I've been vaping for about 2 months and I still have anologs every day. Granted I'm down to 3-5 instead of the 8-10 I was at. I currently smoke 12 nic juice. I've tried 18 and it gives me quite a buzz. Should I try like a middle nic lvl maybe? Anybody got tips on how to help take that last step off? Also I was thinking maybe having more of a "cigarette" feelin pv would help, but I enjoy my clouds of vapor.

My suggestion is don't sweat it and try to slowly knock one cig down every week or so or

what worked for me was to challenge myself to not smoke for 4 days then I could smoke again if I wanted. I made it 7 days or so and when I tried to smoke again it tasted like crap so I stopped. You don't have to think of it as your last cigarette, I try to smoke every now and then and always put it out after two drags.

Vaping is so much more satisfying than smoking a cigarette.

WTAs might be worth a try as well. Try Aroma e juice.

One more suggestion is to vape the 12 and when you want a cigarette vape the 18 for a while and see if that helps.

As above - don't be discouraged, count the cigarettes you're not smoking, not the few that you are. Sometimes the key is finding "that" juice. Have you tried samples from different vendors. And sometimes the key is to have the stronger nicotine levels for those "must have a smoke or else" moments till you can vape yourself out of the idea. I'm still smoking and will probably continue for a while, but it gets a little less palatable over time. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll get there.

Cigarettes deliver a nearly instantaneous nicotine hit while vaping delivers the nicotine quite slowly. You might want to try vaping a little more frequently to see if nicotine levels dropping too low might be causing your cravings. Also, like Hulamoon says, celebrate your success in the cigarettes you have not smoked and try very hard not to beat yourself up over the ones you do.

I've seen numerous posts from people who have successfully quit but it took them from weeks to months to give up the last handful of cigarettes. If you stick with vaping you will eventually come up with a strategy that lets you give up your last few daily smokes.

Meh, I did both for several months. I didnt' stress about it, ever. Keep your vape at hand and your smokes away from you (like put them in another room so you ahve to get up and get them). Make yourself have to WORK to smoke. Most of us are essentially lazy /grin. Before you know it, you'll be vapeing and not smoking. But most important, don't stress!

I acually was not able to kick the cigs until I found the device that worked the best for me. Now that I have, I am finally finding my juices that work for me.

It took a combination of the two, juice + device, that did the trick. In the meantime, I was thrilled that I had cut down the cig intake tremendously.

Juice is very important to me. My story on that: I had gotten samples from many vendors while using the eGo C. Cut back on cigs right away. Read more here on ECF and decided to try the Vivi Nova because I was tired of filling those stupid cartridges all the flipping time! When I received the Nova I was like OMG!!!!! This is amazing!! Well that led to, OMG this juice is nasty!! Onto the search for really good juice. Very luckily I found a thread, after someone invited me to check out a thread over in the e-liquid section in the forum. Some great people there pointed me to some flavors after I told them the ones that I had thought ok. I am a fruit person ;)

So got the samples and was YES!! In the meantime, after getting the Nova, I didn't have a single cig!!

Back to the juices in the equation. While waiting for my larger bottles of the juice that was FANTASTIC, I was stuck with samples that were horrid! I slipped and had some cigs before finally getting my juice that was good. Now that I have everything in place. I am now cig free.

Moral of the story, keep searching for the device that works for you and the juice that works for you. It is out there somewhere and SOOOO worth the effort!!

Holy cow, I didn't mean to write a novel. Sorry about that :D

I did both for 6 months, too... Not to worry - I'm pretty sure that eventually you'll reach the point I did. You realize that vaping (while not the same as smoking) is still sufficient, and it's not worth continually buying cigarettes. Some people keep emergency cigs (I have an unopened pack in my car), and some don't. Mine is part of my plan. I plan to build a little shrine with the pack and my quit date written on it. :)
I used Aroma Ejuice with WTA, too. I'm not sure if it really helped, but I felt it did, and that's all that matters. I quit that too, eventually, and now only use "standard" juice. Don't worry about being addicted to it - I didn't even notice anything when I switched to standard. (By the way, if you're a menthol person, P-38 is awesome.)
Last note: I vape 14-18mg, but I'm about to step down. You don't say when your cigarettes are smoked, but I kept a clearomizer full of 24mg juice for just after waking up. Just for a little extra kick in the morning. :)
As others have said, keep it up, and count the cigs you don't smoke, not the ones you do!

Funny how we start wanting the taste to replicate a smoke and learn this.

My current favorite is pinapple. I don't even touch real pinapple and the juice must have vodka in it if I drink it. Vaping it...love it.

I find I can only vape what I like to eat. I never liked the tobacco. When I first started out, I read a lot of people saying at first they were looking for the tobacco replacement and found out quickly that they could never replace the taste of burning paper LOL. Then you get the people saying what you just did, I really don't care for this or that but love vaping it. So I tried chocolates, baked goods etc.. For myself, if I won't eat it, I won't like vaping it. I'm a very picky eater so it stands to reason I'm a very picky vaper.

What works for some won't work for others. Just keep trying. Eventually we will find what works for us.

Cheers!!

What I do now is If I want an analog I'll vape first. If after vaping I still want one then I have one. No worries. Like has already been said don't count the ones you do smoke, Count the ones you didn't. Give yourself time and you'lll get there. Just think like a lot of us do. The amount I do smoke now is so much less than before I know I'm making headway. Each day gets a little bit easier.

I thought I had to have tobacco tasting juice too in the beginning, but I found other flavors are working better for me. I really liked Highbrow Limoncello, and have just ordered Highbrow Orange de Sangre, both in 2.4 gm. You may not need as strong a nic level, but I do for the present.

What are you vaping with? I started out with a cig-a-like, but quickly found a eGo Twist and a Mini Vivi Nova worked a bunch better. There are other rigs on the market too, but this works for me.

Sitting in front of me is a provari/vivi nova loaded with caramel and a reo mini 18490 with pinapple. I have a kgo and a smoktek telescope in my laptop bag. The telescope finds it way to my hand at times...I really like it with an 18350 in it. I have one or two other things at home  For now, you won't catch me without either the reo or the provari on hand.

I've told my story so many times that I should put it into a notepad file for quick copy and paste.

I went from over 2 PAD to about half a pack the first week I started vaping. I did that for about two years and wouldn't let go of the last few. Toward the end of the 2nd year, I started holding my eGo in one hand while smoking a cigarette with the other. I'd alternate and compare. It was obvious that my ecig tasted better than my Ultra Light Pall Mall. Over time, I burned that comparison into my brain as fact. It was one fact that I couldn't dispute.

One day, after playing with a variable box mod for a while, I decided to quit smoking completely and I ordered a Provari, promising myself that if I spent that kind of money on a mod, it was going to get me off cigarettes. It came in and I put down the cigarettes and entered the world of variable tube mod vaping. I never smoked another cigarette and never wanted one. It's crazy, but I think the mental part of convincing myself was key.

It's all mental after the first few days of quitting. My wife hasn't made the choice yet and she sits next to me and smokes. I feel no urge at all. It's uncanny. I hope that more people can suddenly quit with that kind of resolve. I went for a long time expecting a tough fight in quitting that didn't materialize once I quit.

I smoked and vaped for about 3 months before I finally walked away from the cancer sticks. I was a 33 year smoker with a 2.5-3 PAD habit. I was NOT trying to quit smoking; I was only seeking an alternative for smoking when I was unable to smoke. Since I was not trying to quit, I felt no guilt for the times that I did smoke a cigarette considering that my consumption of cigarettes dropped immediately and dramatically from the very first time I tried an e-cig, (NJoy). It was only after I got my KGO batteries and EMDCCs with a juice that I loved, (RY 4 Tobacco - eLiquid Flavor - ECBlend), that I was able to walk away from the stinkies with ease as they no longer held any appeal for me.
