I have had bad reactions to VG. I did not think it could happen. I bought some from a pharmacy to mix with too high a mg ejuice. It did not take long to feel the effects. I went back to PG and felt a lot healthier. Even 24 % vg can be bad for some people's health. Bad reactions to VG can last for days. Same thing with nicotine overload. It can sap your strenghth and cause heart problems.

I've heard at least one report from my customers that they have had some success.

They submitted the receipt, said it was used as a nicotine replacement, and were approved. This was for the medical expenses that some workplaces allow you to remove from your income. Not paid for entirely, but the money you spend on PV devices and liquids isn't taxable income.

Your mileage may vary, depending on where you work and their policies...

Good luck,
Dave

Facts are facts, but in reality I don't think anyone knows the long term effects of inhaling any of these things, at least not in the quantities we consume as vapers. Some don't like to hear that and may want to argue, but where's the studies? I'm confident it's safer than smokes, but that's my assumption, since I have nothing to go on......... Just conciderations, but many folks don't take an unbiased look at what we're doing and are too quick to defend. I've seen many posts pertaining to congestion, sometimes it's the PG, sometimes allergic reactions to flavorings and some are VG. I'm not a doctor and avoid them at every turn, but some do know what they're talking about. Is it better for us, I think so. Could it cause other long term problems of its own, maybe. I believe in choice, but we do need more than assumptions to make good choices :).

This really is the nuts and bolts of it at this point. Until there is medical evidence to support either side, then it's all just assumptions. Well said good sir.

When I look at how long so many people have been smoke free - I think it can't be bad.

Really, why is that? Yes smoking is bad. Yes, switching to vaping is pretty easy for most people. It could still very easily be just as bad for you as smoking, although probably in different ways.

we posted at same time MMAfighterNH .. would really like to know if your juice is GV?
I could assume so, but why not have facts?

And do you vape Tasty V's juice?

It's VG. Sorry, but I saw you post it wrong in 2 different posts so I figure it wasn't a typo.

MMA ~

I took my e-cig with me to my last checkup and my doctor who said 'that's not going to hurt you'.

An uninformed positive opinion is no better than an uniformed negative one.

Little Wing - you said a mouthful. People forget what they have done to their bodies for years. This isn't a cure, it is an alternative. Maybe other symptoms masked the wheezing while smoking. I would still rather take my chances with these than analogs - ANYDAY - PERIOD!!!!!

Precisely the way I feel about it as well. It's a gamble in a lot of ways. We're betting out health on the hope that vaping is better for us than smoking.

Just let you in on my personal expierence with PG. Im a Zero MG vaper. Got this as a back up plan since I've managed to stop anologs on Jan 5th.

I havent felt worse since I started vaping! canker sores, dizziness and short of breath. Thing is my body is pretty sensitive. Certain meds dont agree with me either. Im just mad at myself because I was on the fence on which I would vape, PG or VG and in the end I decided PG, and what I should have done was order both...

Just as well I guess. I have put a order in for VG and I will be laying off vaping until I receive my order. But at this point PG for me is a no go.

i lost the ability to really taste the flavors after an hour of vaping digitals. my throat feels really dry and sore after vaping digitals over a 24 hour period. i drink a gallon of tea everyday. this didn't happen the other time i quit smoking for 2 months using nicorette. something is up. i wish i didn't spend the money on equipment, accessories, and different juices to keep me going for 1-2 months.

Dry/sore throat is quite common when people first start vaping and it tends to go away after a while (I think a week or two is about average). Be sure to drink extra water (it really does help) and maybe try to vape a little less heavily as you get used to it.

When I started vaping it made me cough every time I took the first inhale. It made no sense to me that smoke didn't bother me like that but vapor did. Then I remebered that way back when I first started smoking, I coughed insanely the first couple times smoke hit my throat :p Anyway, vapor stopped making me cough after a day or two. It's just something your throat isn't used to.

Henry I'm not following you lol, just got a post notice on this thread since I guess I subscribed to or posted in it somewhere along the way. Anyway, now I have another link to suggest: IF you ultimately do decide you aren't going to pursue finding some other products and/or juices that may work better for you; or if you want to try to recoup some of your investment first, you can try selling your gear in the ECF classifieds. It's a very popular thing to do, works out great for many people.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/classifieds-swaps/

Be sure to see the "Important! - Read before posting in this forum" announcement at the top there, which contains a link to the current rules of the road for buying & selling.

I do think you may end up finding some helpful ideas right here in this Health sub-forum for the problems you're having tho. Good luck whatever you do, hope you can work it out! :)

Drinking tea won't help keep you hydrated. Caffeine is a diuretic and will dry you out. Drink lots of water. I started getting dry chapped lips when I started vaping, which I wasn't prone to before. Lots of water and lip balm helped with that.

if you read my last post the past week i been having shortness of breath at night like right b4 i goto bed, i didnt kno if i was taking in too much nic or whats so i was worried i went to my doctors office my doctor ( a polish women) i told her that i smoke e-cigs and what they are she looked into it a lil and did some regular tests on me you kno, like my breathing chest lungs and stuff, now she said she hears crackling in my lungs and weezing . then started talking about the GLYCERIN in the e-cigs and how bad it is to inhale it and that the GLYCERIN cna enter your lungs when you inhale and turn to fat cells and clog your lungs, she told me if i dont quit smoking the e-cig i can be seriously ill and could get CHEMICAL PHNEMONIA from it...........what do i do??????? take this one docs word for it and quit or keep on goin.....plz help

your doctor is an idiot, this should help as the medical field uses this for nebulizers in lung patients
Q: Is Propylene Glycol safe to inhale?
A: Yes. Propylene Glycol is used as the suspension fluid for asthma medications administered via nebulizers and inhalers, and also for medications used for lung transplant patients to inhale. Propylene Glycol mist absorbs cleanly into your lung tissue as it is a small molecule which dissolves easily and completely and has very low toxicity. Propylene Glycol also has antibacterial/antiviral properties.

PG is totaly safe for inhalation as thats what is used for asthma and lung disorders like bronchitus and pneumonia among other lung disorders, it is used in nebulizers to create the mist that mixes with the medication for inhalation just like the e-cig i would personally stay away from vg as its an oil vapor from vegetable your inhaling. vg which is used for food digestion is safe but do you realy want an oil coating in your lungs, i would say no. PG's molecule breaks down in the lung and is absorbed into the body and leaves no residue in the lung. like an oil can clog the tissue and air pockets in the lung and cause infection. stay away from VG it has not been tested for inhalation and PG has and is used for medical breathing machines, so you tell me whats safe, id say PG hope this helps

I've been vaping since January 1st of this year (2010) ... (I'm a vvvvvvveeeeeerrry heavy vaper too I might add!) I have experienced no phlegm or any other 'noticeable' side effects from vaping. Now once in a while my mouth may get a little 'dry'..... (too much VG or PG... I don't know.. lol) ... but for me, the vaping hasn't affected my Lungs that I've noticed. My Lungs were in PRIMO condition prior to vaping and they 'feel' primo to me now... I don't cough, spit or produce phlegm... (unless I get a cold and I don't get those very often anymore). I might also add that I'm a "former" Asthmatic and I've had Pneumonia on at least three different times in my Life. I quit smoking Analogs over three years ago, so my theory is if you start vaping once irreversible lung damage has 'already' occurred, any Health Benefits of vaping will probably be of little benefit.

Just my Humble Opinion. :D

Now I have another question, related to lungs, for everyone.

For 7 years I've been smoking 1.5 packs/day of ultra lights. Last Thursday afternoon my KR8 arrived. I didn't know if I would be happy with a PV so I switched between it and some analogs (5). By midmorning Friday I had already decided that I preferred the KR8 over the analogs. Friday night the battery ran out of charge so I had another 5 analogs. Saturday morning I'm back on the KR8. Saturday night my chest starts feeling tight, similar to the onset of bronchitis. I take some expectorant, drink lots of water and quit using the PV (no analogs either). I continue with expectorant and h2o until noon today. My chest felt better and I was coughing up a little bit of residue from the analogs, a good sign. Some new flavors arrived and I had to try them. Less than 30 puffs on the new cartos and I can feel my chest getting a little tight again.

Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any advice? I don't want to go back to analogs.

I've been told that any time you get bad news from a doctor, it's worth going and getting a second opinion. This advice came to me a long time ago from my mom, who was (and still is) a registered nurse. I've never heard of the "glycerin -> fat cells" thing before.

For the record, I would get bad wheezing sounds in my chest last year when I was still smoking, especially after a two-mile jog. I'd sound like I was dying, and was rather short of breath. Then about three days ago I went to my girlfriend's gym with her, lifted weights, and did a half hour on an elliptical after doing no cardio all winter long. I felt a lot better with my e-cig (even letting myself go a few months as far as working out) compared to when I was smoking analogs.
Ret RN. Never heard of it either. Worked Emergency for years, you would think I would have run across something to that effect............
