Hi everyone, Frank from Jacksonville. Anyway, I got in a Protank. I'm not having the problems some people are posting such as leaking. The draw is light, but nothing that I can't handle. However, I'm getting a strange metallic taste. I running 2.5, a knock off menthol from vape4live and using a Provari. Has anyone else experienced this metallic taste? Getting discouraged because I've got two more coming soon. Any ideas? Yes, I did wash it. By the way, this forum rocks and has been extremely helpful!

I got the unit from provape. My unit did not come in the "pretty" box with the wrap around it. I'm not really sure if it is a knock-off, but I would hope that provape (the people who make Provari would not sell knock offs)! Having said that I suppose that I should mention that the juice is a very heavy menthol. Perhaps I should try this juice in one of my ViVi Nova's to confirm it's whether it's the tank or the juice. Thanks for your info on cleaning the threads. I imagine you are talking about the top (510) connector area and ring?

I use this technique to dry out a dampened smartphone (after removing the battery of course)...

Should work for quickdrying tanks, atomizers, and cartos etc...

at a department store (Walmart carries them, for example) or hardware store you can buy these small containers of water absorbing crystals called a dehumidifier.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Keep-It-Dry-Closet-Dehumidifier/16326912

Put your gear in a big ziplock bag with the opened dehumidifier in it and put the bag on top of your dryer. Dry some clothes and, the gentle warmth will dry out your attys and such overnight as the crystals will draw in the moisture as fast as it is turns to... vapor (hehe). One of the dehumidifier units will last for quite a while (months) before it is saturated. Just remember to keep the bag sealed to keep room air away from it when you are not using it.

I just blot it, shake it off, put it back in, (maybe a quick dry burn) fill and vape. You might get light vaper for a few hits, but the water soon works it's way out. I've never really understood why many people let them dry over night and such... Maybe I'm doing it wrong but it seems to work for me - and so far, no damage to the heads that I can see.
