

I would guess the headaches and the metallic taste are related. You're detoxing from all the bad chemicals that are in cigs - thus the headaches, and now you can taste them when you do have that "rare" cig, because your body isn't as crammed full of that junk any longer. : o
